Absolute scam!! Bad weather coming through the city we vacationed in due to an impending hurricane. We called the operating company and they told us to to our booking company, Viator. They gave us the run around for 4 HOURS! Told us we would be getting a full refund. Sent us a bogus first confirmation email. Time started getting close to our scheduled time for our experience and nothing. We had the foresight to call; to find out we will not be getting a refund and almost lost our money. We ended up calling the operator directly and working out our experience. This company is a complete scam that has no policies in place if a paying customer wants to cancel their experience for whatever reason may be. Do not under any circumstances work with this company in any capacity.

I went on a trip to ******************* with my son and booked several activities that were canceled by the operators. Viator promises a full refund in 3-5 business days and its been well past that time without a refund and they won't respond to my communications either. Do not book through them!

I had two great experiences booking with Trip Advisor and one that will make me never use them again. The website was stuck in a different currency and timezone, even though I repeatedly changed the settings at the bottom to the local ones. I thought I booked a trip at the correct time but did not. The day of, I contacted the tour guide to see where they were and they told me of my error. I asked them to cancel my booking. I could not rebook as we were leaving the next day. The guide told me that I had to so I did. Then the guide canceled it. Trip Advisor kept 100% of my money regardless that I got nothing in return. They say the time to cancel is 24 hours in advance and it must have been 23 hours and 50 minutes when I cancelled. $171 lost and nothing at all to show for it. I can't recommend a company that does this to people in a foreign country. I still have not spoken to a human regardless of contacting them on their website, through ********* and email. The phone number they list goes nowhere. The contact me page is just a ********** of help articles that don't help.

I wish I had read these reviews before. They booked me for the incorrect date and now wont transfer my fee to the correct date. I am still working with them and the tour operator and hoping to get resolved. I will think twice before using them again.

SCAMMERS! Stay away at all cost I've booked 3 different excursions with this company for 3 countries for 23 people. It was the WORST decision ever. From the 1st excursion until the 3rd I was dealing with so much back and forth with this company it was absurd. After they took over $3000 from me and my family we're left with a bad taste in our mouths. After paying online for those excursions, they failed to tell me that some of the same activities that you think you pay for online will require an additional entry fee. They're so in a hurry to take all of your money and not very helpful to explain in details what they cover all the way or partially. They're not very clear with details on where to find those tours operator. The description given online is never it. You'll ended up waisting half of the excursion time trying to find who was supposed to pick you up. Please take it from me, run as fast as you can when you hear the name Viator. All you'll be left with with this thieving company is disappointment and High blood pressure Incompetent customer service ************ will rob you blind

They say they match prices but when I found a cheaper price I called and each time which was 6 they tell me they are sending an email for Me to send the info and when Indo they say they need more info. The company that is cheaper is the tour company they actually go thru. I told Them I already sent it 6 times to look up the site themselves and Intold them what it was and said its the first tour on the site so theres no looking around. Since they wanted me to email them the site I am telling them what it is and they can look on 1 minute while I am on the phone. So obviously if they reimburse they wont make anything and hope people will give up on fighting them.

Up *************** encounter, I have been using this company for quite sometime. I will never use their services again. I scheduled a pick up at the airport to take me and my elderly mother to the hotel. They left before we were able to get to the pick up point. The plane was late, and the fine print claims the company will monitor flight times. The company lied and said the plane had already landed, when clearly it did not. Viator was not supportive, and I reached out to the company several times to no avail.

Purchased 9 ********* tour tickets in PR through TripAdvisor/Viator for a total of almost $700. One person could not join us because they were not feeling well. They refused to refund me. The tour was a hike so the person would not have made it through the hike. They still refused. Also, they sent me a request for a review and I provided honest feedback. I later realized they screen their reviews and never posted mine because they only post positive reviews.

Wished I would have read previous reviews about Viator before booking. April 2023 while in *****, booked a tour of ***** for 7 people thru Viator for the next day 4/7/23 cost: $389. There was a description of "Hotel pick up" next to an icon of a bus. So as I book it thinking an actual bus would pick us up & take us to each site. Yes, walking is involved, we understand that , but because of the bus icon, insinuates bus pick up & walking when reaching the sites. But after I booked the tour company starts messaging me that the hotel pick up was via "walking" & that if we wanted actual transportation we would have to pay on our own. ***** is extensive & the " customized tour" offered is scattered, & in no way walkable from each site (example the *************). Since tour was booked a day before & no longer within 24 hours of cancelation, Viator refused to refund saying description was accurate as walking tour. Tried to dispute Viator customer service with no solution, so disputed with credit card company & initially refunded but Viator re-charged again. I am beyond frustrated & probably won't get a solution for this. But would like consumers to know how inaccurate Viator describes what it offers versus what you get after the purchasing. After seeing their "Grade C" 1 out of 5 stars reviews & reading descriptions of other frustrated consumers of their outcomes, I hope to notify other consumers ahead of time what could happen.

Booked a 2 hrs boat trip. $250 for 2tix.Got a call 2hours b4 departure. My 86 yr old Dad in Assisted living fell and was being taken to the ** by ambulance. I called Viator and explained what happened. I just wanted to change from a morning trip to a later time same day. I was told by the person on the phone since I didn't notify them 24 hrs in advance there's nothing they can do. I was very nice and explained I just wanted a later time slot. Which was not even close to being sold out. She said No. Right on !! Way to do business and way to treat people. Ridiculous
