I was expecting a $100 refund from Exoticca. ******** claimed that they sent the refund in January 2025 to the original payment method, xxx0298. However when I called TD **** (Apr 30, 2025), they could not find any refund transaction attached to the account xxx0298. The refund was not forwarded to the current account xxxx4279. The refund order reference number (**********ni) provided by ******** below doesn't serve any purpose for TD **** to confirm any transaction made with them.The resolution that was proposed by the TD **** Customer Service Supervisor (Junior) was to dispute $100 from the transaction of the full payment on Sept 11, 2024. TD **** gave me the reference number for this dispute, C2751629.I am caught between the merchant and TD **** that doesn't want to communicate with each other. I am left without any recourse. The resolution proposed by the TD **** CS supervisor doesn't seem feasible as it required to fax documents to them to support the claim. TD **** should investigate with Exoticca what happened to the refund transaction. I want to know where the point of failure is and get the refund that was owed.Initial Complaint

I applied for a ***** Loan. I am a 15 year customar of the bank. I have over $3M in stock and securities. My credit score is 755 according to Experian but 729 according to TD Bank. In my initial phone call with the ***** loan officer I was informed that my numbers looked fine and that the loan would close within 4 weeks maybe sooner. The bank requested tons of documentation. Tax returns, bank statements, investment statements. I received a conditional letter of approval. 3 days before closing the loan I received a letter from the bank with another conditional approval. One day before the closing I receive a phone call that my loan request was denied. Denied because my income to debt ratio was too low. They had a solution though. Pay off my 12 month **************** zero interest credit card **** by rolling it into the ***** that was 7 1/2%! They tried to con me into giving up a zero interest loan just sso they could then collect interest on the rolled in amount. Outrageous! I am seeking an apology, compensation for 6 or 7 hours of time spent researching ( $250/hr) and providing supporting documentation and materials, and approval for the line of credit I requested. I wonder how many other borrowers they have conned this way? Maybe a class action suit is in order.Business Response

I have a HELOC through the bank. I also live in flood zone, and I am required to purchase flood insurance. I purchase this annually. I received a letter from TD Bank asking for proof of coverage. I submitted this THREE times per the instructions sent to me. On the third time, I called the representative who instructed me to send to another email address and request the matter to be escalated. Today I receive a letter informing me that because I never submitted proof of insurance, TD Bank purchased flood insurance on my behalf for $6,695.76 (7 times more than the **** plan I already have)!!!!Business Response

I am the founder of a 501c3 non-profit horse rescue in *******. We bank at TD bank. On the 25th of April my Florida Division decided to close the rescue there. I immediately emailed Jasmine (our banker at the location)explaining that I am closing the account. Today in the 29th of April I was able to speak with her. She says that even though meeting minutes with MY signature say either myself, ******* ******* or ****** ******* can open OR close the account WITHOUT permission of the other 2 that I cannot because I am not a signer on the account. I am also involving the **** in this as well because the funds in that account belong to the 501c3 non-profit charity I run.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********.
The 2 signers on the account are no longer representatives of the 501c3 non-profit in which the account is in the name of. The bank branch has the written letter showing that myself and the 2 now former volunteers are permitted to open,close or do transactions on this account. The branch should not have accepted the letter and the information if it was not correct and or the actions not permitted by your bank rules. I will now proceed with criminal and civil charges against the banker, Jasmine ******* for allowing people NOT associated with the rescue(she has the resignation email that was sent to me)to access and withdraw or use funds. TD bank and its employees have committed theft against an IRS 501c3 non-profit.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********.
As I previously stated in my last rejection, the bank should NOT have accepted my handwritten letter stating either MYSELF or the now former volunteers could open close or conduct business on the account without the knowledge or consent of the others if the bank was NOT going to oblige the letter and the statements within it. I am retaining counsel and we are proceeding with criminal and civil charges against the banker as well as TD Bank for allowing theft from a public charity to occur. I have also informed the *** on the matter and TD bank should be hearing from them soon.

