      Started off with an ad on ******** saying Open Casting Call for an upcoming movie (Half Baked 2). Got e-mail to pick a time to join a Zoom meeting. Host comes on, explains this is for a Modeling and ********************** and NOT for any particular movie opportunity. Host goes on to say that they will not move forward with us UNLESS we pay ~$100 upfront and ~$40/month thereafter. Very deceptive, I just wanted to apply for work. Typically, one does not pay to apply for work. I would like them to be more upfront in their future advertisements.

      *********************** attended our 11am Virtual open call on October 18th, 2022 after responding to a text message that was sent to him with appointment details. In the text sent to him, we inform talent they are coming in for a virtual open call and this call is not an audition. All of our services are provided on the call and aspiring models and actors are encouraged to ask an questions they may have related to those services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused *********************** and will share his suggestions with our management team. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

      Hi trade out the company years ago and then it seems every year for the last three years they contact me to try to get me back in there by paying their monthly fee and telling me that they will waive the $99 enrollment fee which I believe was a waste of my time and money since they really didnt do anything for me! The pictures That they took were horrible and my toddler takes better pictures of me, they could never schedule me for the series of appointments that they promised from the beginning, and then every time they want to follow up with me and I reply they never respond to that reply! And when you look them up online it shows that the business is permanently closed!

      ********************************* signed up for our services on August 9th, 2017 and was scheduled for a follow up appointment for August 26th, 2017. My records show that she was a no show for that follow up appointment, and did not reschedule another one. ********************************* removed all of the photos taken of her in our office with photos she took herself. If you would like to continue services, we can waive the monthly fee for 6 months and begin marketing you out again for castings and training classes. We are unfortunately unable to issue a refund for the fee purchased 5 years ago for rendered services. You can reach us directly at ****************************************** Thank you.

      Bait and Switch. I am an actor. I was told there was an Open Call. That means an audition where many others will be, and its first come, first seen. Did makeup and hair in preparation for the audition. There was no audition. Instead it was a sales pitch. If you pay 99+ today, we will represent you and send you auditions. First of all, as an acting teacher, I advise my students, If anyone asks you for money to get you auditions, RUN.I sat watching this bait and switch with my mouth agape. As a 40year+ veteran in the industry, I know how to find auditions. Sadly, from what I gathered, many on the call were clueless. Raise your hand if you have never done anything like this before. Multiple hands went up. She would read out random names. Ok, ****, see you. And *************, etc.. These are clueless folks who are being victimized and targeted. Ok ******, ****.. Just click here. Now if you pay $99 today you will get this service. If you dont do it now, I cannot tell you what the price will be. Pressure. Great *****, great ***** youve signed up! Wonderful *****! .Im infuriated. Both as an actor and teacher. Its very wrong and disingenuous and shameful. Went on Nine9s Yelp page. Many, many of the same complaint as mine. Please, look into this. This is not an acceptable business practice. Our staff inform all prospective talent that they are attending a live open call to discuss who we are and what we offer models and actors, and inform them they are not auditioning for a specific project. My apologies this was not relayed to you during the appointment set up process. Transparency is of the upmost importance to us and I will be sure to share this with our management team.       Around the 6th of September of 2022, I had signed up with this business. They received my information after claiming on ******** that they were needing extras for the *********** SVU tv show. I really like the show so I signed up and they took my money and that was it. They told me that they were going to get me submitted for not only SVU but a lot of different shows and other things. They lied about it all. They told me that I would receive an email from them within a few days but none ever came. I called on several ocassions and waited around for about 3 weeks and received nothing. I am tired of this company lying to people getting their hopes up. I want something for my time and money. They should be doing the job that they promised me. These people tried to scam me before years ago when they were One Source Talent and they got away with scamming so many people. They should be forced to do the job as promised.

Her request was processed on September 21st and she was informed of processing time with her bank to receive her refund. Her account has been canceled per her request and we wish her the best.

      These people are scamming people telling them that they are going to be in big shows when they really do not have the big shows and are just scamming people out of money.  They are making false promises to people and something needs to be done about this.  I want the work that I was promised.

      I answered an ad on ******** inviting me to what I believed to be an online audition (job interview) for an acting job. I am a professional actor with more than 30 years of experience and a member of Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA. When Nine9 contacted me to confirm the online meeting, I told them I was a Union member and to reiterate that this was a legitimate audition. Their representative acknowledged that this was a job interview, so you can imagine my confusion when the spokesperson for Nine9 mentioned I would be eligible for employment through their agency only after paying a fee of $550. The fee, she said, was to set up an online profile so they could represent me. This is obviously a scam to prey upon the inexperienced. I immediately ended the interview and am reporting them here.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

      The company 9Nine is not being truthful in its response.  When I confirmed for their event, I made it clear in my response that I believed that I was attending an "audition" and/or "casting"; therefore a job interview.  I also communicated that I am a member of the Screen Actors' Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and as such I can only be represented by a franchised agent and only work under SAG negotiated employer agreements.  In response, I received written confirmation from 9Nine that stated plainly that I am confirmed for the "casting".

      This is patent misrepresentation on their part.  No SAG franchised agent is allowed to charge its clients fees other than those gained after securing employment under a Union contract.  They may NOT charge fees to clients related to "profiles" or "memberships" for the talent to be represented by the agency. 

      9Nine is a scam.  It is a fraudulent business preying on un-knowing inexperienced actors.  It should be shut down.

      I noticed on my bank statement that this company Nine9, which I had never heard of before has been charging my account for what seems like a monthly subscription every month for the total of *****. Some months I was charged in the beginning of the month as well as the end. I contacted my bank and per **** guidelines, they were only able to reimburse me for 3 months. I have tried to contact the company but there hasn't been an answer. I will keep trying but I am hoping that the BBB can assist me with recovering the rest of my money. As previously mentioned, I have never contacted this company before nor had given permission to charge my account. I am seeking reimbursement for March 20 2022, May 2nd 2022, May 31st 2022, June 30th 2022 and August 1st 2022 each for the amount of *****. I have since closed my account and had to order a new credit card to prevent these transactions from reoccuring. I am hoping that Nine9 recognizes that these are fraudulent unauthorized transactions and am hoping that with the assistance of the BBB, I am able to recover these funds.
