I have been with constellation for 3 contract cycles. They have always been helpful and respectful. I read through a handful of complaints with people upset their bills have increased at an enormous rate. This has nothing to do with constellation. The company is provided a service and product comparable with others in the areas. We found the gist is a bit lower and I have had it repeated to me that I can adjust my contract once per 3 year contract for free. AND I could get an additional adjustment for a fee of $100. I will continue to do business with this company because they have been fair and responsive.

Constellation Energy was recommended to me. When I called they promised one rate and lied. They did not deliver the rates as quoted. They had additional fees that were not explained. I actually asked about the additional fees when I called. They did not share all of the fees. Fraud. Simple as that.

I have only been with this company for three months and I am so sorry that I chose them. I came home from work one day with my power off. I was on hold for 59 minutes and finally got someone that looked into it for me. Supposedly, somebody had called in saying that I was moving from this address and it needed to be cut off on a certain day. I live here with my husband and we own our home. I would never move out. I asked them to please turn my power back on. He said he would send it to his supervisor and get it reconnected as soon as possible. This was at 6:30 in the evening. By 11:00 PM in the 95° house, I called their emergency line not once but five times. They said they would call encore and get it fixed. Nothing happened. I was without power for 24 hours in 95° weather and my refrigerator food was spoiled. I have yet to be able to talk to a manager. I want nothing more than to be out of this contract

Constellation is a crooked business. They steal your money and then blame it all on you. STAY AWAY. Never use their service. It is better to die of frostbite than utilize their services.

No one in Texas should even consider doing business with Constellation. They will take advantage of you at the first opportunity. For my entire three year contract I was on autopay. I was the ideal customer, and I did not expect anything to go wrong. When my contract ended they made no attempt to contact me to negotiate a new fixed rate contract. They simply took advantage of my loyalty by withdrawing amounts from my account that are 3 to 4 times the competitive rate for retail energy. Because I was on autopay I did not notice until the end of the summer, at which point Centerpoint had taken over $1,200 dollars more than is reasonable for the past three months. When I try calling to request a refund they proceed to blame me for not negotiating a new fixed rate contract, even though they made no attempt to notify me that my contract was ending. Then they offered to credit me the current bill but ONLY if I sign a new fixed rate contract at 50% above the competitive market rate for energy. My belief is this is an intentional, predatory business practice. They send payment reminders and confirmations monthly via email, yet they suspiciously do not send an email notification detailing the end of the contract. In 2022! They also don't even bother calling me when my rate doubles, then triples, then quadruples in consecutive months. I've recently had other companies email me three times to remind me my monthly subscription will increase from $30 to $35, or even from $10 to $12. Finally, their website offers no information on the details of the contract which is unheard of in this age for any subscription service. The actions of this company illustrate a pattern of intentionally predatory behavior. Any reasonable person would agree. It CAN NOT be the responsibility of the consumer to keep track of this. Imagine if I were elderly or a young adult just starting out. Predatory business practices like this drive people into debt and homelessness constantly. It is shameful.

I was moved to Constellation Energy some years ago, I initially signed up with ************ and I guess Constellation bought them out. I have always been happy with this provider, even as a month-to-month customer, and even when we had the winter freeze here in Texas earlier this year. I was on a contract when I initially signed up, but once my contract ended I went month-to-month. For YEARS I have had no problems. The last 2 months I received a bill for over $600 and this month almost $800!! I called 2 days ago to get a fixed rate and the system was down. The agent and I discussed the rates and plans and I was ready to make it happen, BUT Constellation's service was down, so the agent said he would call back, he also gave me his info & ext. to call back if I didn't hear from him. Today I made the call again, but got Luis...he told me the previous rep was busy but he could help me. By the end of the conversation, he was literally mocking me, not letting me get a word in, and talking to me like I was a child. I asked to speak to the rep I was originally working with and he told me he would pass the word along, only before letting me know "he's going to tell you the same thing I just did, and that's why you should accept what is given to you at the moment it is offered!" and hung up on me! After 14 years of being with this energy company, it took one unprofessional act for me to walk away. It is not even worth my time to try to call and speak to someone else. I just changed energy companies. As an Army Veteran who has heard, put up with, and been through A LOT, I can honestly say Luis is the worst customer service rep I've ever spoke to in my life. Sadly, because of this instance I will never go back to Constellation.

Constellation Energy automatically charged me 4x in one month. This is still an open issue that has been ongoing since June 2022. Upon trying to get it resolved, I have so far received 3 different answers from 3 different agents. The newest excuse is that the CenterPoint readings were not correct for previous months and they were charging me to make up for their "misreadings." To let you know, I was not once notified by CenterPoint OR Constellation that the readings were off. They just charged > $400.00. I can't even access an invoice or bill explaining any of this. I have wasted many hours of my life on this garbage company and would advise against doing business with them as they fail to communicate with the company and the customer suffers for the wrongdoings and mistakes!

Requested Switch from ******** Utilities for Aug 1, 2022. To be done no sooner than the 14 day allowance timeline of July 15, 2022, to prevent an Early Termination Charge from ********. Constellation switched earlier than requested! Has NEVER happened to me.....
After 45 min wait times on the phone trying to resolve with Constellation. 2 different attempts. Cut off billing cycle (coincidentally?) at 10 days and 960 kWh, which by the way prevented me from receiving the >1000kwh credit of $35. Hmmm. Supervisor leaves voice message, which i unfortunately missed, my fault obviously. MESSAGE: States the recording indicated no timeline request on transfer. WRONG!! Information was given to the sales person very first sentence out of the box. No followup email. No call back. I called back and again waited nearly an hour to get through on the customer line to resolve. Finally gave up!!! Eventually just called ********. 7 min on hold. They set me up with a 36 month contract, waived the early termination fees, and thanked me for my business, and a better rate! Total deal was under 10 minutes. Had been with ******** for multiple contracts for nearly 5 years. Always great service and rates. Easy Peasy.
I am an 66 year old business man with 25+ years of using Power to Choose, and similar sites, to research best rates for the multiple business's that i have owned in Texas over the last 35 years. Have never had this type of service or issues, changing my utilities. Even allowing for the Changes since COVID and shipping and economic changes, am very disappointed.

I had a contract for one year and i never received any type of notice on upcoming renewal contract. My last light bill before the contract expired was 291 dollars and that is with just two people in the house. I got a bill for over 870 dollars this last time because i was no longer under contract. I understand a rate hike but this is price gouging and the state looks the other way on this stuff. Buy a piece if plywood that is tripled in price during hurricane season and all hell breaks loose. I called them and agreed i should probably pay a higher price but not triple cost. NO way I asked them to send me a new contract and they would credit money back within the next two billing cycles. They couldn't even guarantee the amount i would get. back, they just said it would happen. That was last week and still no emails, checked spam box and trash, no emails. Looks like i will take a hit on my credit report on this because no way i am going to pay close to 1000 dollars for this crap.BTW this is in Sugar Land TX

I signed up for 13.9 PKH on EFL 35242 which i have a printed confirmation of this rate prior to services and now at new login the rate shows 14.8 and the mailed documents received today says 14.2 and i have emailed the client 3 times and called twice and was informed someone would contact me in 3-5 days which is out of my out time once i received legal documents and no one has contact me on the issue. I even printed a copy of the online support communication which showed the 13.9 rate but the account is still wrong. I even received an email with that rate at my first communication about the rate and nothing has been updated. this s/b at the rate i signed up with and a fixed rate.