Deceptive Practices, Poor Customer Service, and ************* ************************************************* closed my business account and has withheld funds without legal justification. Despite my full cooperation and documentation from check issuers confirming the legitimacy of all transactions, the bank reversed cleared funds, misrepresented facts to regulators, and failed to return communications from multiple representatives.Their ********************************** mischaracterized cleared deposits as fictitious despite direct communications from other TD Bank clients validating those payments.I am requesting an immediate review and a formal explanation of these practices. TD cause through their actions overdraft fees of $275 and Return checks fees that they decided to return of $120 They have not shown any proof of fraud nor insufficient fund on the part of the maker of the checks. I am writing to formally reject TD Banks response to my complaint.
Their letter, dated May 7, 2025, fails to address the core issues I raised in my original submission. It merely confirms receipt of my complaint and states that the matter has been forwarded for additional internal review, with no clear timeframe, no explanation of what is being investigated, and no proposed resolution.
This non-response does not constitute a resolution or even a meaningful step toward one. As a customer, I deserve a timely, transparent, and thorough explanation of the actions TD Bank is taking in response to my concerns. Simply acknowledging my complaint and stating that someone may follow up in the future is not acceptable.
Until a detailed and specific resolution is provided, I consider this matter unresolved.
Sincerely,
**** ******

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.
I categorically reject TD Banks May 15, 2025, response as wholly unsatisfactory, evasive, and deeply troubling.
TD Bank claims that my account was closed due to 22 checks totaling $1,844,500 being labeled Refer to Maker or Altered/Fictitious, yet they fail to provide a single piece of evidence to support this serious and reputationally damaging allegation. No check copies. No communication history. No findings from an actual investigation.
Even more damning is what TD Bank conveniently omitsthat they themselves requested Endorsement Authorization and Release forms from the makers of these checks. That is an explicit and documented acknowledgment that the bank did not consider me to be the party who altered the checks. In fact, their own internal actions prove that they viewed me as needing to be cleared, not accused.
This begs the question:
If TD Bank knew I did not alter the checks or manufacture fictitious items, why are they refusing to accept any accountability for the resulting financial damage, fees, and reputational harm theyve caused?
Instead, they fall back on a blanket clause giving them the right to close accounts at any time for any or no reason, as if that erases their obligation to act ethically, transparently, and fairlyespecially when nearly $2 million in transactions are involved.
Let me be clear: I was not informed in advance of these account closures. I was not given the opportunity to respond or defend myself. I was simply cut off and later told, without evidence, that my banking relationship posed a risk. That is not customer serviceits corporate cowardice.
TD Banks response also fails to address the issue of who is responsible for the substantial fees and financial complications stemming from this matter. By hiding behind vague legal language and offering no resolution, no remediation,and no detail, TD Bank continues to avoid accountability and punish the innocent.
This is not an isolated incidentTD Bank has a well-documented history of abrupt account closures, poor communication, and unjustified accusations against its own customers. The pattern is clear. And in this case, the consequences were not just financialthey were reputational, operational, and deeply personal.
Until TD Bank provides a full, transparent accounting of:
The actual findings behind the claim that the checks were altered/fictitious;
The role I am accused of playing (or more accurately, not playing);
Who will take responsibility for the fees and business damage caused;
I will continue to treat this complaint as unresolved.
Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.

On April 15th I missed the deposit cut-off time of 8pm by about 12 minutes and was then charged $140 in OD fees the next day, which caused my account to spiral out of control due to their continued erroneous fees over the next five days. They charged me another $175 the following day, then another $35 two days later. In a matter of five days they charged me a total of $350, which is absolutely absurd! According to their website, the maximum fees they will charge your account is three per day. Not four on one day, then five more the next day. It's quite appearant that TD Bank is ripping off their customers and is obviously trying to recoup the 3 Billion dollars in penalties that the ****** ordered them to pay for criminal activities and money laundering about six months ago. They're obviously an unscrupulous organization and need to be audited and watched very closely.Business Response
