In February 2024, I purchased an engine from Quality Auto Salvage LLC, which came with a 6-month warranty. Upon receiving the engine, I discovered that it did not function properly. I immediately notified Quality Auto Salvage LLC about the issue, well within the warranty period. Despite my prompt notification, the company provided me with inadequate and evasive responses, often telling me they needed to speak to someone else regarding the matter. I requested a refund, but they never processed it. Instead, they picked up the faulty engine and kept my money. They continued to claim that the warranty had expired, which is entirely false, as I had notified them well within the warranty timeframe and had discussed the refund prior to the warranty ending. To this date, I have not received my refund, and the company has been unresponsive and uncooperative. Frustrated by their lack of accountability, I have started to consult legal professionals to ensure I receive my rightful refund. I hope the Better Business Bureau (BBB) thoroughly investigates Quality Auto Salvage LLC, as they are selling faulty products to consumers and profiting from these practices. This situation is not only unfair but also unethical, and it needs to be addressed to protect other consumers from similar experiences.

My son's car needed brake parts. It is a 2000 ****** Camry, The car had been sitting at the mechanic's shop since September, the initial part we bought was the wrong one for the car. So, I decided to look online for the Master cylinder with ABS. I located this business( Quality Auto Salvage), online and I called their business number. The customer service person, *****, tried assuring me that they had the part, but I decided to have our mechanic to call the business to verify that that was the part we wanted. After he assured me that it was the right part, I paid online for the part which cost $250 on 10/26/24. The business said the part would arrive in one week. By 11/1/24, I received email from the business that ***** had delivered the part to me. I checked the tracking number and realized it was delivered to *********, I live in ********. I called them and they said they would follow up. I called them when I did not hear from them and they said they would replace the part. I have waited since that conversation which happened November 5th. They again assured me they would deliver 11/18. I have waited since then to now and have not received the part. Meanwhile, I continued to pay insurance on the car. By 11/20 when the part did not arrive, I requested for a refund, more than once. I expressly made it clear I want my money back They have being giving me the run around. The car was not driveable due to the brake problem. On 12/2, I sold it for salvage to salvage company. I definitely do not have a need for that part anymore and just want my refund. I am asking for your service in helping me recover my hard earned money. To date, 12/13/24, date of filing this complaint, you can see clearly that I would not be filing if I had being refunded my money.

Thank you BBB for taking the time to hear this case and for subsequently contacting the business. Due to lack of response on their part, I filed a case with the small claims court in the County and I have since heard from them and have received the full amount owed. Once again, thank you for your diligence in this matter.

Call to send part back and get a refund. ****** was the handling it. He was very nasty, rude and a liar. He told us it we will get $500 back because it was 35% restocking fee plus shipping. We told him we have our receipt and it doesn't say that. After 3 weeks of constant calling I spoke to a manager name ******* ****** and we agreed of a refund of $******** and it will take 4 business days and that was on 10/1/2024. On 10/9/2024 I called back talk to supposedly the manager ******* ****** he said it was an error with the bank and that they process the refund on Tuesday and Friday only. He stated to give it to next Thursday which would make it 10/17/2024. I call back and no manager would speak with me ****** refused to let me talk to a manager and after being persistent he transferred me to the sales department and lied about a manager being there and making me call back 2 hours. It is now 10/21/2024 I called to speak to a manager and they answered but didn't say anything. They thought i was hanging up but I didn't so the put me on hold for 15 minutes. Lady answered the phone saying no manager is here call back in 2 hours. Business Response

    Hello Mr. ***** ****,

This is in regards to 2010  Ford Truck-F150 Transmission Vin - *****************

As per our records, the order was placed on the 16th February, 2024 and the part was delivered by *************** : ******** on the 19th March, 2024. However, you called and informed us that the part delivered was not the correct one as ordered. As a formal procedure, we have sent the return label via email to have the part picked up on the 4th April, 2024, you did not return the part when the carrier : Daylight Transport - Tracking Number : ********, visited the location. The old part is still with the customer. When requested for the receipt as proof that the part was returned, the customer said that he does not have it.

As per our phone conversation on the 30th September, 2024, we have clearly communicated that the part was not returned to us, yet you informed us that it has already been sent. If this is the case, kindly provide the receipt issued by the carrier at the time of the old part that was picked up. We also extended an offer where you can avail a 50% discount if you decide to place a new order. We also want to formally notify you that the date of the expiration of warranty shows as 21st September, 2024. As such, this renders it void, and we are unable to proceed with any formal actions until the warranty is renewed or extended.

