Walden's alleged core values are respect, trust, consideration, honesty, and cooperation. Yet my experience with Walden is the opposite. This past year, my mom got very ill, and, because of this, I received two Cs. According to Walden, receiving one C places you in an academic warning, and then receiving another puts you up for possible dismissal from the program. My advisor informed me that I would need to take two classes, which would be full-time status while working a full-time job to get in the right with Walden. If I received a C part-time two semesters in a row due to taking care of my mom, how would advising me to take two courses in one semester help me? I tried to voice my situation but there was zero consideration. I am very good at following directions, but this university's emails are beyond confusing. I received emails to complete forms, but there was no form attached. When reaching out to the financial department in my own portal with Walden, they had their own financial service number wrong, so I had to search the internet for the number. When you talk to an individual about your situation, the people you talk to cannot see your forms, so you trust that they will get your information correctly. They then transfer that to another member who can see your information and will only email back. Even when I asked for a call back, I never received it. When I asked for a supervisor to call me back within their 24-hour time frame- I never got it. I am a type one diabetic, and the stress that this university created caused my sugar and blood pressure to skyrocket. I had my father-in-law, who is an attorney, get involved. However, my family and I decided I should take a step back and rethink if this is really the University I'd want to hang a certificate in my office with its name on it. I am absolutely looking at switching to a university that will stand by the values that they stand on and one that I will be proud to say I attended.Walden University, LLC

I withdrew from Walden University after enrolling in one class. They subtracted $258 from my credit balance and I'm not use to that. I been in college since 2014 and didn't have that problem. Now that I'm out the school they sent me a email talking bout I owe $1,130 for a class I was registered for. I know for sure I wasn't registered for nothing but 1 class because I had to tell my advisor what class I'll be taking next. He knew I was withdrawing, why would he still register me for a class. Then don't you have to attend the class at least. Then what class do y'all have that's $1,130? They better get it together. The advisor told me he wasn't gon register me because they wanted me to take 2 classes and he gave me time to think about it. I hope thats some type of joke and y'all not trying to mess my credit up.Walden University, LLC

I recently completed my studies at Walden University, and I must say that my overall experience was deeply disappointing. From the lack of practical preparation for the real world to the ineffective support services, this institution fell short in many areas. One of the most glaring issues was the university's failure to equip students with the necessary skills and tools for success in their chosen fields. Despite investing years into my education, I found myself ill-prepared for the demands of the job market. Employers expected proficiency in design tools and skills that were not adequately covered in my coursework. This left me feeling unqualified and uncompetitive in the job search. Additionally, the resume service provided by Walden University was a letdown. Instead of offering valuable guidance and support, I was directed to obtain various certificates through external platforms. This felt like a shortcut and undermined the credibility of the degree I had worked so hard to earn. I expected more from an institution that claims to prioritize student success. Another significant issue was the disregard for personal circumstances and family problems. When I faced a difficult personal situation, the university showed little understanding or assistance. Despite explaining my circumstances, I received no flexibility or accommodation, ultimately resulting in negative consequences for my academic progress. This lack of empathy and willingness to support students in challenging times is concerning. Moreover, the technical difficulties with Walden's website added to my frustration. Seeking help from the IT department proved to be a futile endeavor, as the issues remained unresolved. This not only wasted my time but also forced me to retake a class due to the university's technological shortcomings. It is unacceptable for a reputable institution to have such inadequate technical support. I regret my decision to attend Walden University, what a waste of money.Walden University, LLC

I am hot with the school and financial aid office! They encouraged me to start the NP program in the summer. I applied for financial aid and was told it was approved. Now, here we are about to begin the Fall semester and my financial aid was suspended. I call Walden and am told that I did not meet the amount of credits necessary to qualify for financial aid. They basically took government money because they did get paid. I am now responsible for the loan amount and these shady people lied to me, withheld important information, and stole money from the government. DO NOT APPLY TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!!Walden University, LLC

1 starGood Morning My name is Talitha ** ******* Iam very upset this morning I recieved an email from AMBER ***** stating I could come back to school. Miss Amber ***** needs to be investigated because during the time I recieved the email I was watching the series "The CHI" she sent the email during the part where the young lady was chastizing jacob for trying to get with her man. This is unprofessional and messy because I was already told by Amber ***** and her staff that I could not come back to Walden 2months ago because of a $2000 balance. I never heard from Walden University again. Until that show, Amber I do not want your man, her man, OR Kd man and the reason I know I dont is because I was told someone has full blown Aids. please leave me alone Talitha ** *******Review fromJulie M

