      Incompetent customer service and accountants, unable to fix their mistakes, website does not work. And expensive! Do not use.

      Absolute trash. I’ve been on certain medications for YEARS. All of the sudden, the medication isn’t on their “preferred” aka profit list anymore so they make you jump through hoops to get it. Or they want you to try another brand… and “if it doesn’t work” they’ll switch you back. Recently, they paid for a diabetic medication for me with no questions asked. Now it’s no longer on their preferred list and won’t cover it without my doctor sending some very intrusive information to them. I will be dropping them as soon as I can and paying out of pocket with another provider. It’s not worth it.

      They have so many roadblocks set up so they don’t have to pay for anything. After 38 minutes on hold: “ you called the wrong number—you needed to call number 48 on the list” “You needed the pain medication now, not 5 days from Now?? Well, your doctor should have asked for the authorization to have been EXPEDITED or marked “URGENT!!!” Who the devil gets a prescription for oxytocin when it’s NOT urgent????? They just don’t want to pay! And, you can’t self pay on that drug, just lie there in pain. “I’ve not used my insurance in 3 years—as I never need a doc or drugs because I’m in great health—so clearly I’m not an illegal drug user. They should be closed!

      If you can choose your heath insurance company dont pick CareFirst because they are MoneyFirst and "maybe" get care later if any. Horrible company with dispicable work ethics. I pay $500 premium with no coverage and they say my policy is terminated. Use on your own risk!!

      I would give this company zero stars, but that wasn't an option. They have an incredibly confusing system and inconsistent. The reps I spoke with on the phone were good people, but it is very clear that CareFirst is a horribly mismanaged, incredibly incompetent company. Do not recommend.

      I hate this company with my entire being. A dr prescribed lung function tests for my husband ( who had a massive heart attack two years ago), but because the prescribing dr has left the practice and a nurse practitioner has to perform the tests Blue Cross is making us pay a portion out of pocket. Why??? Because it’s a SCAM. When my dr was born caesarean section, the hospital required that a pediatrician be in the room for the baby’s birth. Blue Cross didn’t deem it necessary and we were billed $6000 because BCBS is a **** show of a company. Nothing but a bunch of THIEVES.

      They are the worst service healthcare company. I use to work for them for more than 13 years and the service and level of understanding and expertise is terrible. I requested extention of coverage for my son who has medical condition beyond 26 due to an disorder signed by the dr for his illness. Now they claim they did not get it...???? They got the other one. I wish that there were more options. I pay the highest premiums and I get the worst service because of lack of knowledge. I do NOT ttecommend them I wonder if they have anyone in member services that knows anything???? They need to be audited and investigated for not providing the service level of care.

      Wouldn’t let me pay online, called said they had an error, didn’t send me a member number until after the payment was due, was assured they wouldn’t terminate my account because of these issues, called when I finally got my member number and was told my account was terminated. Worst customer service experience I’ve literally ever had. I wasted hours of my life on the phone with people that have no idea what is going on within the company or their own portals. Honestly ridiculous

      Been on the phone with Carefirst customer service all day trying to get my new member number, updated information and they literally ended the last call with "I don't know what to tell you, wait a few days to see if anything updates." When I asked the customer service rep at technical services if they could ask another team member if they know when the system would update they said "no one is here." When I asked them if they could call me back with the new information the next day they hung up on me. Wish I could give negative stars. They take your money and treat you like dirt.

      I tried calling them to cancel my policy and was told I had to call the ** ****************. After days trying to contact them I was told to do it online. I did that and was told to contact Blue Cross again about a refund since the MD health connection submits it and you pay for the whole month in advance. I called Blue Cross again and after an being on hold for 30 minutes talked to someone, told them the story and they agreed to refund me my $330 monthly charge. Then a month later I still hadn't received my refund in the mail so I called back again. Talked to another person after 30+ minutes waiting again, they saw the notes and also agreed to send me the refund, updated my address since I moved and said it should be a couple week. Fast forward 2 more months and I've received no refund check. I've now called again and was told I won't be getting a refund. Asked to talk a manager, now 60 minutes after first calling the manager Adahir reads me their standard policy that they can't give me a refund even though 2 of their prior employees said I would be receiving one because their policy is to charge for the whole month. Unreal service, I called over 4 times, have spent 3+ hours talking to them to be told twice I was getting a refund and now almost 4 months later that I will be getting nothing. This MANAGER Adahir read me their policy 6 times over a 5 minute call, complete robot, no service or care for their customers.