We initiated a parts purchase on May 23, 2024, we were told by salesman Brandon, the part was available, was told if money was wired transferred, we would have the part within 24 hrs. Transferred money almost immediately. After several phone calls, messages & conversations, it became obvious to us that we were *******. On June 25 th we asked for our money back. To date, August 2, no refund. Have spoken to several representatives, they keep saying that the transaction has to investigated. They obviously can not provide the part, that I no longer need. Representative, Conrad, requested refund to the billing team June 25th, supposedly. Again, to date, we have not received our refund. Refund amount is, $350.00 for the part & we had to pay $25.00 for the wire transfer, we believe they should reimburse us for the wire transfer charge, as we could have avoided that charge if we weren’t told that we would have the part within 24 hours. Simply put, we paid for a part, we did not get the part & we want our money back.

    Hello Mr. ******,

We have mailed the full refund what you paid us during the time of sale, attached is the check of $350.00. We do not cover any additional fees.

    Many thanks,

    ******

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/08/2024

Thank you. Finally seeing that we should be receiving a refund of $350 for the part that they were unable to provide is great.

But the $25 wire transfer fee occurred because we were told that they had the part “in hand” and ready to ship the next day if we wired the payment to expedite shipment of the part.

This was a flat out LIE. They didn’t have the part available at that time and still they still were unable to provide the part weeks later.

so we believe that because of this ********** claim of having the part, we never would have wired the money and send a check instead and should be refunded the  wire charge of $25 also.

    Better Business Bureau:

Just a note of appreciation for your handling of our issue with Quality Auto Salvage.  We have received a check for $350.00 written off an account under the name of ****** ***** *******.  We have deposited said check.  As you are aware we still feel they should be held accountable for the actions of their employed.  We were lied to right from the start, causing us to incur an additional $25.00 expense.  Their employee, Brandon, said he literally had the part in this company’s possession.  After receiving payment the part would be in my possession in 24 hours.  Instead we wait 6 or more weeks for a refund. We needed & wanted the part as quickly as possible, hence the wire transfer.  Then the back & forth, empty promises about the part going in the mail, promising tracking information, again for something they didn’t even have in their possession with obviously no intention of placing in the mail.  All the lies, Endless explanations for delays, off for the day, vacations, just plain no reply to messages.  ****** ***** *******, who I am sure is some sort of officer for this lame duck salvage company, should suck it up and write another check for $25.00.

    Again, thank you.

When I received the first radio I notified the company the same day it was defective, requested a refund. They told me they would send another. Received second radio and again notified them the same day of the defect. Why are they saying warranty voided when both times they were notified of the defects. Warranty never stated as the company was notified within 24 hours and my request for a refund upon receipt of product.

Request for refund was requested numerous times from the first receipt of product.

Again I am requesting my refund

I got an engine from this company on 01/13/2024 not even two months in and at the beginning of march I am already starting the procces to get a replacement (which had warranty) the engine broke down looks like from the beginning it was a no-good engine as one of the pistons fell off and broke multiple components. Talked to the company and stated they would send a replacement 4 months go by, and I did not receive anything they went off and on with lies, they gave me a fake tracking number and I was able to figure it out because when I had the quality auto salvage (Connrad) on the line I called the shipping company and stated that wasn't even a valid tracking number. I talked with Connrad and he stated they could give me a refund instead as they were having trouble finding this engine. I have called many times and they ignore my calls, every time I ask for their EIN number they get nervous and change the subject, so in reality from looking at the quality auto salvage website you're not able to see any bad reviews or reviews at all which I think it's unfair because so many other customers are getting scammed by this company. It wasn't until I looked them up on BBB that I was able to notice how big of a scam they are. In all words it's not just about my refund , but I would really like for someone to look into this company and shut it down so that no more customers get scammed. Here we are 7/22/24 I have not gotten a replacement neither a refund.

    Hi Mr. *********,
Below email was sent to your mechanic on 07/26/2024, I have attached the copy of the email and the agreement signed by you.
    Hello *****,

This is in regards to 2010 ***** traverse ENGINE ASSEMBLY 3.6 L

As per our recent phone conversation, you have reiterated about being refunded, as we were unable to get a better quality replacement. As per our company's policy, only after the old part is returned, a refund is processed.  The responsibility to return the old part lies with you. Kindly provide the Return Tracking Details when the old part is shipped.

However, we will begin with the refund of $1000 and the remainder will be processed after the old part is returned to **, wherein the shipping department will check the condition of the part when returned. First half of the Refund of $1000 will be sent to the same card with which the order was placed.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and kind co-operation in the matter.
