      Truly wish you could give this hell hole of an insurance company negative stars. The worst insurance company on the planet for sure. Don’t waste your time or money. Working with my organization now to switch our insurance providers because this company is the worse

      DO NOT GET THIS SHADY INSURANCE!!!
      I got this low-end insurance company (and I mean really low-end) when I joined a new company. They call themselves a version of BlueCross - do not believe them. It's a junky operation, nothing is covered and you wait 45 minutes to get someone. Every time. You pay a high monthly rate for a PPO plan and get a combo "HMO/Medicaid/PPO" plan.
      It is so bad I am leaving my new job just to get real insurance. I don't trust a company that offers shady benefits.
      My medical and Rx's costs went through the roof, they don't cover meds that BlueCross covered and they forced me to downgrade my ulcer medication. One Rx co-pay increased one month from $15/mo to $350/mo - so much for my kid's **** treatment. My sciatic PT was delayed a month because my therapist could not get someone to answer the phone for pre-authorization and they got different answers from different people. In the end, I must pay $500 out of pocket for every PT treatment.
      The website is confusing, so it is hard to understand coverage until you get the bills.

      I have 6 claims now that have been processed as out of network even though they are all network providers. Three go back to September 2021 and my appeal has not been resolved after all this time. I truly do not understand how this is legal and how there is such a disconnect between the providers and this insurance company for this to continue happening.

      Customer service is terrible. Takes hours to get anyone on the phone. I've had to call CareFirst on behalf of providers on multiple occasions because the providers don't have time to sit on hold for hours on end just to clarify if a service needs a prior authorization or not. I've been trying to get my son's physical/occupational therapy claims paid for over a year and just keep getting the run around. I was even assigned a customer care manager and still can't get any kind of response from them. My son's provider won't see him any more until his delinquent claims get paid. They just don't seem to care about their customers at all.

      This company covers virtually NONE of my healthcare, even though I pay them every month. I called to see what I can do differently to get more coverage, waited 40 minutes for someone to answer, and then when she finally did, she just hung up the phone on me. This is hands down the worst insurance company I have ever worked with.

      Unbelievable!!! Carefirst issues a check in my wife's name 5 months after she passes away. I cannot cash the check as I had deleted her from our joint checking account.

      I call Carefirst customer service and after waiting for 45 minutes for someone to pick up the call, their rep tells me that their new policy does not allow them to reissue any checks made out to anyone else which basically means that they are going to keep my money as I have no way of cashing the check.

      The rep says that I can try "other' means to secure a refund; such as hire an attorney, etc. Oh right....I'm going to go through all of that to get my $39 refund.....it is simply corporate petty theft IMO.

      I have been trying to just get insurance cards for my kids and I since July 1. I have a managers direct dial - Lisa ******* who never calls me back. The one time she did she swore she would federal express my cards. I still don't have them! I have to print out cards every time my kids and I go see a specialist. HOW HARD IS IT TO SEND INSURANCE CARDS IN THE MAIL. Their customer service is the worst.

      website uses a ******** script to track and monitor users mouse clicks as well as keystrokes...its basically a keylogger script used in the website. they also do not tell users about this...look for your self

      A class-action suit should be filed for unlawfully intercepting communications by using 3rd parties and or software scripts and or coding to capture the interaction of people visiting the website carefirst.com without permission or consent!
