I enrolled in a debt consolidation program Turnbull Law Group had, at first it seemed they were working with creditors. I was to pay ****** every two weeks to handle debt. I received notice that my account was under the amount needed to make payments to creditors. I was ask to pay 350 every two weeks. *************** had contacted an attorney and I notified *** to handle this situation. One of the payments were missed and had to add more money to account, then *** stopped paying all together and I was garnished through my work after paying 6500 dollars.Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to address ***** ***** concerns. We have attempted to reach ***** by email and by phone,beginning March 18, 2025.
***** enrolled in Turnbull Law Group on November 1, 2022, with $13,020 in debt across five accounts. In January 2023, we settled a smaller enrolled account. On February 3, 2023, ***** received a summons and complaint for the largest account, a ******* loan. Our team negotiated a payment plan with ******* which was filed as a consent judgment in May, 2023.Because it was a payment plan but ******* refused to reduce the balance,Turnbull Law Group collected no fee for this agreement. Of the 24 payments scheduled in the agreement, sixteen were made on behalf of the client out of the funds deposited into the dedicated account. All agreements and scheduled payments are based on promised deposits. During the timeframe outlined in the consent judgment, ***** missed three deposits into his Dedicated Account, March 2024, April 2024 and June 2024. Due to the reduced funds available, the agreement became **** and Void in September 2024. In October 2024, ***** notified our team of the garnishment threats received from ******** attorney, but at the same time, ***** also stopped depositing funds into the Dedicated Account, preventing any attempts to resume payments to Mariner.

I have been with Turnbull Law group since 3/2023 and pay $422 per month. At first my dashboard was available to me and I could see that very few of my payments or negotiations were being made with my creditors. Most of the monies were paying Turnbull. For the past 5-6 months I no longer have access to my dashboard. I have called, emailed, called, and emailed over 15 times. This past month I cancelled my payment because I no longer was allowed to see where my monies were going. I had complained over and over again, with the same "we have made a ticket" response. I am currently in the process of cancelling my account with them. The $422 has not yielded any pay-offs as promised.Business Response

I contacted this agency by phone on 1/24/25. I was told someone will reach out to me. Later on that same day I received garnishment information. I replied and sent info and received a next email stating it was recieved and someone will reach out to me within ***** hours.I waited and nothing. kept emailing and kept being told an attorney was going to contact me. On 2/10/25, i received a call, but I was driving and asked if someone could call back in 30mins or tomorrow. The lady stated she wouold call back the following day, she NEVER called back. Then on 2/13/25, I received an email, stating theyve been trying to get in contact with me to call the number in email. I called three times and left 3 messages. 01/01/2025 - Paid $7905.85 to them to pay off the rest of my creditors, removed the last three collections from the program to resolve myself. 01/14/2025 - Was told I would be out of the program after they made the last payment to creditor on 01/31/2025 and that they still had to take monies out of my account until graduating the program. 02/10/2025 to see when I would receive my balance $300+ and they said there was a disputed amount paid to creditor, and they would call me back. They never did. Called my representing attorney ******* ******, who did not answer, rather texted me back. I replied to his text that I need help. Never heard from him.02/14/2025, Noticed on their dashboard they updated graduation date from 02/13/2025 to 02/27/2025. I called customer service and spoke to customer escalations. Was advised it would now take another ***** days to close the program and refund my balance. I contracted with Turnbull for debt settlement, they failed to negotiate with ****************, even while collecting fees and withdrawing a monthly amount of ******. Well Fargo just removed ******** from my account which was slotted for my daughter's tuition fees. I am now unable to pay tuition and feel "taken" by this service that failed to negotiate as they promised they would on my behalf.Customer Answer

I signed up for debt consolidation approx 13 months ago and after a credit check, Turnbull Law Group request $390.00 every two weeks. Turnbull Law agreed to contact my creditors and arrange a reduced payment plan. The plan was going to be completed in 4 years. During this period of time I received civil complaints from two creditors. I notified Turnbull Law and asked why they haven't contacted these two companies and inform them that I hired them (Turnbull) to negotiate a settlement. On December 26, 2024 I contacted Turnbull Law and terminated their service. I was told that I had $1116.49.00 in my dedicated account and this amount would be returned to me. On 1/15/2025 I contacted Turnbull Law and they stated only $ ***** would be returned to me. The other amount was their negotiation fee.Business Response

