Health Insurance Market Place has been "Auto enrolling" my daughter and I for 2022 and 2023. I have tried numerous times to get them to stop each time it has been unsuccessful until March 17th of 2023. With them "Auto enrolling us then sending 1095-A with thousands of dollars that we had to claim on our taxes and have had to forfeit tax returns to pay this all back. We did not ever use this program and did not enroll in 2022 or 2023. The company refuses to cancel this retroactively as requested. We never filed any claims, or were even aware that we had been "Auto Enrolled" until just recently when we filed our taxes my accountant informed me. My son has been living with me since July 2023. He was officially adopted on July 31st 2024. He has been living with me for the entirety of 2024. His prior father, who has access to the records with the Marketplace, had his rights severed and has not had custody of his own child for years. I am needing his 1095-A to file taxes for the 2024 year. I called the 800 number for ************** and faxed them proof including the finalized adoption paperwork and his new birth certificate showing my name as the father. The wife was looking around for health insurance and got a quote from market place health and it was high so we never started it but they did we never used it now they are taking 384 dallirs from my taxes and it's wrong cause we never sent money to them to start it she was looking around and I'm trying to find out how they can take money from my taxes when we never started itInitial Complaint

I just separated from my job and googled ***** to open enroll and extend my health insurance. This company came up and they had my information on file, I guess when you apply for ***** the world of insurance companies have access to it. Long story short, I was told that I was signing up for the same benefits that I had before and actually at a lower rate of which I paid for. Then a few of my co-workers said they experienced the same thing and that it was not what it said it was and I wanted to cancel. I was able to sign up through a legitimate ***** ****** ****** **** and secured my same exact policy. I needed the policy for March and I signed up and paid on February 19th and it was February 26th when I called to cancel. They were EXTREMELY difficult and very rude and put me through all of these questions as to why I was cancelling, they wanted to take care of me and then when I kept saying that I was not interested, they would hang up and drop the call. They charged me 2 payments, I am assuming one was for commission; one was for $851.36 and the other was for $126.85. They did credit my ******** ******* back for the $126.85, but not for the $851.36 that they said they would. They said that I would see the larger credit back on my **** in a few days as the larger one "takes longer to process". I have talked to ******** ******* and they are investigating to get the refund credited and I have blocked them charging it again as they said it would be auto monthly billing. I am only writing because this outfit is 100% a scam, has horrible customer service and is only in the business of taking credit cards to set up auto billing. Thank goodness I put it on my ****. The person who "sold" me the policy and then would not help me cancel it was "********* at ************* My other co-workers said they had the same issue with this companyInitial Complaint

The marketplace insurance activated a insurance policy without my permission utilizing my information i received insurance cards in the mail AROUMD 1/1/25 for this that i did not request i was told the agent that activated the account is ******* ******* ** ****** ********. I reached out to the Medica insurance ************ and was told i needed to reach out to health marketplace ************** to terminate the policy ASAP due to fraud as they are the ones that provided the policy i was informed they would investigate and cancel the policy since then i have received new id cards two times having to call the health marketplace again to report it . on 03/06/2025 i received new id cards once again after speaking with the marketplace two weeks ago but this time i called Medica again and requested for a supervisor to review the account as this is fraud and the account keeps becoming activatedInitial Complaint

They have all my old information on file and when I called and told them I have not lived at the address in over almost 2 yrs, they stated I had insurance claims with an insurance I was unaware about and refuse to cancel my tax information and said that I can do an appeal but I never received information and they keep sending all paperwork to the old address after being informed for about 2 months I have not lived at this address in over 2 yrs. I called about insurance. I was told I would get a packet. I never received a packet. I never filled out anything. I received a letter stating I owe 3000 dollars. I never used any insurance. I tried calling to dispute. I first called and waited 2 hrs. The person asked , if this is fraudulent. I said, yes because I spent noting. I was told they'd call. So, I got a call from ****** ****** care, around a week later. I missed the 2 calls.l, now they're not responding. The waiting and not answering, seems like they're just trying to make it hard so I give up. Had they informed me, I'd have to pay, I would've said no, right away. There is so much information that wasn't given. I figured the packet would explain. I never seen it and never signed anything. I just want to file taxes without be punished for money , I didn't spend. It's all supposed to be canceled. I'll keep trying but this is crazy.Initial Complaint

This is the second year in a row I’ve had to call them after filing my tax return due to supposedly having a health insurance through them which I have never had. I am required to call them and have a letter mailed to me stating that I did not have insurance. Every time we call they say that my address on file is wrong and nobody can fix it until I get a call back. It’s been four weeks. I call weekly to follow up and they say there’s nothing they can do. I just have to wait. This insurance is not honest and upfront and did not explain any future tax implications. The provider list that they use on their website is not current. Very misleading to say the least. I canceled the insurance very shortly after signing up because every time I tried to make an appt with a "participating provider", the providers office informed me that they did not accept ********. This happened three times. Other specialists that I was researching at the time told me the same thing, that they haven't participated with ******** for over a year. I started to have less and less confidence in this insurance and wondered if I had been scammed so I canceled. I was reassured over the phone when canceling that I owed absolutely no money. The policy was from Jan 2024 to July 2024. Fast forward to income tax season and now I've been informed that I owe 3000.00. What?? For crappy insurance that I didn't use one single time. There needs to be an adjustment to reflect that I didn't take one penny and had no claims to justify me having to be penalized so severely during tax season. Outrageous!
