One area of the gutter installation continues to leak. **************** does not return calls. I have had to contact the sales *** to get customer service. The mailbox for the ***resentative is full so I am unable to connect with him, unless he returns my email. A full mailbox is never a good sign for successful customer service communication. The service people came out once but the problem of having the gutter become stopped up continues to occur. I am again trying to reach to someone for servicing but have not been successful. Please note that Gutter Helmet/Lendor Home Solutions sent out a letter on September 30, 2024 acknowledging their lack of customer inquiry responsiveness and their problem within the customer care ************* warranty will be up this June. Lack of guaranteed customer care will cost me unnecessary expense. I would like to have someone come to my home and reassess the recurring problem and remedy it. I also think the warranty period should be extended an additional year, because of their unresponsiveness, so I can be sure that the problem has been resolved. I look forward to your response. Thank you, ******* *******

installed Gutter Helmet in the back of my house underneath solar panels was recommended was appropriate the water jumps over the Gutter Helmet and pours down onto theground. Also, I'm getting a leak on the other side of my house because the water has nowhere to go. They told me my solar panels are too low the representative that came out and sold me them never said anything about solar panels and having a problem, they will not fix or return my money. I want a refund. also, I keep calling for them to send somebody out with a solution and nobody returns my calls. I had an appointment and nobody showed up.I'm a senior and a senior community and I'm disabled and I think that people are just taking advantage of the seniors these days and I'm very because the water is now leaking into my screened in porch

      Customer Answer

this is a triple lifetime warranty see picture above. They're not returning my calls to find a solution for a Gutter Helmet that they put in the back of my house below my solar panels, which is not grabbing the water. It's bouncing off the Gutter Helmet. I had someone here twice before I asked for a third person because there's no solution to this. I asked them to find a solution because it's causing a leak into my screened in porch. It's overflowing into the porch, but they're not returning my call. it's supposed to be a lifetime warranty

I hired Gutter Helmet by Harry Helmet to install their gutter protection system, which includes a lifetime warranty. After noticing water damage in my home, I contacted my roofing company, as my roof is under a 50-year warranty. Their inspection revealed that the installers had broken the seals on my shingles along the backside of the house, which allowed water to enter beneath the roof.***** ******, the Quality Control Manager at Gutter Helmet, visited my residence in person to assess the damage.I provided photo evidence, multiple emails, and a detailed repair estimate from the roofing company directly to ***** ******. Despite repeated follow-ups over several months, I have received no resolution, no repair timeline, and no accountability. This company has failed to take responsibility for the damage caused by their installation and has not honored their warranty. This complaint concerns the Gutter Helmet installation performed by the ************, MD location (***************************). We had Gutter Helmets installed on our gutters in April of 2024. We paid over $5000 for this to Lednor. During the winter we experienced significant problems with ice dams, ice hazards from extremely large icicles freezing & thawing at entryways. We NEVER had this problem before the Gutter Helmets were installed. I contacted the company who recommended another product of theirs - Helmet Heat. When it was priced at over another $2000 I suggested that the company should share in the cost of installing this product since their original product caused the problem. I spoke a few times with **** **** who identified himself as a regional manager. He suggested I find out information about about electrical capacity for the installation. I did this & sent him the information. He has stopped responding to any calls or emails. He initially apologized for not responding saying he wasn’t getting message. This is no longer true or possible.

This is not an issue with the Gutter Helmet. this is an atmospheric issue outside the products control. attached is a copy of the Manufacture's warranty that states the formation of icicles is not a warranted defect. As for when the Helmet heat was invented we are not the manufacture and don't have that information

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Lednor’s explanation that the dangerous conditions created by their flawed product are actually caused by atmospheric conditions is unacceptable.  For 30 plus years we have had similar atmospheric conditions during winters but NEVER had the ICE DAMS, FAILURE OF THE STORM DRAIN SYSYEM & DANGEROUS ICE BUILD UP AT ENTRY WAYS prior to the installation of GUTTER HELMETS.

Mr **** continues to insist that the problem is simply “icicles” but it is not.

Additionally, I asked when Lednor began offering HELMET HEAT not when it was
invented.  I asked this because  I am wondering if the company started  offering HELMET HEAT after homes like mine experienced these problems.   Responding with the flippant response that they didn’t invent it vs. answering my question shows their lack of serious consideration of my concerns as a paying customer.

