Purchased July 31, 2023 a Keystone Cougar 23MLE. (traded in our 2021 Keystone Cougar 23MLS). Was not able to take home as there were issues with brakes that were not working properly with our vehicle. They kept the unit for a few days and they adjusted them. We picked up unit a few days later, had the unit at home a few days to pack up for our first trip. Tested water tanks, etc.. and realized that there were two issues: sensors were not working at ALL for any tanks and the fresh water tank would not allow more than 11 gallons to be added.. Took to the dealership for resolution of issues on August 7th. They worked on unit and indicated all was good. We went to pick up unit and tested it on site- issues WERE NOT resolved. Service member indicated "they cannot figure out why it is not working now. They are not sure what to do." ************************** of ******* World to express our concern. Had a conversation with ******* ****************** and informed them that we do not feel comfortable paying $55,000 for a defective RV. We are very concerned about the service members working on the unit and not sure what they are doing as well as having the underbelly removed at least twice now. We are requesting a replacement unit or getting our unit that we traded in - back to us. Have not heard from General ******* for a few weeks now.. and have not heard back from Corporate either. We have called several times to Gen. ******* and left messages. No return calls AT ALL. Talked with Keystone RV customer support as well and feel we are not being taken serious about our concerns we have with the wiring changes made in the unit as well as the underbelly being removed at least twice. We are requesting a replacement unit OR we would like our unit that we traded given back to us--- with no financial hit to us for depreciation of the unit that they could not get fixed and had to take underbelly off twice...... That is what we are requesting. **** and *******************************

Thank you for contacting Keystone RV regarding a complaint initiated by Mr. and *************************. Keystone RV provides a one year limited base warranty along with a three year limited structural warranty at the time of purchase. To date, we have not denied participation within these warranties and it appears that repairs are complete. Should a future issue arise, we will continue to address warranty concerns in the same manner. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/25/2023

       I am rejecting this response because:  We believe that we should not have to pay $55,000 for a defective RV.  They have had the unit since August 7th and we still do not have the unit.....Keystone was told that the unit/work was completed by ******* ***** but that is not the case... the work is not completed as they still have our unit. (We live 10 miles from ******* ***** and stopped there yesterday, Sept. 24th and our unit/work is not completed ...).  We have called several times (left 6 messages over the past few weeks)  to talk to the General Manager after our initial conversation with him and he has not returned ANY of our calls. We talked to a service manager and she was not even aware of both issues we had reports on August 7th so not even sure if the 2nd issue has been looked at yet.  We then received a call from **** in Service and he asked about our issues and promised to call us back that afternoon of the 18th with either good news or bad news.. promised he would call us back. No response.  So we called and left him a message on 19th and as of today, 25th, we still have not received a call from him. (We are getting HORRIBLE customer service from ******* ***** in dealing with this issue but also feel that Keystone has failed us because this unit apparently was not inspected prior to leaving the manufacturing location and as well not tested by ******* ***** before selling the unit.  It is now Sept. 25th and we have not received a call that the unit/work was completed so they did not give Keystone correct information. We have left messages and nobody is calling us back at all.  We had requested back in August when they were not able to figure out the issues and how fix them, that we be give a replacement until or we would want our old unit back (that we had traded in for this unit). We are not satisfied with ******* ***** AT ALL and not happy with Keystone.  We purchase new campers every few years... but we will NEVER purchase a Keystone unit or purchase from ******* *****!  **** and **************************;

I Purchased a brand new ** because of the advertised "best in Industry Warranty" just over a year ago. After using it several times I was doing the roof inspection and noticed one of the roof panels was loose right behind the rear **. The only thing holding the panel down is the Membrane. The water was pooling around the ** unit and not running off the roof like it was designed. After contacting the manufacturer and them telling me this was included in the 3 year structural warranty and defects in workmanship. I brought it to a repair facility approved by them to have it repaired before it tears the membrane and caused thousands of additional dollars in damage. The dealer submitted the claim and then Keystone denied it. When I called them to inquire why they said they will not repair the defect in workmanship unless it is leaking. Because it will void the Membrane warranty. I asked if they will fix repairs to the ** when it leaks and they said they cant tell me that. When I asked to talk to a manager they put me on hold . I never got to talk to manager and they said they will note the file and that's it. I asked if they will be paying for the dealer fee since they denied the claim they originally said was covered they said no and pretty much hung up on me. The dealer sent all the photos and and recommended that it be repaired or replaced . It is my understanding from reading the warranty for the roof membrane that the manufacturer already voided the warranty when they didn't install it on a properly secured and prepared subsurface to ensure pooling doesn't occur . Also creating a subsurface that is not free from foreign materials that *** cause damage to the membrane and cause it to prematurely fail.

