      I am extremely distressed and disappointed with this horrible business. I had a line catch on fire and it caused my electric meter to catch on fire. Consumers did not send electricians out to come fix the problem. Luckily my husband and the neighbor fixed that, but they left it ON ** to fix. I have been without power for 20 days, because of this, and now I have to wait for longer, because their office is open only 3 days a week!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY! I would change my electric, if I could! It's not MY FAULT that a transformer caught on fire and left me in the dark! Consumers should have fixed that!

      Consumers Energy is an absolutely horrible electric company. They are always asking for rate increases for jobs that never get done. They over charge customers, round up on ********************** usage (not an actual reading). On top of all this the fees charged all across the bill cost more than what your electric usage costs. I had a bill for about 250. My energy usage charge was about $80 and the other $170 was just for there fees alone. This company is a huge joke. We should be allowed to switch to a different electric company if we want so we dont have these money hungry jerks ripping everyone off.

      Power outage every couple weeks. Always first to lose power and last to get it back. Always work on the people who live in cities first before us in the country. Outage lasts several days sometimes. It has become an annual tradition for our family to live in a hotel for a week while the power is “worked on”.

      Absolutely horrible my bill went from 130 the past month to 160 the next month during the month when neither my ac or gas have been running. My usage is not even over 2 dollars a day so I'm getting charged an extra hundred dollars. This company is shameful.

      I was one of the last customers impacted by the recent storms, I didnt lose power until Saturday morning at 7. I appreciate the work the crews have been doing to restore our service, and that they brought in crews from other states. However, Ive been watching the outage map since I lost power and at one point there was over 500 crews working. Right now there is only 251. Maybe if they had kept more of the crews Id already have power its like the closer they got to 100% the faster they release crews. At this point Im going to lose most of my food plus refrigerated medications. If the power had been restored yesterday Id be fine. Yet, I wont be out of power long enough to qualify for a consumers energy credit, not that that would have come close to what it will cost me. While I dont have a choice in energy providers Ive generally been fine with Consumers, even in other outages. This one though has completely frustrated me.

      Company has done two rate increases and seeking a third for faster restoration times and trimming trees on power lines. We have been without power for 3 days and they keep increasing the estimated restoration times. But to get a credit for all the food you have just had to throw away or for the days without electric seems almost impossible.

      I wish I could give 0 stars. Consumers is impossible to deal with. **************** is not helpful, the website is not helpful, and the charges are ridiculous. I'm in the process of starting service at a newly built home and this process has held up the whole thing. We've had problems at every single step of the way and nobody seems to be able to help. I would go through another company if possible but they have a monopoly on the area.

      Consumers is terrible, but unfortunately they have a monopoly on providing electricity. Over one week we experienced 70 brownouts. Now most of my big electronics are fried. Hot tub, furnace/ac, etc. This is costing me thousands of dollars and they won't cover it because of some clause in a contract I have to sign just to get energy. Can't wait until I get solar.

      Stay away from same monthly payment plan they will not bill you for a month and then bill you for the previous month. Good thing I had money saved expecting something wrong. And, they won't even give you a solution for their mistake and said they can only say sorry. Ya, sorry company.

      Smelled gas yesterday and called consumers! First ****** was here very quickly . Had to call in a crew and welder. Couldnt have been happier with our encounter with them. Friendly , skilled group. Kept us informed with everything they were doing. Had to dig up our road and replace copper pipes. Long day for this crew, never got out of here until midnight! Thanks again!!
