Masters clinical mental health counseling student. Was loving the school and professors until one. I saw there was a way to petition grades given within 30 days and first emailed the professor to no avail. Saw the next step was to submit an online petition for grade review, but couldn’t find that anywhere. The professor refused to give me partial points on my skillsetters and even commented that some were good, but I didn’t hit every single mark. I was able to demonstrate the skills in the rubric (the main point), but didn’t use the wording she wanted, so I received a 0 (doesn’t say points are all or nothing anywhere). I have never failed an assignment and have now failed multiple from this professor. I went from 4.0 from all my other classes to now barely getting by in this one (yet it’s not done for a couple more weeks). I asked her to consider some partial points, but was told no. Earlier was docked points for commenting on 2 discussion posts instead of more, despite the instructions being to comment on 2. This school needs to look closer at the professors and make it easier to make complaints for unfair grading, especially for the amount of money and time already spent pursuing this degree.Walden University, LLC

It has been a horrible experience dealing with the financial aid. They withheld my federal loan and will not apply it to my account. Making me unable to register for my following classes. I have called multiple times with no resolution. They keep giving me disbursement dates, and the disbursement never happens. I’ve contacted them numerous times and every time I talk to them each and everyone said something different add one associate tell me that a manager would contact me by phone call within 48 hours to find out he documented as they’ll send me an email that no phone call was requested, even though it was requested. It has been a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend anybody enrolling in Walden University after this.Walden University, LLC

Where do I start! This school has completely stressed my entire life out for starters! From the beginning i had issues with credits being applied and they finally decided to fix that however now a new issue! I’m sure the only response I will get is to contact student affairs in which I have done that already with no success! I’m currently enrolled in my capstone course and the instructor since the beginning has been nothing but stress! Graded week one and week two assignments at the end of week two, graded assignments supposedly according to the rubric however if that’s the case, the assignments are aligned with the rubric so I don’t quite understand how I answered the questions that were given and because it’s not what he would have posted apparently I was wrong. He is taking 5-7 points off of each discussion and assignments! Some of the people in this course in which is only four people are graduating! I still have 8 courses to take! I have had a 4.0 since starting and never an issue like this. My problem is I wonder why I would make all “A’s” in other courses by following the prompts that were given to me but miraculously in a course like this just do my worst. It doesn’t make sense to me! I have filed a grievance and also spoke to my advisor with instructions given to work it out with the instructor and that’s not working. I need to find the right person to investigate this! This is wrong! No one will assist me with this and it’s very devastating! As we all see, the school sends out the same response to every review stating contact student affairs! If they cared they would fix these issues! I am going to try and contact another department for help and if that doesn’t work I will find out how to contact the dean’s office. Someone needs to know about this. Instructors shouldn’t be allowed to go off of their perspectives as it relates to assignments. We are given prompts to follow and that’s what should matter. If i have satisfied the question given I did my part.Walden University, LLC

this school is a joke. sloppiness is a fair word to use. My preceptorpship has been cancelled and no one, no one, seems to know anything about why it was cancelled. They keep on transferring me from one department to the other. This is a very sorry schoolWalden University, LLC

Biased and mediocre Walden University that makes waste time and money to students, instead make a good experience that we deserve. As a PhD student woman of 50 years old, proud bilingual, never I felt miserable the way your faculty and staff did almost in the whole career. Why? Because you have absolutely no control of the biased and pompous staff working there. It is too expensive to suffer. Do not waste your skills in this place. SAVE YOUR MONEY! I attended classes online in 2009 for my BS in Child Development. I always logged into my classes early and gave my introduction as soon as they were available. A class I had registered for in June 2009 somehow glitched when I signed in to give my introduction. I reviewed all my assignments and the syllabus then posted my introduction to show that I attended. I had checked into the class numerous times that week and there didn’t seem to be any discussions going on. The following week when I went to log in I was locked out and received a notice that I had dropped the class due to non participation! I tried to reach out to my academic advisor numerous times but only got a voicemail. I worked during the day so I did miss their call because I am unable to answer my phone while in my classroom. Then I received a bill in the mail from them for $1135. I petitioned this claim and brought it to the attention of anyone willing to listen. They denied my petition because Their records show that I didn’t log into the class! Total BS I was a straight A student and I’m sure their records show that as well as shows that I signed into each of my classes on the Sunday before the actual class started!. Because of that I can’t even get a transcript for the classes that I did complete and PAID FOR!
I saved all the communication emails! I WANT MY CLASS CREDITS!Walden University, LLC

I started my doctorate in social work at Walden in 2018. Things were great in the beginning during the course work stage, but once I got to the capstone things were terrible. My initial chair was okay although her accent was hard to understand and she wouldn’t do video calls. She got my to the Proposal stage then left the university. The chair that replaced her was terrible and unhelpful. She changed her mind after every correction. I spent $100k trying to get this degree and never received it. When I decided to withdraw from the program I asked if I could at least get matriculated in the masters program in administration, and was told no although the course work was identical. I rate this school a 0 and wish I went somewhere else!Walden University, LLC

If I could give Walden University zero stars, I would. I cannot explain enough how awful this school it. There is absolutely no teaching, guidance or help. The professors don't even know how to answer your questions because they probably don't even know what their class actually entails. I had to reach out to the director on numerous occasions because I could not get ahold of my professor for weeks. The exams are solely based off the book which is crap, very unorganized and useless. None of their NP practicum rules are straightforward but again, you can't get ahold of anyone about it. They do not care if you're held back a semester, even if it's a result of their mistake/wrong regulations - yes wrong, they told me some kind of crap about why one of my rotations wasn't approved but when I went to the SBON, they said they had no clue what my school is talking about. One professor flunked one of my assignments and when I asked her to explain what I did wrong, (after going to the director because it had been weeks and she hadn't responded yet), she said it was a "grading error" and fixed the grade to be 100%. Then the last assignment of the semester, she nearly flunked me on even though it was about my own study plan and how my skills improved throughout the semester. Truly a HORRIBLE experience and I DO NOT recommend.Walden University, LLC

Had a wonderful experience until I started receiving the hassles of getting credits for courses that i have taken. The acceleration degree employee has no clue of how i can receive my credits and i have sent my training file from my employer and was told today that it would not be acceptable as they are requesting the certificate. I had one employer send a letter head stating that i passed basic training and it says it on my training report however i am being taunted for this. I have had no issues until now. I just hope it can be fixed as i don’t want to spend 5 years in a program when i have almost 8 years of experience in the field. This is stressful. A student since i started and I have been feeling great about my career and work but this is stressful. I just want the credit for what i have completed. Not trying to get over on anyone.Walden University, LLC

Zero stars. I completed my Masters here but have had a totally different experience in their PhD program. Financial aid issues the first three semesters. In week 7 of 11 and still have not got my refund. Multiple calls a week just to be told someone will call me back, but they don't. Financial aid is manned in a call center hired by the university to read a script. Departments I need to talk to do not have phones or email addresses. Even reach out to the office of the president to no avail. Do not attend.
As I see Walden's responce is for us to contact student affairs. That is a pointless exercise as they will give you the same song and dance and not respond after an email or two.Walden University, LLC
