These bottom feeders called me to try to “collect a debt” from my mother who died from brain cancer in August. Not fully through my grieving and they want to “give my condolences” and in the same breath ask if I’m willing to pay her debt. I hope they lose their mothers and feel the pain, only to have a soulless non-human call them going yeah sorry but can you pay ? How they get up every day and convince themselves that this job is fulfilling and righteous is beyond me, you are vile and I hope you lose your mother to cancer so you can feel the excruciating pain I did by your call.

They gave themselves a five star rating. That says a lot about how desperate they are. They are not too bright, the way they call from an obvious call center that's loud and pushing for numbers. They are invading privacy and preying on families that have lost their loved ones. A huge, inappropriate joke, they are.

I was contacted by Ascension Point via my mobile number. We have handled all financial matters dealing with my deceased mother, so she does not have any questionable debt. These phone calls made me research this company, and sure enough, seems very shady. We would like to be left alone from this point on!

My wife passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2025, at the age of 50. We were married for 25 years. She took care of all our finances. I have spoken to a lawyer regarding any debt that I am not legally tied to. I don't live in a community state, so I'm not responsible for any debt that was my wife's alone. I'm still in shock and grieving, and these morons have to gall to send me a letter asking who's in charge of her estate. She had no estate, no living Will, and no assets. I've paid off all the debts that I'm required to pay back. This company needs to cease and desist all future correspondence with me or I will forced to contact my attorney and file a complaint with the BBB.

I received a letter address to my own estate with a different first name that was close to mine but not the same first name. I am definately not deceased and do not know who this was supposed to be but they definately do not have the correct information and I have no idea how her name would have been put with my address! I do not have anyone that is deceased and I do not owe anything that is in collections

I’m glad I came here to see all these reviews. My dear mom passed away 3 months ago and they sent a letter to my parents home. He called me immediately because I handle the affairs. My mom’s debts have been paid and it wasn’t that much to begin with. So I will not be contacting you about anything. Anyone else think it’s funny they use the same generic letter as their response to reviews on here?

Within three weeks of my husband's passing, prior to his funeral and me even having an opportunity to communicate with all of his financial institutions, I began receiving letters from Ascension Point about a financial matter and them wanting to confirm who is authorized to act on behalf of my husband's estate. My husband has NO ASSETS AND NO ESTATE. I have settled ALL of his financial matters including credit cards and medical bills. I have names and dates of everyone whom I spoke with to close his accounts. I have also received letters verifying accounts are closed and that I have no further obligation related to his accounts. I have documentation that ALL accounts are settled. Cease sending letters and stop attempting to make contact via phone immediately. You are owed nothing! I agree with everyone else's comments. SCAM....I also find it interesting that there is so little information on the "CEO", John Gillard or on who actually owns and operates this company. It appears to be a mystery.

My son received a notification in the mail of estate issues from this company following the passing of my wife.
First, I have no estate issues, I am the spouse and have control of all finances for over over 20 years and have never been late on any payment.
Second, why is my son receiving this message? He has no knowledge or authority for any actions. In this case I never received the message so it doesn't exist to me.
Third, A company that leverages families as a ploy for money after the loss of their loved one should be shut down and dismantled by the BBB / Government for their ethics.
Stop playing on the hearts of those who lost the most important thing in their life.

I add my disappointment about this company. to all of yours. I pay my husband bill from his state, right on time every month, but yesterday I received a Probate Court statement of creditor's claim initiated by Ascension Point without a reason for this claim since the final balance is of $120.00 and due January 29, 2025.
This claim has upset me greatly because there is no bases for a claim in court and also to have my dead husband's name brought up in court just because of their mistake. call them, to ask to clear this with the court , at no avail

Dear Ms. ******************* you for bringing your concerns to our attention, and please accept this response on behalf of AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC,as a sincere apology for any confusion or stress you may have experienced. More importantly, please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. Please rest assured that in no way do we wish to make the administration of an estate more difficult or confusing for anyone than it already is.

To provide a bit of background, please understand that we believe the probate filing you reference was merely to update the court with respect to a balance adjustment that occurred on the account after the initial proof of claim filing. As such, our intent was merely to keep all parties, including the court, apprised of the current status of things, and we do sincerely apologize if the filing created any confusion or stress as that is never our intent. As recently discussed with our office, upon receipt of final payment, satisfaction paperwork will be filed with a copy to you reflecting resolution.

We also want to thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention, and again extend to you our deepest condolences. We hope the explanation of our actions satisfactorily clarifies some things and adequately addresses your concerns, but if we are incorrect, do please feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions or concerns. They lied to me, they offered to settle my dead relatives estate for half the amount. I paid them thousands of dollars to remove the property lien. Then they sent me letters thanking me for partial payment. And now they want the remaining balance. Just wait and go to court with these dishonest people
