We had very little issues with our internet, but cancelling service is an absolute nightmare. We moved to an area that did not offer metronet. I called to cancel it 2 weeks before moving and returned the equipment within 2 weeks after we moved. We have been charged every month since and even received a charge for the equipment that was returned. I’ve called about 6 times to get it resolved and each time someone says the cancellation wasn’t pushed through. We were also offered a credit which we still have not received. I’m not sure why it’s so difficult to cancel the service but would never use their services again based on how much money and time have been wasted.

My advice when dealing with Metronet is to have everything you are promised in black and white and not rely on what is maybe stored in the cloud somewhere. And, then only take it with a grain of salt. Not even 3 years after being promised a life-time rate "lock" if I would switch my ISP, they have twice hiked my bill. Their explanation is that the increases are a nonnegotiable "service" fee'
I never thought I would regret switching from Mediacom.

They offer you a promotion where you receive a $200 Visa gift card but lie and give you the run around and not send it to you. I signed up in Dec 2023. Was told it would be in two months. Received an email asking where I would like it sent. Never received it. Scamming and lying.

We are a small business that rely heavily on internet to operate. On 7/16 /24 our internet service was not working which meant we had to shutdown, we tried reaching metronet to resolve our issues and we did not get help as the phone lines were long and there was no response to our email. This ordeal was going for several weeks. On 7/30/24 metronet sent a technician to look into the issue, the technician could not resolve the issue and left. I walked to the local center and asked to be helped and I was told to call customer service which I have been doing with no result. The technician said there is nothing he can do to resolve the issue and that it is ok to look for an alternative internet carrier. Having been without internet for this long we could not function and the only option was to cancel and look another provider. No one from metronet responded to our email to this day. Now we are being penalized and told to pay fees for signing up with another providers and this is wrong. Metronet failed my business by not being able to provide the basic service which we signed and paid for. We are are a transportation company and with no internet we can not schedule ride and neither can we do dispatch. during this time we have incurred heavy loss. we would like metronet business owners to look into our case and carefully reconsider. We had no other option to function other than signing up with other provider.

Two day outage and Metronet can’t do anything to fix it except continue to bill me for service that is down with zero estimate on when the issue will be fixed. If you love paying for nothing this is the company for you. Glad we have other options that are cheaper and seem more reliable like T-Mobile and Verizon home WiFi.

Metronet destroyed my gate and refuses to pay for it. The install crew routed the line over a sidewalk and around the perimeter of my yard to the back of my house. The drop crew showed up a couple of days later without a boring tool of any sort, and proposed they would just "bury" the line on top of the sidewalk. The drop crew left my gate banging back and forth in high winds until the post cracked. The top gate hinge pulled out, and then the bottom was left bent in half. They're response was to put in the notes that "it was like that". After trying to get reimbursed for 3 months, they finally decided to decline my attempts to get reimbursed for the damage caused.
I did have their services for all of 2 or 3 weeks. During that time, they had installed the wrong equipment, and I was getting service below the level I was paying. Even with the correct equipment, I got substandard throughput and latency when compared to other local providers. I have since kicked them off my property.
I would advise steering well clear of this company and their services.

Though I do not have their services, i have had to endure the poor practices of the Metrnoet co.. The "hub" for my area receiving Metronet service is in my yard, and every time that I recall Metronet burying a cable, they damage my interrnet line which stops my internet service. Calling Metronet with the complaint has not fixed the issue, nor are they proactive in making amends. Tbis is very frustrating!

Our internet service has generally been good and the prices are fair. Their service is truly awful. MetroNet has had to run a new line across our driveway four times in the last three months.
On April 22, 2024 our lawn was being aerated. The aerator severed my neighbor's fiber optic line (**** ******** ****) because, as it turns out, the line was buried about on inch below the surface. Both our MetroNet lines are buried together and go through my yard.
The techs came out and ran a new line to our neighbor over our driveway and across our yard. And there the line stayed until it was eventually buried on June 31. During that time at least two other techs arrived at our home to do a "drop bury" of the line. These techs talked to us, looked at the job, and then got in their vehicles and left. My neighbor and I were calling MetroNet about once a week during this time and each time we were promised that the job would be "expedited". It never was.
On June 31, the FINALLY buried the line for our neighbors. In the process, the "drop bury" techs severed our fiber optic line in five places (this according to the tech who came on July 2 to run a new line for our house). That July 2nd tech promised that it would be buried in 7-10 days. It took 15 days and they again severed our fiber line.
They came out to fix it on July 19th and now, for the 4th time in 3 months, I have a fiber optic cable running across my driveway (held down by duct tape) and across the length of my front yard. I have full confidence that the next MetroNet tech who shows up (whenever they decide to show up) will again sever the line while burying it.

Zero stars, actually - I have requested multiple times to no longer receive mail & have been told multiple times it would be taken care of within a certain amount of time. I am still receiving their mail well outside the projected time period.

Have only had Metronet 2.5 months, and we have had a total of 10% downtime. 10% of 2.5 months is A WEEK! And 72 hours of that have been consecutive after an “overnight maintenance”. Had a tech come out to check the modem and router and he deemed them functional, meaning our downtime has been an issue of the ISP directly. We have gone through all steps of troubleshooting the problem, and we are now left with no answers aside from, “we can’t identify your issue currently”. We have lights in our house connected to WiFi that we cannot use as a result, as well as our thermostat and some of our security system are also WiFi connected. Do not purchase their services no matter how cheap an upfront cost they present. It will never be worth the quick discount.
