Water began leaking into my house, and I discovered a warranty from Hansons left by the previous homeowners. Before a Hansons representative came out, I had another roofing company inspect the issue. They informed me that Hansons' poor installation had caused significant problems beyond just the water leak. The roof was installed so poorly that mold has developed on the decking, the wood is deteriorating, nails are popping out of the shingles, and there is a hole near the furnace vent due to the roof's weakened state. The roof is only 12 years old and should not have any issues. Concerned, I sought a second opinion from another roofing professional, who confirmed the serious issues caused by Hansons' workmanship. When the Hansons representative finally arrived, he didnt inspect the roof or check the attic for damage. Instead, he simply told me I had every right to be upset. Shortly after leaving, he sent me an estimate for a new roof, which was not what I requested. Despite multiple attempts to contact him, he has been unresponsive. When I reached out to Hansons' service department, the representative I spoke with became confrontational, claiming my warranty was void because it hadnt been transferred to my name. However, the warranty certificate I have contains no mention of any requirement for transfer. To make matters worse, she stated that even if I was willing to pay Hansons to inspect the roof, she would refuse to arrange ***** this point, I believe this situation has escalated into fraud and negligence. Hansons is refusing to stand behind their work and honor the warranty, leaving me to deal with the consequences of their poor installation.Business Response
Date: 03/19/2025
The warranty transfer must be applied for within 90 days of home purchase. Please see our website for more information, As the sale occurred 4 years ago a warranty will not apply
Hansons has no responsibility if you were not informed by the previous owner.
The representative was not a service tech and did quote for a new roof if desired.
Regarding asking for a "refund" You never purchased any product or service.
We hope you find a resolution ,

All of our windows were installed by ************** years ago. We were told there was a lifetime warranty for the windows. Our windows have had condensation for years now. We called ******** about the problem; however, they will NOT replace the windows. Seems a lifetime warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. I would suggest to anyone doing business with this company, don't believe a word they say. We cannot tell you how disappointed we are with this company.Business Response

I paid for install of new facial boards and gutters. Somewhere along the lines the facial boards were not included in the price. Although zi asked the gentleman who gave the estimate along with ******. The lady in the office who took payment and was also told by her the facial boards were included. The install was scheduled. The installers showed up. They couldn't install because the boards were not included. I called Hansons to rectify the problem. I was then told I would be paying extra. Which was already supposed to be included. I then ended up talking to *****. The **. We agreed on a resolution concerning the boards. The new install date was scheduled for today Jan 10, 2025. Installers showed up. Again, they can't install because the boards were not part of the install. I called Hansons while the installers were here. Of course, there was nobody available to talk to. Now, I apparently am waiting for a call back from someone. I'm frustrated. I paid $2000 to have new gutters i stalled. Its been 2 months and still nothing. When I requested my money back to go elsewhere. I was told no. Either I get what I paid for or I want my money back to go somewhere else. This is ridiculous.Business Response

Earlier this summer i had a roof replaced through hansons for 20,000$ the week of construction, the first day they had torn the old roof off, it started raining so the project wasnt completed until the following week, meanwhile it rained in my house for most that week. When they finally did finish the work a lot of the shingles appeared to be installed wrong (curling, uneven rows, etc.) So i got ahold of them to fix/replace what was wrong. Theyve scheduled and canceled at least 5 appointments for various reasons on why they cant come inspect the work. Sunday 12/28/2024 i noticedmy roof was leaking still so i called again for an appointment scheduled 1/6/2025 which they have once again canceled and rescheduled.Business Response

Hansons takes warranty issues seriously and will attend to them asap.
Our inspection indicated any water intrusion is the result of the unfinished chimney not the roofing.
We hope this information will be of use.

windows not put in properly resulting in outside air leaking into our home. With windows closed and locked the wind coming in blows out curtains like windows are open and very loud whistling sounds. We have contacted them and followed their directions and told we would be contacted to correct the problem 4 times from date of problem following directions we were provided. Still nothing resolved or followed up on their end. We filled the required form provided video as instructed. We were told we would be contacted to set time to resolve. Two weeks later no service call received . Called again and told it would be two more weeks. Denied ability to talk to upper management to resolve I have asked to directly to speak to a manager nothing. Asked for management above her denied. Told us she was corporate and nobody for us to speak to and that she has no number or emails for us to attempt ourselves . Only general manager names but wouldnt tell us how to speak to them. We were told inter office emails have been passed and they received to reply back We payed in full per our end of the agreement but they have failed to complete the job. We have exhausted all options to resolve with them. Weve been patient but enough. This must be resolved and will start with you. We feel you will also have no luck. What are our options at this time? Weve been lied to And no trust in them to follow through to fix We should not be denied to speak with anyone other than ***** we want answers and problem resolved immediately. I dont want communication from them other than we will be there to fix and date provided. We have given enough of our time to resolve this directly with them. We paid a very large amount of money for service not completed correctly. And have been chasing our tail with problems from the very beginning of the sale. I dont know how to get this quickly resolved without a lawsuit. Who runs a company with no available management for customers to speak with.Business Response