I purchased a 2021 ******* Lantern 17B ** trailer from ****** (dealership) and Keystone ** (manufacturer) in April of 2022. In November of 2022, the trailer had a serious defect discovered when I came to a stop while towing it. The whole cabin slid forward on the trailer frame about 3 inches, bending the frame and brackets holding the cabin to the frame. I notified the Dealership about the issue and they informed me there was a manufacturer warranty covering frame damage. Keystone provided a transportation service for the trailer to be returned to ******* from ************** in March 2023. Upon receipt and inspection of the trailer, Keystone informed me that the trailer was irreparable and presented me with two options via phone call. 1- receive money to pay off the loan for the trailer or 2- receive a new trailer. I opted to receive a new trailer. After signing paperwork, the new trailer was delivered to ******* ***** on July 19 2023. I was NOT informed of its arrival. I had to call the Keystone Representative because I was kept in the dark throughout the whole process. The loan for the ** is still active and therefore I owe money for something not in my posession, nor do I think Keystone will actually provide the trailer for me. After many phone calls and emails to ******* ***** and Keystone **, I was never informed of when my trailer would be available for me to pick up. I am currently in the military, and will be leaving long term for training in October 2023. I will not be here to pick up my trailer, so I informed the Keystone Rep via email that I no longer wish to receive a new trailer and would rather have the money to pay off the loan. In short-Little communication from Keystone ** I have not received the new trailer after almost 2 months from delivery to ******* *****. Now I no longer wish to have a new trailer due to military obligations.

On March 22, 2023, I purchased a 2022 Keystone Bullet Premier 26RBPR from ******* in ***************, a recognized dealer of Keystone ** products. During the manufacturing process of the Keystone Bullet Premier 26RBPR, a critical error occurred. Keystone ** initially cut the furnace hole in the wrong location on the sidewall of the trailer. Realizing their mistake, they subsequently moved the furnace hole to the correct position. However, the manner in which they poorly patched over the incorrect location hole was both inadequate and negligent. This patch was structurally compromised and, in effect, concealed a significant defect in the sidewall of the trailer.Failure to Disclose an Adverse Material Fact:My complaint is rooted in the alleged failure of Keystone ** to disclose this Adverse Material Fact to me before I made the purchase. I firmly believe that the existence of a defect of this magnitude, one that compromises the structural integrity of the trailer, should have been transparently communicated to me as a prospective buyer. Furthermore, it is a known industry fact that recreational vehicles with sidewall damage or delamination are stigmatized for resale value. As demonstrated by ***********, a reputable company in the ** industry, exterior damage is a critical factor in determining the value of **s.Acknowledgment by Keystone **:To support my complaint, I would like to draw your attention to an acknowledgment by ***************************, Customer Support Manager for ********************** **. In an email dated June 28, 2023, ****************** explicitly stated, "it is a defect in manufacturing and workmanship from Keystone." This acknowledgment validates that this defect existed and confirms that Keystone ** chose not to disclose this Adverse Material Fact. This was not the only model available, and given the chance, I would have naturally chosen a model without sidewall damage. This damage will always be a problem in the future (noted by the first patch coming loose).

Thank you for contacting Keystone RV regarding a complaint initiated by ****************. We would like to be clear that this complaint is centered on a recreational vehicle, not real estate. It does carry warranties therefore, if there is a belief of a manufacturing defect being present, we would recommend following the normal warranty repair process. If determined to be a defect, it will be authorized for repairs.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/01/2023

I am rejecting this response because: I'm well aware of the warranty and its process. I'm using the warranty process for the defects in both slides not functioning correction, the shelving not being attached correctly and flopping up and down while not being able to hold weight, misc. loose trim, missing screws, etc. I will re-attach the pdf for your review of ALL the items that are in service at the moment for warranty work.

This complaint is about the fact that Keystone RV knowingly cut a hole in the wrong location, patched and painted it, and then concealed that information from the dealer that I purchased it from. This isn't a warranty issue. It's a concealment of facts issue. The very first question on GoodSam.com is: "Does your RV have any exterior damage (including any separation / delamination)?" ******* ***** will only take a trade subject to: "This is pending  current mileage, inspection, repairs and any replacements and maintenance records." They are well aware of the maintenance records and have stated the value is significantly lower as a result of the exterior damage and repair of the mis-cut furnace hole.

If recognized dealers of Keystone RV feel so strongly about this question being answered, why does Keystone RV feel it is exempt from answering it and disclosing the answer to a potential buyer of one of their RV's?

I will reiterate again, at the time of purchase, there were several 2022 Keystone Bullet Premier 26RBPR travel trailers available. Had this information been disclosed, I would have NEVER PURCHASED THIS ONE, with "EXTERIOR DAMAGE".

Given the opportunity I would have purchased a different 2022 Keystone Premier 26RBPR without exterior damage that would forever impact it's resale value.

Does Keystone RV take the position that known exterior damage has no impact on value (now and in the future)?

Thank you for the additional reply however our response will remain unchanged in this matter. We certainly stand ready to assist with any and all warranty claims that *** be received to us.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/19/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

It comes with a warranty to cover issues that might arise after the sale if they were unknown before the sale. However, this particular issue was known(and concealed) before the sale and should have been disclosed.

