In Re: Patents to Retail ************ was very disappointing and way overpriced for the service I received! The company stated that they would be sending my patent information on to companies that would possibly be interested. I asked to see the proposals...they refused to show them to me. I asked for the company names; I got those monthly. They began to duplicate some of the companies before long. I have no proof that this was done other than monthly email listing the company names.I found two actual product infringements; the contract stated they would be address infringements. The "Project Manager" told me she had the authority to determine that no infringement existed. She refused to pursue the matter. I had to request monthly reports several times. But, the very best one was when she sent me another cookie cutter report. This one was very obvious because she pasted my personal report with "****************('s)", whoever he may be. Her reply to me January 6, 2022 said, "So sorry, this is your monthly update though. Wrong name, yes."I never received any information or feedback as to any of the companies they contacted. I was told, at the very beginning, that I had a fantastic patent and they were very excited to assist me in further development, (and, obviously, to receive my check). "We are extremely confident we will have success with your product..."The very last correspondence that I received stated that "moving forward you will receive quarterly updates (every 3 months)." That was the very last time I heard from their company.Patents to Retail

Where have you been? I ask because now you decide to file this complaint yet the Non Exclusive Agreement was executed MARCH 4 2021, let me repeat 2021! The Agreement was for a 12 month time period which during that period you were given timely updates on the retailers, e commerce catalogs and other possibly interested contacts I have developed over 39 years in the business and never a single complaint until now. The Agreement expired end of February 2022 that's more than a year and a half ago and your last update was sent Feb 2022.
You mention duplicate company's YES that's true because do you have any idea how many different category buyers there are in any major company? Your Hand Held Clothing Iron could be promoted as a gift, in the housewares area, in the laundry area could be promoted at check out and more so of course ONE solicitation to Wal Mart or Target or Amazon would not cover all the possible areas we would attempt to stem interest in your product idea, so yes what appeared to be duplicates to you was actually offering to other procurement areas of the company's we represented your product to.
The two infringements you mention is no where in our Agreement that we would litigate and protect your patent that's up to your patent agent or attorney that handled you patent. Our job was to silicate your item for licensing and as I have looked in the file without being specific here we have a suggested royalty commission but you insisted on nearly DOUBLE our suggested royalty %, and I am sure that didn't make our offering any more interesting!
We liked your item and we have offered it to the firms we updated you on after all my company has licensed many items and around a dozen are actively right now being sold though Wal Mart Target Wayfair, Crate and Barrel Amazon as a Prime and others so yes we do give our clients the best opportunity to get the product presented but we cant make any one take it especially when you insisted on a royalty of nearly double of what we recommend. Now with your Agreement expired 3/4/2022 that's 19 months ago and now you decide to make a complaint?
This is unfair and not justified and trust you will remove the complaint and if not here's is my response and will take this up with the BBB to not publish this because it is well after the expiration of agreement and remember from our efforts and it has happened before we might just get a reply of interest so if you'd like us to respond and still represent you should interest materialize that's what we'd normally do but not if this rating stays.Review fromJessica A

I've never written a review before but just had to now. Patents to Retail reviewed my new patent pending product and their review determined that there were too many similar items already in the market place and advised me not to pursue this item any further. Very impressed with their determination being so honest with their review on my product when they could have taken more money from me than what I already have spent. So appreciate their review instead of trying to sell me on their service when they didn't feel confident in my product being a success. Bravo & thank you!Patents to Retail

After getting the run around by a couple of other company's I have dealt with in trying to get my patented item to market, I was impressed with the service and level of knowledge from dealing with Patents To Retail. Not only was the licensing specialist well informed and I felt was competent in his answers to my questions but was surprised that I also received a call from the ********** ********************* to explain further his advise on how we can move forward together in finally getting my patented item to the mass retail and especially the e commerce market place. Upon my ****** search they have clearly brought many licensed items to market which are now actively being sold. I feel confident in what the future holds and wish I would have started with Patents To Retail sooner. Heres to wishing my dreams come true!Patents to Retail

So far all that my money $$$$ has gotten me is a monthly emails from the Patents to Retail (PTR) marketing representative basically saying the same thing every month that they have presented my product to several companies, just naming different companies every month. When I emailed the marketing representative inquiring exactly what they are presenting on my behalf, they never responded back to me. I honestly believe that PTR scammed me for my $$$$. PTR told me how great my product was just to get my money and I am sorry that I didn't go with another company now. Looking for someone to purchase my patent now and forget all about PTR. Advice to anyone looking to do business with Patents to Retail, Don't do it! You'll just be giving your money away.Patents to Retail

