      Description of My complaint:
Category: RV- Campers Sales and Financing Complaint Title: Dealer Withholding Loan Disclosures Unless ID
      Provided Summary:
I contacted Camping World of Richmond (Indiana) on July 3er 2025 to inquire about financing on a travel trailer. I requested a breakdown of the loan terms (APR, monthly payment, out-the-door price). The dealership refused to provide this information unless I submitted a photo of my driver's license, even though I had already completed a credit application elsewhere through the same dealership chain. They ignored my rights under the Truth in Lending Act to review the terms before proceeding. After I mentioned the law, they stopped replying altogether. This appears to be a bait-and-switch tactic and violates fair lending transparency standards.

Our experience with Camping World has been incredibly frustrating. We purchased a camper on 06/06 and have yet to use it even once due to multiple unresolved issues. When we picked it up, it was closing time and all of the shop staff had already left, leaving us unsure whether to wait or just leave. From that point on, we’ve been in limbo.
We were never given a power cord—an essential item—which they claimed would be mailed to us. As of 06/17, we still haven’t received it. After getting the camper home, we discovered several problems and spent an entire day trying to speak with someone, only to be repeatedly brushed off.
Thankfully, the receptionist, Sammy, finally stepped in and helped us get the camper dropped off that same evening. It wasn’t until later that one staff member called to apologize for how he spoke with my husband—admitting they “got off on the wrong foot” and that he wasn’t aware of all the issues we were dealing with, despite several employees at Camping World already knowing.
The lack of communication and follow-through has been unacceptable. We’re incredibly disappointed and would not recommend this location based on our experience so far.

I was sold a 2025 camper that was supposed to be new and it showed signs it was used . We have had so many problems with this camper and the process of them fixing it was very slow and time consuming and costly to me. We have called the finance company to see if they would help us with these issues .They were no help at all they only finance them .I called camping world and they were not helpful at All . We are seeking help to see to get the camper fixed and to report there bad customer service .

Buyer & sellers BEWARE! i setup consignment of my RV, was told to drop it off for inspection. I dropped it off on a Saturday, and inspection was for the following Monday. Tuesday I had heard nothing so i called and was told Matt Jackson the person i needed to speak to was with a customer. I called Wednesday, same story Matt was with a customer. Thursday I reached Matt who stated " Oh good thing you called, I forgot all about this, I`ll have it done today and call you back by 5 pm. Friday I still heard nothing. So this Monday no answer, then on Tuesday ( 8 days after scheduled inspection ) same thing Matt Jackson was busy with a customer. I asked for the store manager who was off. I asked for the managers name and was told they cant provide that information. Then I asked when the manager returned, silence, then was put on hold, then they said tomorrow ( Wednesday ). I contacted customer service to what was going on. I received an email stating they talked to Matt Jackson who stated he emailed me a repair quote already. i received no email. Then later that day Matt finally called me stating he was going to email me a repair quote, and what was my email address. I asked what repairs were needed and he said I`m not going to discuss this with you, you can look at the email. He became rude and unprofessional on the phone, and said we are not going to buy or cosign your RV, unless you pay for the repairs first. The next day the store manager called and said the RV needed $10,000 worth of repairs, pay the bill and they would cosign it or i had 2 days to pick it up or they would have it towed away. Everything was working when I brought it to them. I can only guess this is a scam to get your RV in, hit you with a repair bill, then make more money selling it for you. I cant understand doing business this way. Not returning customer calls, fake repair bill, then threatening to have it towed away. Unbelievable. So BEWARE, again I say BEWARE!!!

I purchased a camper from Camping World that was advertised as fully inspected and ready for use, but the experience has been deeply disappointing from day one. When I got the camper home, I immediately discovered the battery didnt work, the front window wouldnt open, and the bathroom fan was nonfunctional.I had also purchased an extended warranty that was supposed to cover any necessary repairs. When I brought the camper back shortly after purchaseeven offering to pay for repairs out of pocketit sat for months waiting for repairs. During that time, the only thing that happened was they replaced a faulty battery and subsequently damaged the countertop, which then had to wait three months to be replaced. I also had to pay for a repair inspection for repairs that they were never able to complete. The front window was never fixed in a working manner, the fan was never replaced due to repeated delays and incorrect parts ordered (reason given by their service ***** and none of the issues were covered under the warranty I was sold. We were also told the damage to the paint would not be covered under the paint warranty they sold. The result? A camper sold under false pretenses of a full inspection, along with additional paint and repair plans that meant absolutely nothing in the end.Camping World did not stand behind their promises or products. I regret this purchase and cannot recommend them based on my experience.

