      Purchased books from the company in march 2023. The company enrolled me in a program that charges my credit card $14.95 per month for the last 10 months without my consent. I called twice and stayed on the phone for almost an hour only to be told they will only refund 6 of the charges because that is the company policy.

      I noticed a charge on my credit card and checked my account on Christian ***** and didn't see anything for $16.95. I purchased a Bible under a month ago and per a BBB search ChristianBooks is charging everyone a membership fee. I have never signed up for a membership. This is a bad practice and scam. I would like a refund.

      I just got charged ***** membership fee for a membership I didn't sign up for and was unaware of. I would like to be taken off of this membership that I had no clue I was even a part of until I looked at my credit card statment.

      I somehow got enrolled in the $15/mo membership program at Christianbook.com. It automatically withdrew from my PayPal, and everytime I tried to log into my account, I couldnt log in or find the charges, then got sidetracked (Im a teacher and mom of two small children). I finally got in touch with customer service and they claimed I signed up. I NOT enroll for programs that cost AND I always make a note on my phone calendar to cancel free trials. They said I clicked something about a rebate. I checked my email thoroughly and could not find a confirmation email or receipt for any of this. **************** refunded six months, but not the full nine months, basically what I would be able to contest with my payment method. I called and emailed, but I have been stonewalled by customer service. I am so disappointed in this ***************** and their shady practices.

      Placed order ********* for delivery of books said in stock birthday party for *****. Was charged for this item as well as other books # ******. It was not included as ***** for our new grandchild. So disappointing not to mention paid for backordered as per invoice.

      Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the availability of A Birthday Party for ***** wasn't clear to you when you ordered. The item is now expected to be in stock by January 10 and we'll ship it to you as soon as we receive it however if you'd prefer to cancel your backorder we can do that for you as well.

      Also, we never charge for items until they ship so you haven't been charged for the book yet. So far, you've only been charged for the items that have been shipped to you, which totaled $42.68.

      I'm a homeschooling mom. I order curriculum from ********** providers so I thought it was convenient to order from ChristianBooks from various vendors for the applicable subjects. In March 2023, I placed orders from ChristianBooks. In the order information, I saw a button indicated I qualified for a $10 voucher. I selected to button to redeem the voucher. Beware: Selecting the $10 voucher button enrolls you somehow into a recurring billing membership. ChristianBook already had my credit card information due to my purchase history. I had no idea I was being charged ***** for a ChristianBooks Rewards membership. So each month starting from my March 2023 purchase until November 2023, I had no idea was incurring recurring charges. I was out of the country in November 2023. I didn't use my credit card because I was out of the country. I was watching my bank transactions closely and behold, I saw a $***** charge to Christian ****** I have called three times since November 2023. Refunds have been promised. A couple of reps have stated electronic refunds takes 2-6 business days. One rep said they are only allowed to refund going six months and no further. In my situation, I was billed for eight months. I was told I would get refunded for eight months. I got an email receipt after my November requests indicating I would receive a refund. I called today December 14, 2023 and ******* can't give me an answer on why the refund didn't show up electronically in my account since November. ******* says that someone should call me back in 72 hours. She doesn't understand the delay.It is this arduous and time-consuming to get recompensed. I want all homeschooling parents or any supporters to please BEWARE. I am very shocked this many complaints on the BBB are regarding the same claim about ChristianBooks billing/enrollment practices. I'm very shocked. I am further shocked at how long and arduous it is to get renumeration from this.

      While they provided an apology, they didnt provide a definitive answer on when I will be refunded. I have called four separate times to get a refund. On November 23, 2023, I was told I would see my refund.  On November 24, 2023, I called again about a refund status. I was told in 2-6 business days. I got a dubious cancellation email that explained that credits on the membership should have a refund by the 15th of the next month. I have no idea if the email meant my refund wouldnt show until December 15th. So I waited and there has been no electronic refund back to my bank account.  I called again on December 13th and I was told that the refund should have happened 2-6 days after my November 23rd call.

      I dont understand why I havent been refunded after 22 days.

      I will wait a few more days to see the full refund of $119.60. I only see four refund lines from ChristianBooks totalling $59.80. The remaining half of $59.80 is yet to be refunded. 

      Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.

      I am in agreement with the many who complained already about this deceptive practice. This company offered free shipping for our over $100 purchase. Apparently (as it was not clear nor concise) this signed us up for a monthly fee/membership program. I never received a notification, nor a warning that a "free trial" was ending and charges would begin. I finally was aware of it after seeing it on a credit card statement. We immediately cancelled and tried to remove our card information. I do not trust this type of deceitful business who isn't clear and forthcoming with their fees and programs.

Since our order did not include a promotional code you were charged for shipping and were offered the opportunity to receive your shipping as cash back by signing up for our Christianbook Rewards program.

      Continuous fraudulent attempts to charge my credit card causing the card to decline and change cards numbers!

      I bought a bible and a few other things through Christianbook.com in May, 2023. I did not sign up for any reward program. I have a automatic credit card payment and did not realize they have been charging me $14.99/month since June for the reward membership. I called but they did not reserve the charge. This is a scam and need to stop.

      I ordered a book from Christianbook.com in August. There was no indication at that time that I was signing up for their membership program. Searching my email inbox, I never received any kind of confirmation or anything informing me that I was enrolled in this program. I realized today that Ive been charged $16.95 a month for the last 3 months ($50.85 total). I want this money to be refunded to me. I canceled my rewards membership when I realized this was happening. This is a dishonest practice from a *********************.
