      Hello,

       

      I reviewed your ledger and have removed a late fee that was charged incorrectly in June of 2022. I also removed the late fee charged in Oct 2022. You have a credit on your account now. I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for brining it to my attention. Next time please reach out to the Area Manager and give us the opportunity to fix the issue before reporting to BBB. Human errors do sometime happen :) We appreciate your understanding. Have a great day.

      We corresponded via email that an early termination fee would be waived due to unlivable conditions in the first three months of living there. Four months later, I am sent notified that I have been sent to collections after believing that I did not owe the complex anything.

      Hello,

      Thanks for your email trail. I see where the office stated they would remove the fees. 

      I have provided the revised move out statement with all fees removed for breaking the lease. There is a charge of $504.37 that is due for rents due up to move out date. If you make that payment we can let the collections office know to remove this from the credit reporting agency they reported to.

      However, I have recently sent payment of $1,181.80 to *************** Systems who are in charge of this debt collection. Is there any way that I can receive a refund for the difference of $677.44?

      I previously filed a complaint with Northridge Apartments, and I accepted the change in the ledger. I added a message to the acceptance letter stating that I would like to receive a refund for the payment sent to *************** Systems regarding the alleged debt. Also I have gone through the ledger sent as a result of a dispute through major credit reporting agencies and I still owe too much on this ledger. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I want to set this thing straight. I have attached supporting documents for this change in amount owed, as well as the documents used in the previous complaint.

      If you have a refund coming from the *********************** you will have to contact them directly as we have no way to get that for you. They are a totally different company and we don't have access to their money or accounts. 

      As far as the balance it is for the rent for the days you were in the unit. The break lease fees were removed, so this is the balance due.

      I have attached two ledgers that have been sent by Northridge Apartments. One is dated April 27th, 2022 detailing the owed balance according to Northridge Apartments. The second is the Moveout Statement sent by ********** to BBB dated October 10th, 2022. There is a discrepancy in between these two ledgers. While the termination fee has been waived, other fees not mentioned in the previous ledger have been added. I also have proof that there was no balance as of April 1st, 2022 from a ledger sent via email to me from Northridge Apartments. From what I have read in these ledgers, I should not owe Northridge anything and I should be refunded $188.50 after removing the termination fee from the ledger dated April 27th, 2022.

      I have been living in my apartment for two years now, and during my residence here, HI Management took over. They are impossible to reach, with any concern or complaint, and I have received no response from them for months regarding numerous issues. They still have not fixed a hole in my roof, which is possibly because every time we put in a maintenance request, they seem to be getting a new maintenance crew because they can't pay their maintenance workers enough to stay. Back in May, our air conditioning system went out completely and was not cooling the home anymore. I called Management to submit a maintenance request, and our Property Manager did not pick up, which has become the norm here. I called and emailed, and got no response. Finally, I left a message to the effect of "If I don't hear back by the end of the week, I will call a third party to come do repairs." Still no response by the end of the week, so I called a third party company and paid for the repairs to the apartment's AC for $145 on May 27th. The next day, after it is repaired, our maintenance man shows up and informs us that he was only just informed that afternoon.I sent the invoice to Management and asked if I could deduct it from rent, and they ignore me. It has been months, and I have received no response. Now my lease is up , and I get no response on whether they'll reimburse me for the money I spent out of pocket due to their negligence. ******** is responsible for the maintenance of AC and utilities as per our lease, so I want to be reimbursed.

      *****************************, who is on the lease alongside me, has specified that he has not received any email nor any phone call from the company nor local property management. His last email from the Villas whatsoever is from back in July, regarding other issues. We even just went over his emails to be certain and double-check, to make sure that we did not miss anything by mistake, and there is no email there. He has received no messages in his voicemail, and contact was never made with him over the phone. He is not satisfied with anything, because he hasn't been reached out to. I have still attempted to call the property manager since leaving a complaint, and have left voicemails asking her to reach out to me via phone or email, and she has done neither.
