I visited a Wellnow Urgent Care in ************, ** on July 23, 2024 Visit #: ******** and paid $75 by **** initially. There was a leftover patient balance due of $140.73 that was charged to me that I was not made aware of it until Wellnow emailed me for payment in August 2024. I paid the balance myself from my bank account $140.73 on August 21, 2024 before the due date. However Wellnow automatically charged me another $140.73 on August 21, 2024 on my **** at the same time later on in the day. I have been emailing and calling the Wellnow customer service every month now since August ******* to try to get back my double billing. For the first few months, a representative would tell me they would be sending out a check for the money owed back to me and it would be delivered to my home address in ******. When I asked if there was any way to know if and when the check would be sent out, each time the representative said there was not even if I called back in a few days. They told me the only way was to wait a few weeks to see if the check was received in my mailbox. Last 3 months I have called when I didn't receive my refund and offered them to send the check to a family member in ** as they told me the problem seemed to be my Canadian address. They would again tell me the check would be sent out to the US address. It has now been another 4 weeks now since my last call and I have not received any check once again.Business Response

My wife seen on June 12th 2024 and had a $37.00 co-pay. We received the bill on September 12th 2024 and paid the bill on September 13th 2024. The payment cleared on September 15th 2024. We have reached out both via phone and email multiple times. The same response send in the transaction ID and confirmation number. We never hear back and then if we visit again this happens. We are tired of having to do the accounts payable role when we have already paid out bills. Please help us get this fixed. You can now see that they kept reaching out for the payment after it was paid and are attempting to do the same with the visit on my son. I have been coordinating with WellNows customer care and billing department for nearly two months without any resolution. I am exhausted from repeatedly calling and being asked to describe the issue, despite all the details already being in your system. Each time, after spending ***** minutes on the call, I receive the same response: "I will ask my supervisor to call you back." Unfortunately, no one ever follows up. I have made at least 5-7 calls in the last two months with no progress.I visited WellNow Urgent Care on November 17th due to an illness. After an initial consultation, the doctor recommended an X-ray, but I was informed that the X-ray technician was unavailable, and I had to wait. Although I dont recall the exact wait time, it was approximately ***** minutes before the technician arrived. The X-ray itself took only about five minutes, and we left shortly ******** my surprise, I received a bill reflecting 45+ minutes of service (Account Number: ********. When I inquired with the billing department, I was told that I was billed because I was "under your care." However, I was simply waiting for the X-ray technician, and I do not believe I should be charged for the delay in your staffs availability.I request an immediate review and correction of this billing discrepancy and provide a resolution at the earliest convenience.Business Response

12-21-2024 I went to this facility regarding pain in my small toe that I had previously had surgery on. Before i was allowed to see a physician i was required to pay $40 even though I have a ******** acct and a supplement acct (**************). The receptionist insisted she could not find any record of my coverage even though I had been there before. I reluctantly paid the $40 fee and I was told I would be reimbursed. I have never received my $40 payment and I have called twice to their billing department. II called ******** and *************** and they have substantiated my complaint. Both coverages have paid the agreed share to ************************** and still no refund for me. Where is my $40??Business Response

I visited my local Wellnow Urgent Care on 12/12/24 and 12/15/24. For both appointments, I paid my $30 copay with a debit or credit card on premise prior to being seen by a provider. On 1/22/25, Wellnow fraudulently charged my card $60. I called Wellnow about this issue, and the customer service representative took a message and said I would receive a return call about the charge. This representative also walked me through the steps of deleting my debit/credit cards off my online account. I had no idea that Wellnow would be saving my card information at the time I paid my ****** in person. I did not receive a call-back about the fraudulent charge. I called again, and another *** took my message and said I would receive a call back. I have not yet received any call back about this fraudulent charge.Business Response

