Ordered a new window for ****** - Window was received broken 3 times - Was told they "value customers" yet in order to have it shipped to a dealer I needed to receive 5 YES 5 broken window shipments first and that's there "policy" so I had a hole in my house for MONTHS. - Ordered a part for a different window (balancers) they said yea you can do 2 day shipping so i paid them ****** for 2 day shipping to receive it that same weekend. My order was ****** plus shipping for an additional ******. - Product never came, a week later its still not here and *** says it was shipped "standard 3 day shipping" I called customer service and they didn't care AT ALL.I want my money back for this horrible service, I would never recommend this company to anyone ever. I even contacted customer service by email and was told " we will get back to you within 3 business days" guess what... they didnt.Business Response

On Tuesday May 30, 2023 at 1:28pm EST I called Andersen about a broken hinge on my storm door after accessing their website to ensure that the replacement was covered under their limited lifetime warranty. I spent 18 minutes and 30 seconds on the phone with one of their female representatives explaining the issue and, since the door was bought by the previous owner immediately before us buying the house and it was not registered, registering the door to my fianc who owns our house. She took the information, registered the door to his name, and put me on hold. After a few minutes, she came back on the line and told me that the part is not covered under warranty. I read to her from their website the statement that it was covered under warranty and she changed the reason to "based on the serial number you provided, we no longer make that model so the replacement parts are not available". When I told her that the warranty should be honored and that I would be lodging a complaint with the BBB, she put me on hold again, then came back on the line and again changed the reason, stating that they have a non transferable policy and that since my fianc did not buy the door, they cannot honor the warranty. I told her that this is not a transfer problem, since the door has never been registered to anyone except my fianc, and she told me that her line is recorded and that she can prove that I told her that he did not originally buy it. I repeated that he did not buy it, but that it has only been registered to him and that we can provide the deed to the house to prove he owns it if she wants. She told me that if we can provide the receipt to the door, she will honor the warranty. I again informed her that I would be filing this complaint and that we would never purchase from them again. I feel that they should honor this warranty since it was never registered to the previous owners and this is an ongoing issue with this company so much so that there are ******* videos about it!Business Response

Purchased new home. Windows were bowed. Called manufacture 12-19-2022. They had me do a bunch of checks on windows first. Agent agreed they looked like they were bowed. He said they would have someone call to set up appointment to come and look at. Called back on 1-25-2023 and this time she said it looked like it was not a warranty issue but because my earlier call the agent said it may be she would ok it for service to come and look at. She said this does not guarantee it would be a manufacturing issue. I said when they come to the house and explain that it is not and why not i would be satisfied. Called back again on 2-23-23 and they stated that the field manager looked at pictures and said he was not coming out to look at as he did not feel this would be a warranty issue. I explained ******** Windows agent agreed to send someone out to look over. All i want is for them to come to my home and look at with me. The following is just FYI. They are building a new house next to us and installing ******** window. I talked to the installer around 5-8-23 who i believe works for ************** and Restoration. He stated the quality on ******** windows has been bad for the last 3 years. He stated he was having issues with out of square and bowing of window, which is the issue we are having.Business Response

The Andersen ***************** Manager for the customer's area will call the customer to discuss his concerns and arrange for a visit to the home. Andersen will agree to inspect the Andersen products in goodwill to the customer. This is in goodwill only and not covered under the Andersen Limited Warranty. From the photos Andersen believes that this is not a Limited Warranty concern but we are willing to come out to inspect the units. Trim may need to be removed during the visit on one or two of the units and replacing the trim after the inspection will be the customer's responsibility.Customer Answer

I had ordered replacement parts for my "lifetime warranty" Storm door from ******** Corporation, but unfortunately, the entire process turned out to be a nightmare. The first item was lost in transit, and it took a week of back-and-forth with customer service to get a replacement, which was promised to be expedited but was shipped ground and took over a week to arrive.Even worse, when the replacement item finally arrived, it was completely wrong. The overseas customer service team told me that it was the correct part, but advised me to modify it to fit - which I found completely unacceptable. After dismantling and removing the part I needed, I was left with no choice but to use them on my old door.Frustrated and disappointed with the whole ordeal, I decided to take matters into my own hands and reverse-engineered the part they sent to make it fit the part I was replacing. The next morning, I called ** customer service to share my terrible experience but was transferred back to the overseas team. Despite proving them wrong several times, I was not able to get the issue resolved and ended up receiving a refund. As a semi-professional builder and remodeler, I find ******** Corporation's customer service practices appalling. They ship incorrect parts that require severe modification and claim they are "direct replacements" This is misleading to consumers. Given the premium prices they charge for their products, this level of incompetence and lack of care is completely unacceptable. I will not be using ******** Corporation for any future projects and would not recommend them to anyone.Business Response

