I am a sworn peace officer in CA. I purchased a brand new beretta 1301 shotgun for 1300 bucks plus fees for duty use on the job. I knew about beretta’s one year warranty and trusted it. It was falsely billed as combat or duty grade shotgun. I got it and waited till I had a two day class to qualify with the shotgun(department required). Never fired before.(oiled it) Went through the class and fired 300-400 shells. The gun would not come apart. Oil nope. He man nope. Rangmasters no help. Something was broken. So I check with Beretta and they take it to check the shotgun. Wait time was 3 months for anything to be checked. No updates-you have to call. Call about 6-7 times and never any updates. They say you can check on the website, but that doesn’t work. 3 plus months later someone finally calls. Covered by warranty. Cool. Call back a week later. Yeah it’s well within a year and there’s a warranty but uh we don’t actually honor that. Ok. Brand new gun never fired first run and it breaks and not covered by beretta. 90 bucks and they will fix it. One week later it is fixed, They immediately ship it back to my home address without telling me. No email. No call. No letter. I’m on vacation. First time this year! for 5 whole days. Thankfully I can call UPS, pay 12 more bucks and get it delivered again. Wonderful. Get the shotgun back!! One of the spare screws for the stock is literally left in the action. It can come apart though. A glib note saying I should clean my shotgun left by beretta. Difficult to clean a gun that won’t come apart because it broke. All in this process took 4 months.
I have been a cop ten years and gun owner for longer. Things break, but beretta does not honor their warranties and makes a product that cannot stand up to duty conditions. They purposely set up a system with rude and unhelpful employees who either don’t know or don’t care.
I will never buy another product from Beretta again. Buyer beware.
