That windshield broke by itself.

2/4/25 I had a company come to give me an estimate for installing a wood burning insert in our fireplace. They were there for 10 minutes, gave me a price, asked for a card that I wanted to put the purchase on and asked me to sign his phone showing they were there. There was no documentation, no words, contract, receipt or anything whatsoever. We did not schedule anything because it was winter and snowing and they had to wait till the roof was clear. Then I saw the vehicle they were leaving in and it was a 1980's van with duct tape and rust all over it and looked like it was going to fall apart. So I researched the company further and found they are terrible. I called and told them I did not want them to do the work and they said OK. I called several other people to get the work done and most phone numbers led to this company. They are using peoples individual addresses and phone numbers that all lead to them. Then I see a charge for $247 on my credit card from a company in DE and it ended up being from these scammers!! I called Discover to dispute it and have spent a lot of time on the phone and fulling out forms and then they tell me they can't do anything because the Scammers Policy is non-refundable. I tried to leave the scammers a bad review but they have it blocked and have lots of fake companies that are all blocked from leaving reviews, and the only reviews that people can see is the ones left by paid people.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:**The response from Discover is that "The scammer has a no refund policy". Of course they do, they are scammers!
**Discover will not do anything because of the no refund scammer policy.
**Attached are 2 pictures. I hired them to install a wood burning fireplace insert. These pictures were taken 5/6/25 and as you can see no work has been done even though the scammers say it has been and that I'm happy. One picture is of the items still in the box.
**I signed their blank screen. They said it was to show they were physically at the appointment. There was no verbiage, contract, receipt or paperwork of any kind. They showed up to give look at the job and give me an estimate
**I have been with Discover for 18 years and have never had 1 dispute, complaint, missed a single payment and have paid my bill in full every month. Now I have an issue and they are siding with the scammers because of their no refund policy.

From 3/4 -3/25, I had fraud claims on 3 credit cards for same time period: ******************** and Discover. I called all 3 CCs when I discovered the charges, and all 3 promptly removed the charges when I agreed to sign a fraud affidavit and press charges. However, on 5/7/25, Discover put the charges back on my card without my permission/knowledge. I called & sw them to inquire why they put the charges back. Discover advertises customers are not responsible fraud charges so I was confused. I was informed that since the charges went through Apple Pay, they are not considered fraudulent By Discover. I told them I did not understand, and they kept repeating that since the charges were made via Apple Pay, they don't consider them fraud, but their advertising does not state that! I was shocked! I was told they will send my case to a review board again but was also told not to be hopeful as they were pretty sure I was going to still going to found responsible for the charges??? I was livid! I asked what I was supposed to do and was told to call Apple Pay and ***** I called Apple Pay and was told Discover was responsible as they don't approve charges. **** told me the charges were not made on my **** account! And still the charges are remaining on my account, I have to make minimum payments while a "committee" reviews my case??? Can you help me? At a minimum this is false advertising. I got a discover card it last year with a #*** security deposit. Discover told me after 6 on time payments on the card , and later they tell me all my other accounts have to be on time , which they are . I applied and was approved for a Discover personal loan. Throughout the application process, I spoke with an agent on the phone to complete any steps. After I completed those steps and toldI was approved, the agent asked me for my bank account information so they could directly deposit the funds in my account. Then when I checked my account today for the status of the loan, I was told they were sent out with a physical check.During the application process, I was asked to provide my physical address, but not my mailing address. and since I was never told there was a possibility that it would be sent out via check. I did not confirm they had my mailing . The way my community works is that we cannot get mail delivered to our physical address so we have a post office at the community with different mailing address that all **** mail is sent to. Anything that is received with the incorrect mailing address is returned to Center. I dont have an option to redirect the mail. So I called Discover today to see why it wasnt sent ACH. They told me it was due to a security reason, which is fine. But when I asked if they could reissue the funds they told me it had to be sent to my physical address. They also said there was nothing they could do to update it to my mailing address. So I had to cancel the loan.I called them today, asking if they could remove the heart inquiry on my credit report because I dont feel that its fair that they keep it on there when they couldnt do anything to help me with the loan. And if I had known there was gonna be an issue like this in the first place I wouldve never applied. Now I have to find a loan with another lender and because I have the inquiry on my credit I may not get as good of a rate. I spoke with a manager as well and they said they could do nothing.I would like to have the inquiry removed from my credit.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:when I applied with an agent on the phone, I gave them my house address as one would do when an application or anyone asks for your address. I was never provided the option to provide a mailing address. When I spoke with the agent on 5/5 when applying for the loan I was told they would disburse funds to my bank account. They never advised that it could be sent via check. So after finding out that they tried to mail it to my address there was nothing I could do because they refused to change the mailing address.

Discover bank unjustly closed 3 of my accounts and is not telling me the reason why. They are just telling me it's a business decision but they have implied its fraud. Discover debit went down and we were not notified. We went to a restaurant and were not able to pay for our meal because of this. We had to call someone to come pay for our meal. We had sufficient funds, but could not use them. This was humiliating and I could not discourage anyone from using Discover enough.Business Response

Between the dates of late June to January I had my belongings stolen from me and used to make a cash app for identity theft use that was an estimate of $13800 worth of money taken from my discover debit card. Ive been going back and forth to cash app and discover to dispute charges so I may receive a refund. Even while providing substantial evidence that stated I was not the one who claimed the money, they keep going off the mistake of me confirming said transaction by text Y or N. When I only saw my Apple Music bill and what was thought to be a bill called square cash. Separate from what I see on my bill as I thought this was my loan. Theyve denied several attempts to redispute the charges as I gave them supporting document that stated I was not the owner of the account or the account had been shut down. He turned around and made a cash app and possibly spoofed my number to make it sound like it was me that called cause I wouldnt confirm anything unless I was certain. I told your *** a couple days ago that I also confirmed the transactions by mistake cause I thought it was my loan and Apple Music, As it said square cash. Cash App is lying! It doesnt take much to authorize anything supposedly, cause all you gotta is link somebodies card to the account and start using it.

I disputed a case against ******************** I'm not going to place details here as it's sensitive information and you all can pull up the case file. Here are my issues:1) I never received any email notification for this case until today, may 6, telling me that you all can't do anything more with this dispute.2) I then filed a case with the CA attorney generals office.3) Then I pulled up my online account because i received another email telling me there was a message waiting for me about the dispute.4) I see the status for this case saying that the chargeback has been issued on may 6 5) I see the message that was left for me asking for more documentation. I have provided all necessary documentation for you all. If you're not able to open up ****** doc links that you should say so. There is simply not enough space in that text box for all the info I had. I also attached a screenshot showing the receipt.6) I need to know why your agent made an old dispute case active and marked the case I have against ******************* as resolved AFTER sending me an email telling me they can't move forward.What's going on over there at Discover? Why have you all made this a big mess? You all need to clean this up, not me. It still shows on my online account in the disputes section, an old case was made active and it shows that a chargeback was issued in regards to the copy collective.I gave you all a ****** doc link that explains all the information that you need. It also provides proof of what I'm explaining in my complaint.
Are you not able to access my ****** doc link? Why wasn't that mentioned in your response to me?
I have already gone to the attorney general's consumer hotline for the state of ca as that's where the business owner resides. It's very apparent how incompetent the disputes ***** is for discover. I will make sure in the future to NEVER make any major purchases/important purchases with discover.

I think it's hilarious that you're going to say this issue is resolved when you still haven't acknowledged that there's a case that's been marked as a chargeback having been issued when it wasn't and there's an old case marked as active that shouldn't have been.I will send you all to the attorney general's office. Then you'll have to take care of this.