To whom it may concern, My husband, *************************** and I, had our new home built in ******, *******. 10 ********** ******, ******* We assumed occupancy in May 2021. We relied upon our general contractor for recommendations and exclusively ordered Andersen 100 series windows and patio doors. We have amazing views!! Subsequent to moving in we realized the windows were problematic and also had distorted glass. ************************* did come to the property on 11/10/21 (initial inspection) 03/09/22 (accompanied by ********************* ***************** Manager) and 10/19/22. ***** did state that the 100 series were usually for apartment houses and not custom homes. We were dumbfounded. On both 11/10/21 and 03/09/22 new glass was installed in the window but was found to be more distorted than the original. In an e mail, dated 11/02/22, ********************* did state that as per Cardinal Glass Code the glass falls within specifications of tempered glass and is not considered a failure. He further stated that the Andersen would not warrant or pro rate a replacement. If that is the case why attempt replacement on 2 different occasions?? We did e mail 31 executive officers of Andersen and received a call from *****( administrative assistant) who stated Andersen would not do anything further to resolve the problem As a consumer I find this lack of cooperation unacceptable. Its simple, do the right thing We would appreciate Andersen standing behind their products and look forward to a resolution. A replacement window or an upgrade to 400 series ( we would be happy to pay the difference) We can be reached via e mail or cell phone at ************ Regards, ***************************************Business Response

The Andersen ***************** has spoken with the customer in response to each contact with ********************** regarding their concerns. Andersen and the ***************** Manager, *********************, have explained to the customer that the appearance of the glass that they have described as distortion is the appearance of tempered glass which is what was ordered by the customers for their home in ****** *******. In goodwill to the customer in an attempt to assist them with their concerns Andersen did agree at the customer's request to provide some replacement sash. This was purely in goodwill to the customer and not an admission of liability on the part of Andersen. The appearance of the glass is within specification for tempered glass. This has been explained to the customer. Please let us know if we can provide any additional information.Initial Complaint

They sold me a door, and the weatherstripping has come loose three different times in a year and a half. There is clearly something defective with this door, and they refuse to have someone come out and fix it. They keep offering to send me the same parts that they have already sent that has not fixed the door. This is a $4,000 door, and I want it replaced with one that is not defective or fixed in a way that is up to the standard of a brand new door.Business Response

On May 13,2019 I purchased 2 ******** **** series ventilating storm doors in black. I have no problem with the one one the back door but the front door failed to lock properly- the lock just kept spinning. I went on u tube and saw where this was a very common problem along with a tutorial on how to reset the lock by putting the key in and turning that one way while turning the inside lock in a different direction to reset the lock. It worked for a few weeks but then started to just spin again. Meanwhile I called customer service and they sent out a new lockcase on 12/19/19. I had that installed and again the lock worked for a short period of time but then I had to continually reset the lock manually. Again I called customer service and again they sent me another lockcase in 08/22 - meanwhile I am still constantly having to reset the lock manually. I am a 75 year old widow and do not feel I should have to do this to lock my door. The lock has not worked for several months and I am now holding the door closed with a bungee cord which is insane. I feel my only recourse is to replace the door complete in the spring but I also feel ******** should be responsible for this as my complaints with customer service started a few months after the purchase of the doors. I called customer service today and the said the can only send me another replacement lockcase. I said whats the point - the door is a lemon. Please help me. I just want a locking door so that I can feel safe living alone. I have researched this problem and apparently its a very very common problem. Thanks in advance for your help.Business Response

Andersen requests that the customer discuss the concerns with an open box with ************** where they purchased the door. The call center can identify wind damage that might occur by photos and/or a description of what the customer describes to them related to any damage to the door. This is not covered under the Limited Warranty. I would be happy to provide an additional copy of the Limited Warranty to the customer if they would like an additional copy.Customer Answer
