First tried to make reservation on their app. After giving my cc info, a popup said the order did not go through. So I made the reservation online. When I noticed there were two charges, I called NextCar and was reassured the extra payment would be refunded. 2 weeks later. I pick up the rental and mention that the refund was not received. 2 weeks later I return the rental and mentioned the refund had not been received. I called again after returning home and was told the credit had been issued but the refund did not go through. The person I spoke with sent an email to the accounting office and cc'd to me, to make the refund. Nearly a month later I have sent several emails asking for an update on the refund without receiving a reply from them. I want my refund in full!Initial Complaint

Next Car Rental of Tallahassee is a partner of *********. This rental car company is ghetto, shady, and unprofessional. I made a reservation for the November 2nd, and I made my first complaint on November 4th. I complained to ********* that the car was dirty, the tire pressure was extremely off (which caused me to waste money on unnecessary gas), the car shakes and vibrates terribly when I come to a quick stop, and I've had to pull outside the white lines in order to not hit someone in front of me. The window rattles louder than the music when you turn the music up, the trunk wouldn't open twice, so I called the rental car company to get the insurance information so I can have them take a look at the trunk, and they declined my request. I am now here stuck at a truck stop with no solution, no more funds left for a hotel or food, and no explanation or compensation regarding this nightmare of an experience. I have called price line and the rental car company to report these issues at least 20 times since November 4th, and as a Veteran I've been treated with nothing but disrespect, rudeness, and unprofessionalism. I've also had to check myself into the hospital twice due mental break downs caused by this horrible experience. I've cried, I've tried, and I've b en patient and no one has given me a refund or explanation on this issue. I rented the car from Florida and now I'm stranded here at a truck stop in Colorado. I guess they towed the car, but it has all of my possessions in it, and as a Veteran who has severed this country, I feel disrespected, ignored, bullied, and scammed.Customer Answer

I'm still here stranded at a truck stop in Colorado for the 6th day, without medication, my office equipment, my personal belongings, food, or an explanation on why they are able to continue to overdraft my account, when the services were not rendered.

My husband *********************** and I rented a vehicle for our trip to our family home in Boyton Beach FL. The initial booking was done through ******* for a cost listed as $300 for Oct 30-Nov 9/23. We declined the insurance on ******* website as we have rental car insurance through both our personal insurance and work benefits. When we arrived to ********* Car Rental in Fort Lauderdale to pick up the car rental agreement #***** the rental price ballooned to and additional $450. The agent stated that it was state law that we could not decline their insurance as the state only accepts US insurance providers. I tried to explain this is false as my brother was able to decline the rental insurance last winter when he rented a vehicle from another agency in Florida. The clerk was insistent that we had to take the insurance which was $300. Then the clerk added another $150 for an epass. I explained we have a family home in FL and have a Sunpass transponder, so don't need their epass. The clerk said this again was a mandatory charge, although their website states differently. We spoke to two different clerks about these fraudulent charges and both insisted they were mandatory. Additionally, in regards to the actual car, the clerk advised the gas tank was just slightly below full and to return it to the same. The tank was actually just one tick above 3/4 full. I mention this as they have a surcharge listed on their paperwork that if a client does not bring the car back at the level they reported they will automatically charge your credit card. The vehicle was in very poor condition, dirty windows and interior, dents and damage all around it and after driving it on the highway it was very clear there is some mechanical issue going on. Without benefit of an inspection we can only guess at a wheel bearing issue. This company is clearly operating using fraudulent, misleading and predatory practices. We have also filed a complaint with ******* who should not be promoting this business.Initial Complaint

I rented a car from Priceless Car Rental via *********.com. The confirmation# was *************. The car was scheduled to be picked up on Aug 11 and returned on Aug 21. When I picked up my car at the *** (*********** airport) pickup location on Aug 11, I was charged an additional $59.32 because I I didn’t pick up the car on the exact time. When I booked the car, I didn’t see any policy indicating this kind of charge for picking up late. I asked the service personnel over the counter to show me the policy, but she couldn’t find it. She insisted that we need to pay the fee, otherwise we wouldn’t get the car. With our tight travel schedule and a lot of customers in line behind us, this left us no choice but to pay the fee. However, I don’t think this fee is reasonable. According to the policy, we would need to pay the rental fee even if we didn’t show up. Theoretically we have already paid for owning the car for a period of time (11 days in my case), so it shouldn't matter if we pick up the car or not, let alone on time? It’s normal for flights to get delayed or canceled, thus making the customers pickup their car late. It’s not fair for a company to expect all customers to be exactly on-time and I hope I can get my $59.32 back. I filed a complain on their website on Sep 27. Although on their website, they said I would get response within 24 hours, I don't get any feedback from them as of Oct 2. I request the company take my case seriously, not just paying me back, but also avoiding the same overcharge happening in future to other costumers. Also they should establish their SOP to process the customer feedback promptly. Thank you very much.Customer Answer