We consigned our RV there. Were told different amounts and the paperwork did not reflect what had been discussed as in we were $4k short so they had to add an addendum. First off had to call 10 days in because there was only 2 pictures online. After being told they would share it on ********, they did not. Then, we asked them to lower the price. They never did. Asked them to share on ** again they never did. We decided to allow them to buy it since they were dragging their feet. Once again the amount was less made up things that needed to be fixed even though we paid $900 before even consigning. Were told the check would be fed exed. No check for 5 days. After calling they said they would check in. So we were told that camping world Richmond cuts the checks, we called there. We're told "the ONLY" person that cuts the checks is out with some type of emergency and that a supervisor would call us back. To no avail we phoned Richmond camping world again who said we needed to call Camping world Manassas. When I reached a manager in ******** was told they do not cut the checks. They were able to look up and see that the camper was consigned. Still waiting for a resolution. DO NOT CONSIGN with camping world you will get the lowest, lack of integrity and you WILL NOT GET PAID.

?? NEGATIVE CONSIGNMENT EXPERIENCE Camping World (2-Year Nightmare)Over the past two years, Ive consigned a 2021 Prime Time Crusader 5th Wheel through Camping World twice. Both attempts were a total failure.?? ****************** (Broken)Was told repairs were needed to sell. I paid for those.Come to find out: repairs werent even ******* updates or progress. No communication.?? Upon Pickup My ** Was Trashed:No keys, no paperwork.Inside looked ransacked:Found 2 drivers licenses and a high school ID inside (who was using it??)Furniture stained, cupboards dismantled, appliances dented, bed flipped, antifreeze and dead bugs everywhere.Clearly, the ** was used and not protected or respected.?? Management Communication? ************** returned calls from sales manager or GM.After a week, finally got a response but only after calling Camping Worlds corporate customer service line.Their idea of a solution? Offering me a $150 detail job (laughable).I was even told to file an insurance claim for an ** they let fall into disrepair!?? How They Treated Me:Rude emails from managers Excuses, lies ("itll sell soon!")Zero care for protecting my investment Regional customer service manager was argumentative and defensive Final Thoughts:Do not consign your ** here. They will neglect it, make false promises, and leave it worse off than when you gave it to them. Their business model seems more focused on using consigned units as bait to push new sales with zero regard for the consigners ************* REVIEWS before doing business with them. Learn from my mistake.

Im so frustrated that I dont know what to say. After almost two years of constant repairs and stress, I finally decided to give up on the *** It was supposed to be a great investment, but it turned out to be a money pit. Now, its too old to insure and was just informed that its not roadworthy and I shouldnt have even driven it off the lot. When I bought the ** in December 2023, I was told it was in great condition and there was no water damage. They handed me a list showing me everything had passed inspection. I drove it back home to ********, where my wife and our two dogs were excited to make it their new home. But the next few months revealed a whole lot of problems. The ** had extensive corrosion, separated tires, a cracked exhaust manifold, leaking batteries, moldy air ducts, holes in the roof, and many more issues. I'm a handyman, so I tried to fix everything myself. But I was always on the fence, wondering if it was all worth it. Finally, I made the decision to store it and move on.I believe that my decision is the best one. I would have spent about $50,000 on repairs (not including the $28K I spent on the rig) but I wouldnt have been able to insure it because of its age. I think Ill look back on my life and divide it into two parts: before and after I made that terrible decision of buying from Camping World.I dont recommend using this dealership for any used vehicles. Theyre not trustworthy.

Me and my husband bought a brand new 2025 travel trailor from Camping World in Ft. *****. The camper should have only cost $12,000 after our large down payment but we still managed to walk out of there financing $30,000 after all their fees, insurances, and taxes. I didn't have a breakdown of the costs when I got home. I had to go back the next day to get it. I was told the insurance would cover the entire camper inside and out. After having some issues directly after getting it home I found that was not true at all. I tried to see if I was covered under the manufacturers warranty but ******* just referred me to Camping World who has yet to do anything for me. I will never buy from them again. My sister just bought a camper from General RV Center in Ft ***** and is extremely happy with it. I would recommend them instead of camping world any day.
