I received a notice that I have a collection from DISCOVER BANK on my credit report. It says it was opened on 11/15/2022 for $6,138 with account number starting in ************ that I am not aware of nor am I responsible for. I never went into business with this company or signed any agreements with them so they should not be reporting anything on my credit. This is a violation of my rights as a consumer according to the **** and FDCPA.I would like for this collection to be removed asap or I will file a CFPB and FTC report.Business Response

I made a purchase for $223.65 for golf clubs. I received counterfeit merchandise, and took the merchandise to my local golf shop to have this confirmed. The items were confirmed to be counterfeit, and were confiscated and destroyed per manufacturer policy. I filed a dispute with Discover card, and they chose to ignore the proof that I provided and claim that the charge was valid and I would be responsible to pay for these items. This is completely unacceptable.Business Response

I am getting bills at my address for someone who has never lived here ( ******* Krishna ********). I have asked Discover to stop sending bills for this person, to no avail. I suspect this may be fraud of some sort as this person has never lived at this address. Discover continues to send bills etc after being asked not to, and having multiple mailings returned to sender. If Discover continues to send bills to this address, I will file a police report as I suspect it may be linked to fraud.Business Response

I received an email asking me to verify my information, but I did not realize that I had the email until I was on the phone with a representative disputing some charges. I immediately provided the social security card and my ID using the link they provided. During the phone call, I was told that they could see my submission. They told me that I needed to wait until the team responsible for the revision of documents reviewed and approved of such information. A week later I received an email saying that my account was close because I did not provide the information. I immediately called, and they told me that they did not receive it. I asked if I could re-submit it. They told me that the decision was final. I explained that the email had gone to the junk folder, and that I submitted it as soon as I was informed. They said that if it did not have the correct submission date, my information was not valid. A previous agent had also made a note on my file of the day when I got notified on the last day, but it seemed that it did not help my question.Business Response

My Discover Credit Card was hacked on Oct. 7th, 2022. I knew within an hour and contacted Discover. The lady at Discover said we talked to you this morning. NO! My address and phone number had been changed. She said it looks like the call was dropped after they had asked for my mother's maiden name, twice! How did the info get changed then? I never received an email stating my info had been changed! I have called and talked to over 30 people trying to get answers and to try and get this resolved! It took 4 phone calls and going through 21 people to get my cash back rewards back into my account! I had not received a bill, thinking it would be late because of this mess, so I did some investigating. Discover sent it to the hacker's address!!!!!! I then called 3differnt times talking to 19 people, begging for them to send me a bill!!!!!! I told them to email me a new payment coupon with my correct address, still nothing! My bill was due Nov. 4th, and I finally received a copy of the bill Nov 8th. I called Oct 31st and ****** told me I would have to pay a late fee; he was one of 7 people I talked to that day. I also had a vacation planned and kept telling them I need this resolved, so my card will work while I'm out of town. It worked the 1st day on my trip, then it was denied! Again, I called, well your bills not paid! It showed online they had received my check! Then the manager said all you need is $350 payment and you have that in cashback rewards. He would not let me use them; he said it takes 2 business days! I believe Discover allowed this to happen! I now have a credit freeze with all 3 credit bureaus! No one has reached out to tell me about their investigation! They need to be accountable! All their calls are recorded, so they need to use that and figure out this mess! Now the hacker's address and phone numbers are on my credit report. Thanks to Discover's lack of security!Business Response

On November 23rd I attempting to buy an item from Newegg.com using PayPal Pay-in-4 (installations program), which would charge my Discover credit card $227.51. When I clicked the Pay button on Newegg, Newegg's system logged me out. When I logged back on, there was no record of any order occurring. Meanwhile on PayPal's end, PayPal declined the Pay-in-4 attempt and voided that hold. I called Discover and they told me that they couldn't void the hold and that it would take **** business days, of not being able to use that credit, but that I had enough credit left to purchase the Newegg product. So I tried again, this time the charge was $204. and again ****** logged me out, didn't put the order through, PayPal voided the hold. So now I had over $400 of ghost charges on Discover that I couldn't use for Black Friday. Finally after six days, the two pending charges were gone my Discover credit card Recent Activity statements. I bought a product for $71.01 - or tried to - and I received an email from Discover that it was declined because I only had $52 of credit -- even though the statement showed that I had over $300 of credit available. I called Discover and was told that although the two Newegg charges totaling $432 had disappeared from my statement, they still saw it on their end. Therefore I have no other choice but to not use my Discover credit card indefinitely because I can't even trust what their statements say.Business Response