I went to WellNow a few months ago, and upon the visit, they charged my credit card for the appointment, which was totally fine. They later billed my insurance, and were paid in full, and my insurance noted that I did not owe them anything (meaning that WellNow owed me a refund for the charge on my credit card at my visit). Instead of a refund, WellNow charged my credit card AGAIN about a month after my visit, without my consent - this now totally ~$400 across charges. They also sent me a bill in the mail for another ~$700. I called them and presented the information showing they had been paid by my insurance, and that I was owed a refund, and in fact did not owe them any more money. I also told them I never authorized that second charge to my credit card, so I did not understand why they thought that was acceptable to do. They agreed they owed me the refund and that they would send a check right away. That was 6 months ago. I have called repeatedly trying to receive this refund to no avail. They keep saying they will escalate my call to an internal or escalation team, who will call me back, though they never do. One representative even said the fact I had not received the refund was my fault, as I was not calling them enough, so I must not care very much. I do not think I need to be wasting my time calling every day to justify receiving the money they stole from me. Because at this point, it is stealing. I have noted all of the dates I have called and the people I have spoken to, and I have recorded some of the phone calls. I am considering a lawsuit. Their business practices are incredibly shady and it is disgusting how they take advantage of people.Business Response

I am only supposed to pay $25 co-pay too well now. My insurance company confirm that they billed the insurance wrong and yet, I have bills dating back six months or more in the Hundreds of dollars. I have paid the bills to stay out of collections. They now owe me over $600 and my insurance company still can not get them to resubmit the claims so that they can reprocess it. 6 months is along to owe a patient money and I would like them to resubmit to the proper local ********** so that they can issue me a bill credit.Business Response

I was seen on 12/30/24 for some knee pain I was having -- prescribed an ACE bandage that went unused, medication that I did not pick up, and rest/ice. Paid my copay and went about my day. Saturday 2/1 I receive an email stating I authorized a charge of $276.79 to be processed 2/11 -- never received a bill, a notice, nothing. Reviewed my claim with my insurance and saw that they were given a durable medical equipment (DME) charge by the clinic...for a bandage. Further digging and several phone calls later, one to whom works in medical billing and has for 40+ years, the statement I finally located lists an improper billing code for something I never received, nor was prescribed. I have documentation of the notes and the statement. This is fraudulent billing and it is beyond unacceptable. I want the charge corrected, I want the code corrected, and I want to make sure nobody else- insurance and consumer alike- is being hosed like this again.Business Response

i brought my son to Wellnow Urgent Care in ***********, ** on 1/30/25. told them he was exposed to *** and he has had a horrible cough for a long time. they then took his temperature and it was *****. they heard his cough. refused an RSV swab. the PA said it could be walking pneumonia or cooping cough thats going around. prescribed ************. on 1/31/25 we rushed my son back there because he could barely breathe. was gasping for air. ribs were retracting. red rash on hands. none of the staff seemed concerned. his o2 stats were fine and so was his temp. but he clearly was struggling to even take a breath. the nurse said we can swab for flu and covid i said no thats not necessary he needs an rsv swab. and she just stood there stared at me asked is he in daycare? YES. why does that matter? i practically had to yell at her. so she finally comes back with the swab and it was positive just like i knew it would be. he received breathing treatments. i told the doctor the prior night that he was exposed and refused to do the test. WellNow in ***********, ** FAILED my 2 year old son. he could have DIED from this. this place needs to be shut down. i never want any other parent or child to go through this. WHY are doctors so reluctant on testing for RSV when it is KILLING so many children.Business Response

I went to urgent care 6/7/2024 and paid $50 copay for visit and after visit I never received formal bill in mail and was unaware that my insurance denied claim (it was to be covered ?? after copay that was paid date of service). However on December 9th 2024, Wellnow took $315 dollars out of my account UNAUTHORIZED despite my insurance ***** calling them and telling them to place my account on hold while they resubmitted claim. The claim was subsequently approved and my insurance sent new explanation of benefits with payment from them. Wellnow despite multiple calls and emails and fax with information has yet to refund that $315 to me. The essential stole money from me and refusing to give it back. Also, I feel its fraudulent behavior on company part because I never authorized them to take additional payments and was told its snuck somewhere into check in form. However. When youre sick and coming to doctor not sure its legal/ethical to have someone unknowingly sign something like that. Update as of 1/31/25 from WellNow's billing departmen: "called pt and advised that refund was completed today and takes approx 2-3 business days, pt continued to complain this was horrible and her insurance reprocessed and we should not have taken money, advised the at credit card on file was signed at tos, pt unhappy with this but happy refund was completed. "