I have asked Mr **** as the representative speaking for Lednor to please pass this conflict onto his supervisor or whomever is higher up the food chain there.  I ask this because Mr **** has made it clear from the start that he will not consider my concerns.

This is a large company taking advantage of and disregarding legitimate problems with their product by a customer who doesn’t have the money to sue them.   Corporate greed is a terrible thing - shame on you.

      Sincerely,

      **** *********

Back in January 2025, I called Harry Helmet because my heated gutter system was not working. My gutters were jammed with ice. They sent out an inspector to check out the issue. He came out two times and confirmed that they were not working. He said I had to get an electrician out to confirm that the electrical was working properly. So I hired an electrician at my expense and paid $220 to confirm that the electric was indeed working which it was. Since February, I have been unable to get a response out of Harry Helmet customer service. I have called every week and now it is April and no one will return my call. Only a tape recorder answers the phone to leave a message. I have asked for a manger to call me back. I have seen the reviews on line how awful their customer service is. Now I am in a jam to get my heated gutters working. What I am looking for is someone to come out and fix my heated gutter system.

Because we were guaranteed that we would never have to clean our gutters again because Gutter Helmet would come out up to four times a year to clean these gutters, we signed a contract with them on 7/14/17 and paid a total of $6,323.44 to them. They did clean the gutters, as promised, for a few years and then decided to start charging a fee of $50. Now I was told that they would start charging a "dispatch" fee of either $150 or $200 to send someone out to inspect our gutters and, if it is covered by warranty, there will not be an additional charge to fix it. Our gutters are so clogged right now that they are overflowing each time it rains.

I did try numerous times to upload our contract with Gutter Helmet (a PDF file) below but kept getting an error.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/24/2025

the contract with this customer does not state we will clean their system free for life. attached is a copy of the contract that states as a term of installation of the new gutter helmet that we will clean out the gutters before we install the new gutter helmet system. the contract further states that the warranty is a manufactures warranty. we as a dealer charge a warranty assessment fee to determine if the customers issue is a warranty related service or not. once we assess the issue if the issue is warranty related any and all warranty related work will be preformed at no cost to the customer. Any noon warranty related work that the customer requests we will give the customer a quote for the non-warranty related work. Attached is a copy of the manufactures warranty.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/24/2025

We were told by the Gutter Helmet salesman, who came out and measured our house and shop/garage for gutters and who was trying to convince us to spend all that money on his gutters, that we would never have to clean our gutters again with this system and that we would get free cleanings each year.  When I called to schedule our first cleaning, the gal who answered the phone said we were entitled to four free cleanings a year.  I told her I thought three times a year would be ample so she scheduled cleanings for another year.  When the date for our next cleaning was approaching, we would get a call from Gutter Helmet telling us when they were coming out to clean and that is how it worked for years.

As I said in my original complaint, if they are not going to provide the free cleanings as promised by a couple of Gutter Helmet employees (the salesperson and the gal in the office) then we would prefer that the gutter protection be removed and we be issued a full refund of the amount we paid.  We would not have purchased this gutter protection initially without the promise of free cleanings.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/27/2025

No where in the contract that has been uploaded does it state that we will clean the customers gutters 4 times a year. The Warranty that the customer is referring to is the manufactures warranty. The contract clearly calls out the manufactures warranty. A copy of the manufactures warranty has been uploaded as well. To be clear we are not the manufacture. We are the manufactures dealer in this area and we charge a warranty assessment fee to send out a crew to determine if the customers issue is warranty related or not. if the issue is warranty related we will service the customers system with out any other charges. if the customers issue is not warranty related we will notify the customer of any and all additional charges that apply.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because we were told by two different employees at Gutter Helmet that we were entitled free gutter cleanings per year.  They provided that service for years.  That is the only reason we bought the gutter system from them.  You are saying we need to pay in advance the $150 or $200 (this amount changes every time we speak) to have your person come out and determine why our gutters are totally clogged, filthy dirty and leaking?  The Gutter Helmet system has never performed the way it is advertised even with multiple cleanings per year.  Reading online reviews it appears that there are many unhappy customers who bought the same system.

You are pointing fingers and blaming Gutter Helmet for the problems we are having.  I tried contacting them in the Seattle office before I filed this complaint and my call went to Maryland.  I tried emailing them about a cleaning and had to deal with an employee in Maryland.  I cannot get in touch with Mark Rodgers either by phone or email so I assume he is no longer the manager at the Seattle branch.  Please tell me how to contact Gutter Helmet.