I am writing to address a pressing issue regarding the recent settlement of my account with **********************. I had initially engaged the services of the firm to assist me with resolving an outstanding balance of $10,080. However, I am deeply concerned about the handling of the settlement process by the attorney assigned to my case.Despite my expectations, the attorney settled the account for $80 less than the agreed amount, while also charging over $3500 in fees without effectively communicating the details of the settlement. This has not only left me in a more compromised financial situation but has also highlighted a significant lack of transparency and professionalism in your company's practices.I have found the overall communication from their team to be severely lacking, with inconsistent responses and a failure to convey crucial information accurately. Yes, this is case number 227-85311. My name is **** ******* and I live at *****************************************************************. My complaint is I see my case as being fraudulent. I had the impression that the gentleman who I spoke to had me believing that he was very trustworthy and now I see how this country was able to do what it did to the Indians because myself being an African-American and the Indians we are very loving and accepting people but what you find out is everybody isn't like us but everybody who judges they judge us by the color of our skin but what I've noticed is the people who don't look like us are some of the cruelest people on the planet earth Anytime you can enslave a people and put their children, their babies in chains, but you can turn around and love dogs and cats. I don't know if that's human or not, but I find it very hard to believe because anybody could do something like that to another human. It's impossible to be human in my mind. But what I would like, I would like to get the money back. I spoke to one of my creditors this morning, and I explained to him that I've always paid my debt. But I did feel the interest rates was too high, and especially for African Americans, it could be a form of reparations that you people should be trying to give us to help in making this country what it is today. But I know that's impossible because we ain't no dogs and we ain't no cats, so we don't deserve it. But nevertheless, I would like to have my money back so I can pay my creditors off and I'd like to get my credit rating back the way it was. And I think that's only fair because I don't, I don't see how you come to this country, especially in ********, and we call it ********, but my people, we was here when he came, and now you come and you took over and you made all your laws that accommodate you. Nothing for the African-Americans. Nothing for the Africans, only everything for Europeans. You give them everything. Lost my job and called asked to stop the program that couldnt afford anymore bank withdrawals and asked for the withdrawals to stop. They convinced me to put a 30 hold. So I did when that was up they sent me another email reminder of a withdrawal. So, I called again and they said they would put another hold on my program. 2 weeks later I get another email reminding me of my next withdrawal. I called they said I was told incorrectly and I couldnt get anymore holds. And of course they couldnt stop the withdrawal because it was not requested 3 days before the withdrawal. And of course they only send the reminders 2 days before the withdrawal. So finally I cancelled the program all together. Guess what I just got another email reminder of my future withdrawal. I thought it was illegal to withdraw money from anyones bank account without their permission. I plan on reporting them to the attorney general and filing a lawsuit. *** I have my last phone conversation with them recorded and I am giving a copy to my lawyer.Business Response

For the last 16/48 months, I have been making regular payments to this law group for debt relief. i was advised to default all of my credit cards and my loans because they could negotiate smaller pay off. interest and late payment penalties grew to be larger than the bill in some cases. i have paid $560 for 16 months which is almost $10000. in November I was emailed about settling with a a loan. over 1 year later, no money has been paidand the loan company has no record of any lawyer settling any debt. i contacted the office and was given the run around. the website claims if I terminate my subtlence that I would be returned any money minus legal fees. the office worker informed me that I can terminate but they are keeping every dollar. i paid for a service that i did not receive and asked for a refund that I was not given.Business Response

We respectfully disagree with the allegations set forth by ****** ******. By email, ****** was provided with the settlement agreement letter and proof of payments made to Lending Point during enrollment in the Turnbull Law Group program. ****** was also offered a ledger of the full amounts paid during the program. We would ask ****** to confirm that it is in fact Lending Point that is declaring that they have received no payments. If ****** will verify this information, we have a process to rectify with the creditor what they have done with the funds they were provided.
