1 starWhile my experience began on a positive note, it's been very frustrating since. I am only leaving this review because the only proactive communication I've received since 11/2020 was this request to leave a review.TL;DR If I could do it again, I would have contacted **** of America (my debt holder) directly to negotiate. That was my initial preference as the debt was legitimate and my responsibilityI just got in too deep. SNF rep told me this was a bad idea and instructed me NOT to respond to BofA communications.Further context below: I was solicited by SNF. Being unfamiliar with the debt-reduction space, I pursued the opportunity without much more than a web search. The sales process was smooth and the rep was knowledgable. This was the best part of the process. During the sales cycle, they assured me that they had a great relationship with **** and that while there were no guarantees, it was likely to settle quickly and save me up to 50% on my debt. Once the negotiation process began, it took much longer than I was led to believe (months) and there was ZERO communication. I requested status updates due to the unexpected length of time to settle. The final settlement, plus their fees, was nearly identical to what I initially owed. However, by the time they settled the amount was thousands higher (interest + penalties) because they instructed me to stop paying my bill. I didn't want to accept the settlement amount, but I allowed myself to be convinced of the futility of pushing harder and ended up accepting. Since that time, there been ZERO communication and the web portal showing my account status is poorly designed and unclear. I couldn't tell how much I'd paid and how much I still owed. I reached out to my "account manager" who had evidently left the company shortly after I was onboarded and her email was completely unmonitored. I finally went through the general contact method to figure all this out.Review fromMiriam S