In June 2023, I booked a car through ******* that rented the car from Pricele$$, Tampa. Upon picking up the car, there was a dent in the driver side bumper, alongside a scratch. Once I returned the car, Pricele$$ had charged my card for $1,057 stating that I was responsible for the damage, in which I was not. I contacted them via email and phone, as well as ******* requesting a refund as I was not the one to cause the damage. Upon further research, I found multiple reviews that they have scammed people continuously. Booking through *******, I was under the impression I would be booked with a legitimate company, however that was not the case. Pricele$$ responded that I did cause the damage and that we could "let the lawyers handle it" and promptly hung up when I mentioned the act of them scamming their clients. In the uploaded documents, I have included various other reviews of Pricele$$ stating similar issues. Pricele$$ emailed me a video that they took before handing over the car, in which you can see the dent they are claiming I wad the cause of. When I mentioned you could see it in their own video, they told me the scratch was already there, but not the dent. And I just so conveniently dented it in the same spot as the scratch. In the video, you can see the reflection of the dent that was previously there before passing the car over to me. This has been entirely a hassle, from start to finish. They were rude, arrogant, and entitled and I hope they stop doing this to customers - as I will never rent from them again. I have their video in my possession for evidence as well, but I am unable to upload it due to either size or formatting. Will gladly email it in if that is an option. Screenshot ending in ****** shows the dent within their video.Customer Answer

I had definitely filed this request under wanting a settlement. After hearing no response, I had planned to file a small claims court in Florida in attempt to receive my funds. I would rather re-open through the BBB if possible. Please let me know, thank you.Customer Answer

I would like for the $1,057 to be refunded back into my account, as that was the value of the damage they stated I caused. As in my original complaint, I did not cause any damages to the vehicle and submitted the photo proof. With that, I am requesting the charge be reversed to reimburse me for the $1,057.Initial Complaint

I rented a car from NextCar through ********* from July 9-14, 2023 in Augadilla, Puerto Rico. I provided a $500 security deposit using my debit card. The money was supposed to be returned within 14 days after returning the vehicle. It is now September 19, 2023, and I still have not received the deposit refund even though the vehicle was returned with no damage and a full tank of gas.Initial Complaint

On July 21st, 2023 I rented a vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, FL from this company. On july 22nd I was rear ended by another vehicle while on vacation in FL. I notified state police, my insurance company and the rental company immediately. The rental company was unreachable until the afternoon of July 23rd. I returned the rental vehicle for inspection and estimate of repairs that was to be processed through the at fault driver's insurance policy. A replacement vehicle was provided to me for the duration of my stay and I returned to the rental company's office on August 1st to turn it in and fly out. Upon returning the vehicle I was detained at their office for payment on repairs to the damaged vehicle. There was no inspection, estimate or receipts shown to me or my insurance company. The employee at the desk was texting another employee for the amount I was to be charged. I tried to leave several times to catch my flight with my children and felt threatened to stay in that office until they figured out what amount they were going to charge me. Finally the front desk employee said that their corporate office asked me to reimburse $1000 dollars for the damage. I asked several times for their official paperwork saying that they could charge a customer any arbitrary amount without documentation. They wouldn't provide such paperwork and told me that none was available. I finally paid the $1030 dollars, contacted my insurance company again and was finally able to leave for the airport. To this day, Priceless Rental Car has not provided my insurance company or myself with any receipts for repairs or estimates performed on the damaged vehicle.Customer Answer

On 8/6 I had a car rental reservation through ******* , during the reservation process you are given an option to get insurance for the vehicle, as a consumer , you trust and chose what will have you protected so I added it to the rental . The total for the rental was 178 and some cents with $48.33 due at pick up if the vehicle . First the shuttle that picked us up took forever , it was a family van with a driver that didn’t speak English, it felt super unsafe , no association to the company , upon arrival the attendant advices they are not honoring the insurance bought through ******* and we are forced to buy their own insurance (other consumers experience the same on the same day ) we are stranded with no other option falling victim of misrepresentation, abuse and false information. Additionally there is a 200 deposit you have to pay, so I end up paying additional 287.30 , we return the vehicle 8/10 and I am told it will take 2-7 days for the refund of the deposit to be in my account , over a week goes by with nothing, I called back and *******, I believe his name is , advices the issue was because my reservation was under my boyfriend but the card was under my name , (there was no issue charging it ) now a month after I have not received a refund and today a girl named ******** tells me that my contract for rental was actually higher and that there was no refund because the money is held and release , I have a transaction posted but no refund, this company is unethical , financially abusing people and misrepresenting . I need help Getting my money back . Note there was no documentation provided upon signing , no car registration, expired plates . No emails confirming anythingInitial Complaint

I rented a car from Payless Rental in Tampa FL on 5/8/23. Just like the other complaints my online quote was much lower because I did have a brand of insurance they require. You won't find this out until you arrive for your car as it is kinda hidden in the website. I do have 100/300/100 of my insurance which is more than most people but they require a higher amount as well. They told me the gas was full and put 8/8 on the contract. I pointed out to them the car barely had more than half a tank. They wouldn't change the paperwork, not even with a pen. Other people's left over 10 water bottles were in the truck. There was sand all over in the car and sticky stuff too. When I turned the car in, they wouldn't give me a receipt and said it would be emailed to me within 48 hours. It has still not arrived. They have a courtesy shuttle to the airport but claimed it was down so I was stuck there until I got an ****. AVOID THIS COMPANY! And BB why do they still show an A+ when there are so many unanswered complaints here? I want my receipt!!Business Response

I rented a car 8/16 - 8/22 through ******. The price was listed as non-refundable. I have the state required auto insurance for liability through ****. When I arrived to pick up my car I was told this location requires the purchase of an additional $500,000 liability policy. I could not cancel or get a refund on my reservation, and the listing online never showed a requirement for insurance other than what is minimally required by law and (some restrictions apply by location). It never stated the amount of insurance needed. I felt trapped and needed a car so I reluctantly had to pay. Every customer that came in was met with the same demand and caught off guard. In total it cost me $175. I feel their prices are deceptive and trap customers once they arrive. I would like a refund of that amount, because had I known they force customers to buy their insurance I would have used another provider.
