1 starI purchased chicken salad from produce department last week (approximately june 10 or june 11) While eating it for lunch this week I bit into it and found something extremely hard and unedible.. I pulled it out and it was a long bone. How could this have passed any inspection before putting on shelf . I nearly broke my tooth or nearly worse and couldve choked on it. What if a child or elderly person was eating this? Since having this experience now i no longer trust my own local grocery store and afraid to eat anything without inspecting it first. You should be ashamed of yourselves a store as big as yours serves such poor quality.Additionally, I emailed customer service multiple times with no reply . They finally replied weeks later and stated I can bring my receipt for a refund . Who saves receipts for weeks and responds to someone like that after finding a huge bone ? 1 starThis review is being written because stop and shop and their peabody system abuse the medically affected and the elderly.I unfortunately had surgery. I am forced to use *********** service.I started having issues when I saw that stop and shop was charging me double the amount I owed them. Not only double but more than the actual price.I spent hours going back and forth between stop and shop and my bank. Stressing each time because I am limited to how much money I have since I can not work while trying to recover.Today I finally got an answer from one of their service ********** only do they put a hold on the a tual money spent but they put a hold onto 110 percent of the mo ey spent. Hence, charging you more than double. Then they release the money. This has affected by bank account and in addition its been 4 days since they put a hold.They then say there is nothing they can do. This is horrendous practice that is not explained anywhere! Nowhere is it listed that they will be charging and double charging the people that use this service . Basically taking advantage of the ill and elderly. In addition...there is no way to get to corporate to discuss this policy. Beware! Corporate thievesReview fromJohn K

1 starToday I went to the store to buy angel **** cake mix. They did not sell angel **** cake mix. I went online and was presented with opportunities to buy angel **** cake mix from the store. In the past I have found that they advertised Truvia sweetener as an on sale item, and they do not sell that size of Truvia Sweetener, and there is not even a place for it on the shelf.Review fromKatherine B

1 starI have purchased tens of Stop and Shop gift cards for a school fundraiser. In the last several months, the gift cards stopped working online. I have spent many hours on the phone with customer service both for Stop and Shop and the third party vendor that sells the gift cards. Not a single person has been able to resolve the issue. The vendor sent a replacement gift card, which similarly does not work online or in the store. I have left two messages for managers at Stop and Shop, and have not received a call back, and on one occasion was on hold for a manager only to be disconnected. The issue has been reported many times by customers and is well known by both companies, and still there has been no movement toward resolution. Unacceptable. I now have $600 worth of gift cards that I have not been able to use for several months. I will be filing a complaint with the ********** of ******** Protection.Review fromDeborah K.

1 starI generate an online grocery order every 2 weeks. When I type in the **** I am automatically blocked. This has been happening since February 2023. The message I receive is "You have been blocked". This happens to many people. IT is aware of it and does not fix it. They especially do this after I have placed an order and they have my money. I have to call Customer Support who asks me for my IPv4 and IPv6. I've called so many times they know what it is but they ask anyway. In order to log into this site, when I receive the message that I am blocked, a notice on the site says that I am typing too fast or there's a robot on my network. Yes, I type over 200 words per minute. That is official. But when I try to log into their site, I slow everything down. I still get that message. I'm also told I do not have javascript working. Yes, I do. When they block me, they put my IPv4 on a list automatically. Nothing happens until I call corporate, which means I'm put on hold waiting to talk to somebody in support. They always ask the same questions, I waste ************************************************************************* advance, they do not let me. So I have to wait for them to write everything down even though many people are calling. Then they tell me a note is going to IP to fix it and they will call me. They never call me. They got my money when I placed the order so they do not care when this is fixed. This has been going on since early February 2023. Today is May 2 2023. They obviously have a programming bug. They should not be putting me on a list and preventing me access to the site. Yes, that's what they do. Their programming has a list and when I get blocked, my ipv4 is put on it and stays there until IT feels like taking me off. It's a common problem. They should have a list of people they should not be putting on this list. They shouldn't have a list at all. They're preventing me from modifying my order. I'm a senior citizen. I watch a women pack two stop shop shopping bags with 3 bags a Frozen Sea Scallops, Bacon, Meats, Big Bags of Chips, Candy and More I went and told the worker who was over looking the workers for the night she much as said so what she didn't care I was **** off especially if I'm paying for my food and I'm watching a Women with medical clothing on who always comes at night and steal it's a habit at nights this happened on April 28,2023 around 8:30pm st ************* 105 ********************* Do you know how I felt when the women looked at me and laugh and walked out the store and I'm using my last $50.00 struggling to buy my Grandchildrens food.Stop & Shop Supermarket Company