If it affects my resale value, it should have impacted my purchase price. However, as an uninformed consumer without this knowledge, I had no idea I was paying for a new travel trailer with sidewall damage and a subpar repair. Had I known, I would have either 1) opted not to purchase or 2) negotiated a lower price to compensate for the potential loss upon resale. Regrettably, you never presented me with that option.

Regarding your warranty process, my travel trailer remains in your authorized dealer's service department, where it has been since June 19, 2023. I visited unannounced after being told on multiple occasions that all the items were repaired, only to find out that no work had been completed. Due to this, my new $40,000+ travel trailer was unavailable for use during the entire summer camping season because of your company's shortcomings.

Keystone **** your customer service has been thoroughly disappointing. You've had ample opportunities to address and rectify this situation. I chose your product based on a prior family purchase. It's time you take responsibility for the product that left your company. Shame on you.

I purchased a brand new 2022 Kodiak travel trailer on 6/19/23 on 6/24/23 we picked the trailer up from the dealership. When we got home with the trailer I found out the trailers water system would not supply water pressure to the faucet. We were scheduled to leave on vacation with the trailer in 1 week. Nobody that was a Kodiak dealer locally could work on it before we left so we had to use it the way it was. While on vacation we found a long list of items that were either installed wrong, breaking or just stopped working. After coming home we tried getting the trailer in for warranty work locally and after weeks of call to dealerships, manufacture and independent repair shops we could not get anything fix. I finally was able to get a appointment in ***** ** and we took it to them. They only fix 2of the ************************************************************************* the ceiling they noticed that the roof membrane was damaged during production and they sent it out that way. They did replace the roof membrane but now it looks like a rebuilt trailer roof. I have made 13 calls to the manufacturer since August 5 2023 and they have done nothing to get the trailer either repaired in new condition or replace it with a new trailer. The list of repairs needed range from walls coming loose, doors installed wrong, shower and toilet leaks, drawers falling apart, dinette table base pulling out of floor, windows installed wrong

I purchased my second Keystone Cougar in less than a year. Because of all of the issues with the first camper, I traded in and purchased a new 2023 25RES model in March. Our first trip in the new trailer, the temperature outside was a high of 78 degrees. Inside the trailer got over 80 degrees.I called the dealer and they had me bring it over to run diagnostics, and came back saying that everything was to Keystone's spec. We take the trailer out on a trip in July, temperature outside was a high of 98 degrees, and it got up to 96 degrees inside the trailer. To escape the heat, which is one of the reasons to purchase a trailer like this, we ended up with my 130 pound ***** sitting in my truck with the ** running. I call the dealer again, who again has me ***************** over to them to run diagnostics. They say it was all to spec and that Keystone would have to be involved in order to do anything about it. They told me the test is to run the ** and stick a temperature probe inside the small vent, and not actually monitor the temp in the trailer.I contact Keystone, explain the situation which I was told they would have to speak to their Manager and get back to me. I made an offer, as I'm a reasonable guy, that my trailer is pre wired and pre setup for a second ** unit which based off of my experience it should have come with by default, and for that reason, I would be happy to pay in part for the ** unit (discount for frustration and experience expected), and I wanted Keystone to pay for the labor installation fee. I received a response that they are denying the request as this would be considered a modification which they respectfully decline to participate in. I point to their literature about how the trailer is already setup for a second **, and they decline again, this time stating they refuse to participate in the second ** at this time.Keystone believes that 96 degrees inside the trailer is expected and by design. Pic is before it got to 96 degrees.

Thank you for contacting Keystone ** regarding a complaint initiated by ******************. It appears that it has been determined that there is not an issue with his AC unit. The ** he purchased can accommodate an additional AC and it would have been offered at the time of purchase as well. Should he want to move forward with that upgrade, we would recommend contacting his authorized dealership to assist him through the purchase process.

I am rejecting this response because:

At no time have I suggested that the ** unit included is defective.  The trailer was poorly designed to the point that it is not meeting the expectations of the advertised literature.  Please see the following:

      ******************************************************************************************************

      FOUR SEASON CAMPING
Best climate protection in the industry. Tested to a temperature rating up to 110F and down to 0F. 12V tank heaters included.

More information about this false claim can be found at this link as well:

      *****************************************************************************

This is false advertisement.  The *** being pushed by the ** unit is not enough to actually do anything to cool the inside of the trailer.  Again, nobody cares what the temperature is inside the tiny vent space.  It's what is in the actual living space that matters.  96 degrees inside the trailer while 98 degrees outside, or even 84 degrees when it was only 78 degrees outside is not acceptable or living up to the advertised literature on Keystone's own website.  I tried to come to an amicable solution to this issue with Keystone by offering to still pay some money towards the second unit, but due to this misinformation, frustration, what they put myself and my family through designing such a poorly designed unit as it comes to cooling, they need to own up to this and participate in making it right.  Attached are also pictures where the dealer has also confirmed the issue that I have described in their own testing.  In the pictures, you will be able to see where the test started at 71 degrees with thermostat set to 71 and throughout the day, the temperature just kept creeping up.
