I recently responded to a casting call from a ******** ad which led me to be contacted by the company Nine9 Talent. They invited me to sign up for a virtual call for more information, I attended. In this call the representative carried on about how many high profile castings they deliver. How they actively seek roles for you and will submit on your behalf if you wish. He said they charge $99 sign on fee and for that, they would build your profile and set everything up. It was a little higher than I wanted, but I need the work, so I did it. Upon receiving log in details I was shocked to see that I had to build my profile myself. I had to build my resume myself. Why did they charge a setup fee for access? I did it. I began my search to see only a small handful of available castings. Upon reading, it seems they pull castings from other sites and sprinkle the information on their site. I found one to submit you cant. You have to contact the production company or casting agent. Ok. I went to pull my resume so I could email them on my own. They dont allow you to download your resume. So, as you can see, there are no services offered for the money spent. I asked to have my subscription cancelled before any further billing. I also asked for a refund of my setup fee and was denied. They sited that since I had logged in, I had gained value for my dollar. This company is falsely representing what they offer and taking aspiring actors and actresses money over and over again. They need to be shut down. This was a $99 educational ****** for me to be more cautious. But they should be stopped before hundreds or thousands more waste their hard earned money on this scam. If they try to show peoples profiles to justify what they are doing, please note that only lives within their site and no one will ever see it.Business Response

During the sign up and virtual open call we explain all services to aspiring models and actors so they can decide if what we offer is a benefit to what they are looking for in the entertainment industry. During the 10 days you were an active talent with us we submitted you to numerous casting opportunities and you received invitations to training classes taught by industry professionals to address any concerns you may have with your account, as well as update your resume to increase your chances of getting requested to audition or booked. I do not see you signed up for or attended any of those training courses offered as part of the initial fee. My apologies the services did not work out for you. As a courtesy I've issued a refund for the authorize payment made on August 11th. We wish you the best of luck in your goals in the industry and career.Initial Complaint

This company has repeatedly sent advertising text messages to my cellphone, even after they were instructed to stop. My number is on the Federal Do Not Call list, and I have never asked this company for any information, nor gave it permission to solicit me in this manner. I have tried several different times to resolve the matter with the company, but have been ignored. At this point, I need to speak to the company's ATTORNEY or LEGAL REPRESENTATION to get this resolved. Simply "removing my number from their system" will not suffice. This is my last-ditch effort before I contact an attorney myself, and seek significant legal action against Nine9. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20406435, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:As stated, I need to speak to the company's ATTORNEY or LEGAL REPRESENTATION to discuss a resolution. Simply "removing my info" will NOT suffice. There will be financial restitution as allowed by law, as well as a notarized agreement between the company and myself. If that does not happen, I will take significant legal action as allowed by 47 U.S.C. 227(b)(3). I hope we can resolve this before that happens.

I received an unsolicited text message from ************* stating "Hi, I just got your Talent Application and want you to attend a Virtual Open Call tomorrow at either 11am, 3pm or 5pm ET. Which time works best for you?" The thing is, I never submitted a talent application to anyone. I responded asking who it was texting me. They identified themselves as *** "I'm *** with Nine9. We're an entertainment company that connects aspiring Talent with projects locally and nationwide. Which time can you attend?" I told them 11 - she said she would send a confirmation email "You can join it on your phone, tablet or a computer. I'll send an email now with more info and the Zoom link for your Open Call. Good luck!" The next morning she texted asking if I received the email (which I had not.) I spoke with my friend who is a member of SAG and she reminded me that both SAG and the writers unions are on strike so there are not open casting calls going on right now. I decided to look them up and saw all these complaints listed about them. It is clearly a scam and they should not be permitted to operate or continue to scam people! I am submitting this to make others aware. If you want printed copies of the ****** voice texts I would be happy to submit them.Business Response

I signed up for a specific casting call for a spefic role for a specific TV show. When I got on the zoom casting call, it was a huge sales presentation about getting into the industry and what I needed to do (and spend money) to get roles. Completely OPPOSITE of what I was promised and what I signed up for it. This is a SCAM and very unprofessional & shady business practices. There is no promise during any of the communication prior to or during scheduling as the decision to book or request a talent to audition is solely up to the casting director/client. The response is factually INCORRECT. The link I clicked on specifically said "Click this link to apply to be an extra on Season 6 of Cobra Kai". The link specifically named the TV show that the ca Cobra Kai Season 6 casting call. This link was specifically for this TV show. This company mentioning that this was a "general call to listen onto how you can become an extra" and to pay this company money is completely opposite with what the advertisement link said. This was a misleading and fraudulent representation of what was reasonably expected from anyone that saw the link.

Came across a sponsored ad stating that there were acting opportunities for Outer Banks season 4 with this company Nine9. We were asked to be on a zoom call. Along with a credit card information. The lady did state the first months registration would be covered and if we wanted to end this membership/registration we were able to at anytime. ***************** signed up for our services on February 28th, 2023 after attending a virtual open call with office director ********** Since his enrollment with us he has logged into the account via is iPhone mobile device as recently as March 7th, 2023 and has had access to attending 12 different training classes, as well as submission to over *********************************************************************************** addition to these services, we also submit talent for projects they fit for. As of today, March 29th, 2023, we have no communication (emails, texts, phone calls) from ***************** stating he was looking to cancel or was having an issue in receiving any of the services offered. I've personally reached out to him at his *** email listed and as of today, March 29th, 2023, I have received no response regarding a resolution to this complaint. Came across a sponsored ad stating that there were acting and modeling opportunities on tik tok with this company Nine9. We were asked to be on a zoom call. We were giving information regarding what field we were interested in and further asked to put in information about ourselves. Along with a credit card information. The lady did state the first months registration would be covered and if we wanted to end this membership/registration we were able to at anytime. A few moments later I was charge 99$ from my account to Nine9. I emailed along with texted Nine9 about the charges. The sent me the form and page were it states different information than what was told. They did get back to me about refunding and canceling my account. Scammed me for $99. Went to a recorded virtual casting call they tried passing off as a live casting as none of the chat questions were even acknowledged yet they were answering questions from the chat. I was directed to a site to purchase their services, I knew something didn't seem right but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and sure enough as soon as I submitted my payment the bank flagged it for fraud, I immediately disputed it and canceled the card.They continue to send me texts asking for me to do a virtual casting call. Won't give you any physical addresses, phone, numbers or emails. They only direct you to their fake fronted website and social media accounts. If you look them up the only time you see good reviews is from their own platforms.If they continue to contact me I'll join their castings to warn everyone in the chat of the scam as well as seek legal action for harassment. Went for an open casting call for the television Chicago PD went through their process at the office in ******** ******** and when I met with the last person involved I was told that I didnt have enough experience and then he explained that I needed to attend a workshop which cost almost $400 and since then Ive been still receiving emails from themBusiness Response