1 starThis is the second time I have been racial provoked and profiled in this store. I was not even going in to shop, I was going to my bank which is located within the stop and shop. When I finished with the teller I decided to pick up to frozen *************** dinners since they were on sale. As I was passing back I saw the had entenmanns little bites on sale. It was buy 1 get one $1. I could only find 1 of the banana flavor so I walked around as I knew there was another display. I finally walked back to self check and asked the woman were they would be located and she mentioned they were right behind me. Now I had a bag on my shoulder that I had my wallet and groceries I purchased at ******* earlier, so I never put anything in that bag except the circular I was reading. When I finally purchased everything, got my receipt I put the items I bought in a paper bag. As I was walking out a women said hey I wonder whats in the ***** a relaxed, joking kind of way. I l shrugged and slid one arm off my shoulder and said take a look, but when I realized she was actually leaning forward to look I asked. Who are you? why? She said she was LP and by the checkout and seen me put something in my bag. I asked really what? She doesnt know. I said whatever it was it was not a item in the store. I walked out. My ride was parked right in front so i actually sat down put that brown bag down and b4 I was about to pull my other foot in and close the door, I walked out and went back in. I asked the woman, *****************************, for her manager because I want to know what was seen and by whom and where is the camera footage. She told me it was no footage, she followed me and watched me at the register. I was appalled. I was profiled as soon as I walked through the doors. When the manager came, I remember him, and his face of annoyance and discontent when I had an bad experience, and I told him, Your the guy who didnt help me last time. He said I never met you. 1 starWow. Today was literally the worst shopping experience of my life. It started out with the purchase of a few items. One of the items purchased today was intended for immediate consumption. When I put the item in the microwave to cook it, I was quickly met with a rancid smell. The item was rotten. This isnt the first time this has happened at this store since its an item I buy regularly. The issue only happens at this store. It is likely being caused by frozen pallets of food being allowed to go above the allowable temperature for frozen items, thereby allowing bacteria and/or mold to grow on or in the item. It is a public health issue since it could result in food borne illness. Its happened a few times, but I havent complained until today due to the low price point of the item. Ive seen mold on this item once before.Today I decided to complain, and the only thing worse than the smell of the item I purchased was the level of customer service, or lack thereof, that was rendered. Nobody would give me their name or role at the store when I called, so I went into complain. The customer service manager, ***** called the police because she didnt feel like rendering any service to a customer that spends thousands of dollars per year at her store. The police didnt even ask my name because the call was so absurd and recommended that I complain to the BBB. Ive never been treated like this at any other stores in my 46 years of life. Completely unacceptable. If this is how the managers of the store act, what do they expect the associates to act like? They set the example. Ill never step foot in that store again, which is unfortunate, because now Ill have to drive out of my way to be treated with respect.Review fromGinger G

1 starI've attempted to call in prescriptions at the pharmacy and if they only have partial prescriptions on the shelves the staff either doesn't fill the prescriptions or the pharmacy staff waits till the customer shows up at the ********************** and indicates that they only have partial prescriptions available and ask the customer(s) if they want partial prescriptions filled. 1 starMy daughter went into the Stop & Shop located at ************************************************************************* at about 10:45 PM on 7/29/2022. My daughter called me whispering because the person on the loud speaker in the store announced that the store was about to close so the customers should get their "asses" to the register! Whoever it was said it again because I was able to hear it repeated while on the phone with her. I was appalled! This would never have happened in a more diverse or predominantly white neighborhood. Such shameful and disrespectful treatment to their customers. Also a blatant display of unprofessionalism. I hope this does not fall upon deaf ears. I strongly suggest this store be monitored and the staff trained or retrained on professionalism and customer service. How dare they speak to their customers like this? I should not have to go outside of my neighborhood to shop in order to get proper treatment. I would love to know if this is addressed and the customers can expect better customer services.