I agreed to have ****** install new roof on my house and noticed the roof was warped after installation and told them to fix it. They refused unless I spent more money then agreed. I still need gutters done but they would like to fix the roof properly before they continue with the gutters. ****** is canceling service because I dont believe I need to pay more to have a quality job done on my roof.Business Response

The facts will show that the roof has been completed per contract specifications and during the completion the existing internal rafters were discovered damaged .And additional costs to repair was refused ,
The integrity of the roof installed is 100%
The second part of contract is the gutters and installation has been refused as such "breach of contract terms have been initiated and legal costs fees and interest may occur.
The contract is specific that "full payment is due upon substantial l completion and has been refused "

We have had no screens that fit the new windows since installation. They have brought 3 sets of FLEX screens that leave huge gaps for bugs and dirt to enter the house....Can't open the windows. Have been told they will get it fixed and have heard NOTHING FOR months. Cold weather hit and our windows have air flowing in the rooms are cold and we have to run heaters for new windows. We have called the company MANY times and are to get a call back by end of day and a call NEVER comes. I wish we would have left our 30year old windows in as they were better than these!!!Business Response

2 years after ordering windows and over 18 months installed we still don't have the defective windows replaced or the flexible screen for the dining room. Everytime there is an appointment to wrap up the job it is canceled due to the replacement being defective and discovered before coming or installed defective. In the last four days multiple calls have been placed trying to get the job finished and messages that *** ****** would get back to us and nobody does. We are still needing two half moon windows replaced in the living room, a laundry room window replaced and a flexible screen for the large dining room window. We have been making payments since April 2023 and the project is still not completed. We have had to take numerous days off work to just have to do it again. We are asking for a 25 percent refund as we are closing in on 2 years of waiting and these are expensive windows in addition to the project being completed.Business Response

Hansons management has visited and inspected and as you are aware parts are ordered .Regarding the arch windows the specs are industry standards and a matter of exterior trim being "DISPLACED" which was unusual Hansons would address but service has refused ,This may cause the warranty to be voided.
As far as the history and any warranty issues we are sorry but no compensation is forthcoming .
Hansons stands by it warranty and is ready willing and able to address any covered issues .

It's been over 12 months and Hansons' window project at our house is still incomplete. We asked them to replace 6 windows, and the physical project started Oct 2023. Working with them has been one of the worst and most expensive experiences to date! After more than 10 visits to re-do, repair their work and/or replace parts...and after chasing them immeasurable times via phone and email, we're now down to one window still not locking. Tech **** lied to his manager that the work was done during this latest visit to our home 10/22/24. After working at our home for about 3 hours, he angrily pushed his way in front of us which forced one of us into a closed in area by the window only to see that the window truly still did NOT lock. He further acted in hostility toward us by raising his voice about the number of times he's been to our house and the drive he had on his return home, although the windows not working have nothing to do with us as a customer AND we're the ones who have had to take time off work to accommodate their long visits times over the past 12 months. He snarkily said that the **** would have to be replaced AGAIN. He then hastily grabbed all his equipment, stormed down the stairs, hitting our walls along the way and slammed our front door as he left. After this hostile engagement and still no project completion, he had the audacity to lie to his manager that the job was done and proclaim some sort of physical altercation. That is absurd especially since he was hostile towards us. We had no reason to be mad at him, he is an employee-not company owner. That false claim only adds more insult to injury. Who treats customers this way, especially after over 12 months on a project that should be one and done?! This is a very expensive job, not only due to ******** price but also the lost money in lost work time on our end. This company has many similar complaints on many forums.COMPLETED project and billing adjustment requested.Business Response

This latest incident, 10/22, has no resolution and no response to our calls/emails to date. Every time I think this experience can't get worse--it does. We will not be recommending this company to any one for any reason. We do expect this project to be completed in a timely manner, although it's evident that our time means nothing to this company. Having a non-locking window is never acceptable. Sending out hostile techs, is also not acceptable. Subject: BBB complaint #********Still not satisfied with the service, workmanship and product from Hansons Windows. They are treating this as a warranty issue when their original project was never completed nor signed off by us.
They sent a manager to review the last window that's still not working (not locking or sealing correctly) and verified our complaint. Supposedly, a new part or complete window will be ordered, but I don't have clarification on what will be done nor when. I believe this makes their total visits to our home to attempt to complete our project/fix their errors ~13 times.
We are not satisfied with this project. We are certainly not satisfied with the price we've had to pay for all of this!

We hired Hansons to install a roof and gutters. The crew they sent told them they need all new plywood on the house before they could roof it. We agreed with the condition we wouldnt be charged for the plywood not used. They did not redo any of the plywood on the addition of my house. They are charging me for 66 pieces of plywood at $84 a sheet when they used 48 sheets. I have the video footage of the workers only taking 49 off the stack and putting one back because it slid off the roof and was damaged.