I'm ********************* the owner and President of P 2 R and read with dismay your comments. I wish you had reached out to me personally so I may have had the opportunity to rectify your feelings about the service my company provided or in your mind what we didn't do to meet your expectations.I am available to discuss with you to rectify your thoughts. However, moving on we did provide on a timely basis the updates of firms as well as our retail and e commerce partnerships we have as to offering your product for license to and during the Agreement time there were no complaints from you. We can and did get your patented product in front of dozens of our contacts, but we cannot make them appreciate as you do the possible value of your idea for them to license it, but dozens did see the offering. After all I have been in this business arena for 39 years with 20 of my own patents as well as currently with over 2 dozen products right now being sold in the mass retail and e commerce market which means we have proven success with being able to get your idea in front of possible licensees, but you cant expect us to be able to make them take it on. I do apologize based on your comment you contacted my office via e mail and it went unanswered but that in and by itself does not deserve a 1 star review and our office phone number along with my direct e mail address ******************************** is all over the web site and the Agreement and just wish you would have contacted me directly for the opportunity to resolve your issue and still hope to hear from you to give me the opportunity to see what I could do.Review fromAmy G

I have been working with patents to retail on my invention. So far communication and product development have been great. We are currently waiting for the first shipment. Hoping to make the money I invested back via royalties as quick as I can. The hope is to exceed that and continue manufacturing spin off products. I will update as I progress.Patents to Retail

Your product should be hitting the mass retail and e commerce partnerships we have in August along with our advertising, sponsorship as well as SEO work our two agencies on retainer do for our licensing clients. Hope we together have another successful new product launch!Review fromLarry M

I invented, patented, and began marketing my product and it was selling.well, and then COVID hit. I lost my supplier. They had employe issues and dropped me with no warning. I was contacted by *** offering to manufacture and market my product through licensing agreements that they would acquire from their long list of customers. The *** representee contacted me monthly with a detailed report of the customers they had contacted. As I was running out of inventory, I inquired about signing a manufacturing agreement with Axis to make and distribute my product. Neither of these arrangements are cheap. I knew I had a good product, so I chose to make the investment and move forward. I am working with the owners of *** and Axis directly. We worked through the process of making samples and they have now completed the first production run. The product should be hittng the market very soon. To this point I have been very satisfied with all of the steps of the process, which has taken close to two years, and I am looking forward to seeing my product back in the marketplace.Patents to Retail

I was contacted by Patents to Retail, Jeff *****, Director of Sales, concerning a "licensing" agreement to market, produce and distribute a patent I hold. However, his proposal was that I pay Patents to Retail $8000 for their services...As I began to explain to Jeff that I wasn't interested in that type of "licensing" arrangement, he became angry and started insulting me while threatening that Patents to Retail would produce a similar type product with, or without me....I highly recommend avoiding any business relationship with Patents to Retail at all costs!!!Patents to Retail

I am Andy Berger the President of Patents to Retail being in business for 39 years with 20 U S A patents issued to me personally over this course of time. I have been successful in bringing to market literally hundreds of products worth well over $100 million in sales over my career. Once again, I find myself responding to a prospective client with a poor rating on my company which I strongly take objection to. Yes, my firm did contact John Adams because of an interest we did have in his patented item in the hope of reaching an agreement to license or bring his product to the mass retail and ecommerce marketplaces. My licensing specialist Jeff Davis did speak with him but after four decades in business and, hundreds of products successively brought to the market along with dozens of five star ratings here on the BBB with products that we have successfully licensed and brought to the mass retail and ecommerce market makes his accusation that my firm threatened that we would knock his product off and bring it to market if he didn't sign on with us is slanderous, untrue and simply made-up! In my view, because of his disappointment, we do come across other potential clients, who think a new product patent should be paid for. The fact of the matter is a lot of time, money and in my case well established contacts that we have has an expense involved and as I personally say when I speak with inventors with patents or new products if you have the cure for cancer no problem, no fee, but most products just like this prospective client who has a clever item and may have a place in the marketplace and may sell successfully but in order to get to that point time, effort, contacts and expenses are involved which should be expected by the inventor because of his lack of contacts and knowledge in this arena. Afterall, we have products right now listed and welling at Wal Mart, Target, Amazon as a Prime supplier, Wayfair, Zulily and many others and if I can get your product in front of any of these as the commercial goes “Is Priceless”. This is exactly why my company’s unique business model has been very successful and yes there is going to be a fee. I'm disappointed that the Better Business Bureau we’ll allow a rating when a client who hasn’t experienced our service or paid a single penny is just upset and can fraudulently make up the threatening comment this person said which is deplorable. I hope this detailed explanation for anyone who reads this absurd one star rating understands my rebuttal. I am always open and readily available to speak to any prospective client or current client.Review fromGuy K.

I reached out to the owner in regards to helping me sell a new product I had produced by another company that has been doing a poor job with marketing and website issues to get the product sold. Without giving Patents to Retail any money, the owner was gracious enough to offer some advice about how to manage the remaining inventory in Amazon and offered to have his staff help me at no cost. You wont find many business out there that will do this and I fully intend to use the company with future production, design, logistics, etc, moving forward. GKGuy K.
