This company is disrespectful my mother unexpectedly passed and now they want money for it. I closed all accounts in her name and the debt was forgiven however, this disgusting company wants my money. I have been grieving and they will not give me a break so I can close my estate account.AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC

To provide a bit of background, our office specializes in estate recoveries for our clients and our efforts center on attempting to locate an authorized estate representative to assist in the resolution of accounts out of estate assets, if any. You are correct in that neither you nor any family or person(s) handling the estate are personally responsible for any estate matter placed in our office, and we always do our best to make that clear in every communication. Moreover, we always take any request to end further contacts very seriously, and in light the information you have kindly shared, we have updated our records and notified our client of the same. These creeps called my mother today and told her her son was dead. She called me as I was walking through the door to work, upset and scared that her son was dead. I then spent my first few hours at work verifying that he was not deceased. They don't vet their information. They don't know anything about who they are calling about. They don't verify deaths. He is in a Puerto Rican Prison, and we are not Spanish-speaking. It was very difficult getting through to someone who could verify he had not died in jail. We were very concerned due to his mental health condition and situation. They're just getting tidbits of information and running with it regardless of possible consequences. It seems that if they can track down people's family members, they should be able to track death certificates. For two hours this morning, my mother believed her son was dead. They claim sensitivity training and professionalism. We didn't even know who they were; they never identified their true motivation for calling. The fact that there is a section on their web page titled "Why am I being contacted by ascensionpoint?" leads me to believe this is common practice. They should first identify themselves as debt collectors, then second state that they received a report that they may be deceased and provide the date of that report. But no they could not provide that information even when asked, they stated they could only talk to the executor of his estate. He collects social security and lives on the street when he's not incarcerated. If they know who his mother is, they should know at least this much.AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC

This company disgusts me, they are phishing for people’s personal information in disguise. They have sent me a letter saying how sorry feel about the passing of my father telling me if I have the authorization to act on behalf of his estate to contact them for personal representation. My father has been passed many years ago, there is no estate to represent because all matters according were settled many years ago. I also got a letter from the same company just a few weeks after my aunt passed as well.
Please look into this company and it’s business practices in trying to get peoples personal information by a phishing letter after the death of one’s family memberAscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC

I am appalled by this company. My elderly parents received a phone call from these people asking to speak to me (I live abroad) about my ex-husband's debts. We have been divorced for over 25 years, and I didn't even know he had died. Not a nice way to find out. We were divorced for a very good reason and it upset my family and me to even have to hear his awful name again. Let alone a debt company trying to contact me for whatever he's done over the past 30 odd years. I asked for them to not contact me or my family again. This company and companies like it should have limits on who they contact. Absolutely disgusting.AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC

I keep blocking their number and they keep calling me back... Get the hint. I don't want to talk to you. I lost my father back in Oct and I am sure they are trying to make me pay for whatever they think I should pay for my dad. Give it a rest... Honestly it is so annoying getting phone calls from you guys. Let people grieve without trying to get money out of them!AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC
