My son, ***************************, was having a procedure, having ear tubes put in for constant ear infections. Because of covid, I was forced to have my one year old have a covid test. I specifically called this place and asked just for a covid test if they did them. most places would not give a covid test due to his age,. I went to this location under the impression this was a covid test for authorization on the surgery. I was forced to see a doctor which made this a doctor visit. Then my insurance declined this. This is a scam visit due to false pretenses. They refused to take the covid test without seeing The doctor. Covid tests under federal law were supposed to be free of charge, this facility is scamming people for the services.Business Response

On Sunday I was at the ********* location for my son *************************** upon arrival I was told he would not be able to be seen because of a $20 past amount due. I asked the receptionist what was the $20 for she said I dont know, I said who is it for she also said she doesnt know, I asked for what service once again she doesnt know. All she knows is he cant be seen unless she gets $20 I guess this is extortion or something because I usually know and have a **py of something I pay like a detailed receipt. My son had pink eye and I didnt have many options. So I paid the $20 dollars because my sons health and well-being is my top priority unlike well now. Denying a child with **** ******** being seen for something they cant even tell me whats its for is disgusting. Ive never been anywhere in my 43 years where someone told me you owe us $20 and thats it case closed. You cant be helped you cant be seen. Just pay me $20 I have a right to know what I am paying money for. On Monday I called united health care ******** **** and was told he should not have a ** pay or any outstanding balance. So I then call my insurances. I have anthem ********** dual plan & caresouce ******** & I have the red white and blue ******** card. I called my case worker from ******** She tells me there should not be any payment that having the ******** dual plan makes sure what ever anthem doesnt care that ******** does. I would like to request a detailed invoice and receipt of who this $20 charge was for, what this $20 charge was for, $20 when this is from, and all details on submitting the claims to the insurances. To deny a child being seen on Sun for something a receptionist cant even tell me whats its for is criminal. All I received was. Credit card print out stating $20 paid. No summary, no explanation, no details on what was paid. Im very upset I feel taken advantage off. To deny a child with pink eye being seen with insurance is despicable.Business Response

I went to the Wellnow in ******* ******** ** Today presenting with feverish sweats and abdominal pain because I have an issue with my sigmoid colon and a super sharp turn which makes it super hard to have bowel movements. I wanted an xray to make sure there was no blockage of any sort before I took anymore laxatives but they actually refused to do an xray! Cant say Ive ever had this happen before.. I went to Well Now urgent care for my ear infection.Before I was seen I was told that I had a credit on my account that would be applied to my visit and that my total was going to be $105, I was charged that amount and proceeded to see a doctor.MY appointment took 5 minutes total, he didn't even look at my ear. I had to tell him that I thought I had an ear infection, to which he responded Maybe you should go to the emergency room since there is nothing I can do. A month later I received a bill for an additional $60 that I owed for that visit. I have been trying to dispute this charge now for over 5 months, I called the billing department, went to the site, called the site, leftover 20 messages and absolutely nothing was done.Site manager ***** never called me back nor did she according to the billing department respond to my dispute charge request.I truly hope they close this place down because this place is a major RED FLAG and a giant SCAM.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACEBusiness Response

My son, ***************************** (DOB 12/24/2007), had an appointment at the WellNow Urgent Care located at *************************************************************/01/2023. When the claim was submitted to our insurance, the wrong code was used. (The claim should have coded him as an established patient since he had already visited the clinic within the past six months.) Our insurance plan covers all urgent care visits, so I was very surprised to receive a bill for the visit this past week. The bill threatened sending our account to collections. I decided that I would pay the bill and resubmit the claim to Excellus BlueCross BlueShield myself, but when I followed the directions for paying the bill online, I was unable to do so. The online bill pay requires the account number ********* and the birth date of the responsible party (*****************************, DOB 03/27/1975), but a message kept popping up that this was not the birth date that was on file. The only option left was to mail the payment, which I did sending it priority mail with tracking ***** **** **** **** **** **** 06). The payment was delivered to the address on the bill on 9/09/2023, but still has not been applied to the account as of 9/13/****** am also very concerned that on the second page of the bill, it lists that the patient balance is $460. The appointment was $230, and there is no math showing how $460 was calculated.I have attempted to call the billing department twice, but was unable to get through because of the hold time. I also emailed billing on 9/07/2023 and have not received a response as of 9/13/2023, except for an automated email Thank you for contacting the billing department at WellNow Urgent Care.This is not the first time that WellNow billed our insurance incorrectly. We pay our health insurance premiums to Excellus BlueCross BlueShield because we need them to cover our medical appointments. It is not a frivolity it is a necessity.Business Response

They are billing me from 2 and a half years ago. They never contacted me prior or sent me a bill. They said they tried billing my insurance 2 years ago but insurance never responded. They are unable to provide me with proof that they billed insurance (EOB). Now they are threatening collections when they never told me about this until now (2 and a half years later). Ive been receiving phone calls from a debt collector to collect an outstanding bill that I had with well now. As of 8/14/23 I had a bill due in the amount of $50. I paid that **** and am still getting harassed by the debt collector. Ive emailed Well Nows billing department about the issue and havent had any response. When I call the phone number, I get a two hour wait time and the phone hangs up. When I spoke to the debt collector that has been texting and calling me everyday, I told them that *** already paid the bill. The woman I spoke to on the phone said I still have a balance with them (the debt collector). I explained to them how I paid it with WellNow and well now accepted my payment so they can stop bugging me. The woman told me otherwise and hung up the phone. All I want is for WellNows billing department to tell the debt collection agency that I dont owe anything anymore. I dont want this to affect my credit in anyway if it can.Business Response

I brought my daughter in for a PPD on a Friday 9/1/23 and was told to bring her back on Monday 9/4/23 when there would be a provider to read the results. I returned on Monday as instructed and was told that I was 20 minutes too late to have it read because it was time stamped and she would have to be stuck again for another PPD. To say I was irate is an understatement. My daughters test area was so clear that you couldn't tell where she had it placed. I stated to the provider that I was not told to be back by a specific time. She still insisted that it could not be read. My daughters arm looked exactly the same 20 minutes before we got there. This urgent care failed miserably and I'm more than happy to let anyone I encounter know about it. I would like my $35 dollars back that was wasted.Business Response

My daughter was seen at Wellnow in ***** **** on 5/25/23. I had to pay cash as I didn't have my insurance card. When I got home I emailed wellnow with my insurance information and was told allow 30 to 45 days for a refund. I called in July and was told they forgot to submit part of the claim. I sent a follow up email 8/21 and was told that they were waiting on Cigna. September 5, I called Cigna and confirmed the claim was paid 8/4/23. I would like my refund as Wellnow has been paid $165 cash from me and also paid by insurance.Business Response

The *** was 12/29/22. I paid the $25 which was for a COVID test and did not see the physician. I was told by the receptionist at the front desk that logged me in said there was no charge but I was still billed. I sent a letter along with evidence of my payment to this address but never received any response. However I continue to receive a bill for service. I decided to make the payment on Feb 4, 2023 through there automated system. However I keep receiving a bill. They need to research this through their system. I should not have pay twice because of their faulty system. I am tired of dealing with this harassment.Business Response