Again, all we want is to have our gutters cleaned at no cost annually or remove the gutter protection and issue us a full refund, which would be our preference.

      Sincerely,

We had Gutter Helmet installed on our gutters several years ago. The warranty stated that if the gutters clog Gutter Helmet will fix the issue at no charge. Gutter Helmet has cleaned our gutters twice because of clogs. Recently we had another clog and the local Gutter Helmet representative refused to clean our gutters unless we paid $150 up front. This is contrary to the written warranty that states there is no charge for cleaning clogs. I have contacted Gutter Helmet several times regarding the $150 charge and have received no response.

The Gutter helmet warranty is a manufactures warranty. Attached is a copy of the warranty. Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The Gutter Helmet warranty is quite clear that the installed gutters are guaranteed to flow properly.  If the gutter clogs (which ours have) they will be cleaned without cost to us.  This has happened twice in the past and both times the gutters were cleaned for free.

I don't understand why they can now charge a fee for a free service that was included in my original purchase.  I believe Gutter Helmet is obligated to send someone to correct the problem and do so at no charge to me.

Here is the abbreviated language from Gutter Helmet's website:  "The Best Warranty In The Gutter Guard System Industry.
No one matches our LIFETIME PERFORMANCE WARRANTY. Gutter Helmet will never chip, crack, or fade. Your gutters are guaranteed to allow the free flow of water without clogging, through every season. Our gutter leaf guard system will NOT void your roof warranty, and our warranty easily transfers to the next homeowner.
Others guarantee your gutters won’t have problems. But with other products, issues arise with the filters. Only Gutter Helmet carries a performance-based warranty because our product is time-tested to last a lifetime. So, your home is protected and so are you."

I expect this matter to be resolved by gutter maintenance without charge.

      Sincerely,

      **** ******

      Business Response

The rejection of the response does not negate the fact that this is a manufactures warranty. We are not the manufacture and have the right to charge an assessment fee to determine if in fact the issue is a warranty related claim.

We sent out emails December of2024 notifying customers of the warranty assessment fee to all customers in the Seattle, Wa and Portland Or markets. The customer was also notified when he call our office to set up service. We will waive the fee one time for this customer and open a service.

I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate that the business has agreed to provide the services provided for in my contract.  However, I never received any notification that the business intended to unilaterally amended my contract.  As an attorney, I can assure you that a party to a contract cannot change the terms of a contract without the consent of the other party unless that right is specifically provided for in the original contract.  The contract I signed specifically provides that I would receive services to unclog gutters at no cost to me.  It also provides that I can transfer this obligation to the purchaser should we sell our home.  I expect the business to honor this contractual obligation.

In addition, Gutter Helmet's website clearly states that any purchaser of Gutter Helmet gutter systems is entitled to this free benefit.

      Sincerely,

I purchased the Gutter Helmet product through a ****** discount and had detailed discussions before installation regarding my concern about potential clogs, as I live in a wooded area. I was assured that the product came with a lifetime guarantee, including free gutter cleaning as often as necessary.

A few months after installation, the company proactively conducted a system check and cleaned the clogged gutters at no charge. However, later that year, when I contacted them due to recurring clogs, I was informed there would be a $150 fee just to schedule a technician, plus additional charges for the cleaning itself. They also required me to provide photos of the clog.

I referenced my contract, which explicitly stated that cleanings would be free for the product's lifetime. The company responded that their policy had changed as of December 1st. I requested to speak with a manager and was promised a callback within 72 hours. Despite following up eight times since then, I have yet to receive any response from a manager.

The customer warranty is a manufacture's warranty. The warranty states the system will keep the gutters free flowing. The Manufacture's warranty does not include free cleanings of the system. We as a dealer of the gutter helmet system charge a warranty assessment fee it review the customers issue. if the issue is warranty related the warranty service is completed with no additional charge.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The warranty assessment fee was implemented after my
purchase and is not mentioned in my contract. As such, I should not be subject
to this fee. My gutters are clogged, which qualifies as a valid warranty claim.
I have submitted supporting photographs and kindly request that the warranty
work be completed as outlined in the agreement.
Furthermore, had I been informed that I would be required to
pay a fee to validate my warranty each time the product failed, I would never
      have proceeded with the purchase.

      Sincerely,

      ******** *****r
