Target is just plain ridiculous in its online hurdles just to make a payment online!
Just make it simple . . . STUPID!!!
If you have a customer wanting to make a payment on their account online, why does Target have to make it so burdensome to do so???

Overcharging for purchases bought online compared to prices in store. Also won't price match their in-store prices. When I called the 1800 number I was told to goto store and purchase item(item is never listed available in store so I never know when its in stock). When trying to speak to someone higher then the person I was talking to I was told no.

Target business practices should be questioned. target.com is price gouging certain items and have a clear discrepancy between store price and online price. Was able to purchase something a week earlier for half the price on their online store and in store and it is now double the price. and when talking to target.com‘s rude customer service people they said that it was due to it being a pricing error, which is an outright lie. Every other retailer is selling it for the original price, but for some reason, target likes the price gouge annd has become a scalper. Unfair business practices by this company are nauseating and should be called out. People should stop shopping at target.com especially. Don’t stand for this treatment!

I have been a customer at Target for around 9 years. My Dyson needed a break cause it was about 11 yrs old so I went to Target and spent about 20 minutes deciding on the right one to get being I have Kiki’s and also I didn’t want to pay to much money.
I guess I’m a little naive, there was this older man stalking me. (Following me around the store while I picked up TP, raisins, paper plates, etc). This man started to make me feel uncomfortable and it was kind of nerving that he even ended up at my checkout. Targets prices don’t always match up with what’s on the floor so I kind of panicked and pulled my phone out to compare prices with Walmart which of course had a better price. I did bring it to the cashiers attention but when I finally figured out who that man was stocking me, I decided I’d just pay their price so I could get out of the store.
That man was their undercover security officer.
I am 59 middle class lady and am shocked much less appalled that they think I may be some kind of thug/thief. The worst thing is, I worked there temporarily for a few weeks but have been struggling with fibromyalgia and couldn’t handle the job like I thought I could.
Treatment like that ruins my shopping experience there for me. I am honestly devastated and want to go in the store to confront them. I am an upstanding person who can just let this go but will consider not returning to that particular store.

Horrible experience with customer service. They end the chat before I can give feedback because they don't care or want to work with you and charge over market prices. First I get told you can't cancel TCG orders, which isn't true and I tried to within 10 mins after placing and they failed to let me. I had an issue with Amazon once with this and they refunded and let me keep the product. I didn't expect that but they went above and beyond. Target doesn't care and is a horrible place. I've also had much better experience with Walmart. One of their customer service reps didn't even ask if they could assist me with anything else and just ended the chat while I was typing. I wasn't being rude or disrespectful as I know it's difficult being working that department. When it comes to Walmart/Amazon/Target Target is ranked #5 as I can't even put them one rank below the other two.

I attempted multiple times to purchase several desirable items on Target’s website, only to find that once items were added to my cart, the site immediately blocked checkout and claimed the items were “out of stock”. Meanwhile, the product pages continued to show the items as available. This behavior feels deceptive and has prevented me from completing a purchase on items I have been wanting for months.
Target’s online store is currently charging extreme scalper prices on products that normally retail for around $50, marking some items up to nearly three times their standard MSRP. For example, the "Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box" is listed at $138.99 on Target’s site. Yet similar ETBs typically carry a $49.99 MSRP, meaning Target is effectively gouging customers by over $89 per box (a 178% increase).
Target’s combination of misleading “in stock” labels, last-moment checkout blocks, and egregious markups on high-demand items not only undermines customer trust but borders on unfair business practice. Shoppers are left frustrated and out of pocket and forced either to abandon their purchases or pay “scalper” prices well above MSRP. Unless Target commits to accurate stock reporting, enforces fair pricing consistent with advertised MSRPs, and compensates those harmed by these policies, people will rightly view the brand as extorting customers over fair treatment and transparency.

My son purchased an HP laptop for $1,295.99 through Target, and the item was delivered to the store on March 20th. He picked it up on March 23rd. Unfortunately, he needed to return the item but missed the return window because he had to go to the ER and was later hospitalized. When we realized the laptop still needed to be returned, we went to the Target store on April 19th, but they said the return window had closed on April 18th.
I checked Target’s website, which states that most items have a 90-day return window. However, since this was a Target Plus item, the store directed me to call Target Guest Services. When I called, they told me I needed to contact HP directly. I then called HP customer service, but they said they couldn’t help because the item was purchased through Target.
I contacted Target again, and this time they gave me another number for a Target specialist, but that number didn’t work. I called Guest Services again, but they still couldn't help me.
In summary: I strongly advise against buying Target Plus items. The return process is extremely frustrating, with both Target and third-party sellers refusing to take responsibility. Also, the way Target advertises a 90-day return policy for “most items” is misleading and confusing for customers.

Scammers. Purchased something recently and it was about 2.6x MSRP. Customer service was unhelpful. They told me to call UPS to cancel the shipment when they are the shipper. I contacted UPS and they said the shipper has to cancel it. They wouldn’t price adjust to the normal price claiming it was set by the vendor, but the vendor has other products on targets website for MSRP. I did my due diligence to make sure it was actually sold by Target and not a 3rd party vendor and it’s indeed coming from Target. Very disappointed in this scammer company as someone who was a loyal customer.

I honestly can’t believe how far Target has fallen. I placed an order, and they doubled the price. I tried to cancel the order immediately — it hasn’t even shipped and is still sitting in their warehouse — but they refused to cancel and also told me the item cannot be returned.
I spoke with three different customer service reps, including a so-called “senior supervisor”, who was not only unhelpful but rude enough to hang up on me after saying, “There’s nothing I can do. Have a nice day.”
When did Target become just another shady reseller? This whole experience feels like a scam — price gouging, zero flexibility, and customer support that clearly doesn’t care. This is not the Target I used to trust.
I’ll be filing complaints and warning others — buyers beware.

As someone who has held a RedCard for over 10 years, I’ve made countless purchases at Target — from everyday essentials to home decor. Target has long been one of the retailers I relied on the most. However, after my experience with Target’s online customer service today, I’ve completely lost confidence in this company.
The customer service I encountered was not only unprofessional but also surprisingly rude. The way I was treated made it clear that customer satisfaction is no longer a priority for Target. I’ve also been a customer of Walmart and Amazon, and by comparison, Target’s service is a complete disappointment.
What frustrates me the most is that after so many years of loyalty and spending, I was met with indifference and poor attitude when I needed help. Good customer service should be the foundation of any reputable company — and this experience made me realize how far Target has fallen in that regard.
Because of this, I will be significantly reducing my spending at Target. I’m extremely disappointed, and I hope the company starts taking feedback like this seriously — before more long-time customers choose to walk away.