I want to report to Walden's Financial Aid office as well. On 6/7/23, they informed me everything was fine and that my aid would disburse as planned on 6/8/23. Then when it didn't disburse, I called. They said your assistance is in two award years, 22/23 and 23/24, and you have to complete an endorser addendum and redo the master promissory note. They informed me of this need on 6/13/23, and I completed it. They still have a hold on my aid even though my portal shows my funds have been disbursed. This organization has a horrible financial aid office telling me multiple different stories. I have filed several complaints and asked to speak to a supervisor, and they say they are still waiting for someone to be available. I know the BBB would disagree with this process. A supervisor should always be available to talk to the customer. When a supervisor calls me, they leave a message with basic information, and if I still need help, I call back. Wait, I contacted you to file a complaint, and you still need a return number for me to call—horrible customer service. I demanded a supervisor call me today, and I want my aid released without delay. I checked with Fed Aid, and they confirmed everything was sent to Walden on 6/14/23, so Walden needs to release my funds ASAP. Julie MartinWalden University, LLC

1 starWalden University financial aid is horrible. I was told multiple stories of my refund and still have not received my refund. I would like to report this school financial aid process. It’s very fishy and the advisor are rude clueless and lazy. I am ready to just report them they have all these excuses but have not received anything.Review fromVishu A

1 starUnsolicited calls, text messages, and emails - Hundreds of them over the last two years. Utterly annoying and relentless. If it happened during earthly hours, I wouldn't be as irritated and beside myself about this real/fake university as I am about now after having spoken to yet another person from the university. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO STOP THEM FROM CONTACTING THEM, LIKE EVER!!!!!?????Review fromTerry C

1 starMy name is Terry C****. After a lot of self-encouragement and praying I enrolled at Walden University at an older age to earn a master's degree. I earned a 3.75 GPA for my classroom studies and started completing my internship in a small town about 37.5 miles away; 65 miles round trip and was accused of unethical behavior by someone at Walden University names Jason Patton and it has been an unbelievable experience ever since. Why would I lie and cheat to Walden University after spending so much money in student loans to go to school. It took me a long time to find an organization to complete my internship and I was very sad and disappointed when I had to stop for no reason, and Walden acts as if they could care less. I made mistakes on my student loan papers because it had been a long time since I'd been school and it was not a problem. I had to go into something called Meditrek to apply, complete application, upload different paper works and lots of other tasks for which I had no training and when I'd reach out to what Walden calls student assistance I got no response at all and when I got a live person on the phone my calls would be disconnected. I also had to make a lot of purchases from Castlebranch to prepare for internship which is also a rip off. Every time I get close to doing my internship Walden will find something wrong and tell oh we changed our minds you need to take 6 months to think about something and in the meantime the Castle Branch packages that I had to purchase are expiring and I have to make purchases all over again. I recently received an email from Dennison P*****, associate director of student affairs, Walden University who made the above statement concerning I need a 6 month waiting period and Walden will let me know if I can enroll again which Walden may not allow me to is what the email said. Walden's mission & vision statement states they work to make a better society which I find to be a total lie.Review fromAshley M

1 starI looked into Walden to get my Bachelors degree. I wasn’t sure how my credits would transfer. So I applied in a field that was somewhat desirable to me. I explained to them on the phone that I just needed to get a bachelors degree in what field it didn’t matter. My job will pay me double what I make now for the degree. So, I really wanted just to take the quickest route I could. They told me I had to apply to get an advisor and send all my transfer credits over. I did just that. Then I have been trying to reach them for well over a month. I have been applying at several schools and one school advised me I only needed 30 more credits to graduate. Walden is telling me I need 101 credits to graduate from a specific degree. I have contacted them repeatedly for the past month to see if there are any programs that would require less credits to graduate with no luck. I recently have been trying to withdraw and I am unable to do that as well. am now I have received a bill when class don’t start for another month and I have no desire to take the courses they have me signed up for. I am at the point now I just want to withdraw and move on. College has always been such a scam to me. This one especially.
