    ******* sold a product that had been free after initial purchase. They have changed their model and are now charging for customers to see pictures of their loved ones on the frame. We use the frame to showcase a deceased loved one and this feels like extortion to have to pay to see all of our pics.

    I have had this frame for years and have used it with 10 GB of storage space and no subscription. Recently the company is going back on their promise of 10 GB of storage space and moving to a subscription based service where the free option is only 0.5 GB of storage and reduced photo size/resolution. They are not allowing options for personal storage on a hard drive, only on their cloud service through their subscription. They are not honoring their prior guarantees with their customs and are forcing all customers, old and new, into using their subscription service because the free plan makes the frame unusable.

    We do regret having to update our terms of service due to unsustainable storage and bandwidth costs. We do pay to be on their servers,substantially. It is not free.  

    Nearly everyone in the storage and bandwidth industry have been forced to do the same, such as ****** Photos, Amazon Photos, ***** and ********* Who all now either charge a monthly fee or in ********* case will now delete videos after 30 days. All Digital Photo frames will be adopting this subscription model in the future. 

    We do have to pay substantially for bandwidth.  Piping the videos and photos between mobile to server to frame and to shared playlists etc. It has not gotten cheaper unfortunately.

    We do still offer unlimited cloud storage, but we never advertised it would be unlimited for free for a lifetime.   

    Our TOS specifically states the following:  The prices, details and availability of features provided by this Service are subject to change without notice.

    Thanks for your response; however, I think you are ignoring the bigger issue that my complaint is raising. You gave customers no options for local storage or our own personal cloud storage for photos as the way to 'pipe' the photos to the frame, only the options of buying into your cloud storage or use the frame at a severely hindered/unusable state without it. You have turned an item (that is somewhat pricy) that people could buy and use forever into a pricy frame that requires additional payments every year. This is not something that customers agreed to or was ever advertised by the company. You are not giving pervious customers any real and ****** option other than 'opting in,' which is not something that was advertised or agreed to when we bought the frames. Additionally, it's an overreach for you to say all digital photo frames "will" be adopting this model. Unless you know the details of every single digital photo frame company out there, you cannot make that claim.

    I am the owner of 4 Nixplay frames. Unfortunately, they will soon become more electronic waste! I specifically bought these frames so I could send them to my relatives and easily upload an UNLIMITTED amount of photos to be shared with them. I spent $100's of dollars on these frames and also recommended them to many of my friends. As of April 21, 2025 they are re-negging on the terms that originally came with the frames - Unlimited Storage! How can you do that? Obviously there are 1000's of people that feel the exact same way. The only thing we can do now is wait for the class action lawsuit email that I am anticipating will show up soon. My only guess is ******* is planning for this and will look for bankruptcy protection.

    Bait and switch!!! This company is retroactively coming after old customers who now own the frame and forcing them to buy a subscription service to continue using as they have been. They also left an option of external personal hard drive out of the design forcing you to use their cloud storage. Bad business.

    ******* has informed me that the promised "free unlimited photo storage" feature of their (expensive) products is now being disabled unless I pay for a subscription. If I don't pay for the subscription then the photo frames are essentially useless. Call this extortion or "bait and switch" as you prefer. In response to my suggestion that they at least grandfather existing users into a reasonable free storage plan, I received only a generic reply that says they have a right to change their terms of service -- In other words, **** you. I'm embarrassed that I recommended this company to friends and I obviously won't do that in the future.

    I am extremely upset about the new annual fee added to use the frame. I picked this frame for the storage. It had plenty. Im at 2 gigs. Now 1.5 gigs of my photos wont show up. Ive been using this frame for years! Its a scam. I want my frame refunded since this isnt what I purchased or to keep my original free plan. Also, Nixplay isnt responding to emails.

    Purchased two of these frames for my family (hundreds of dollars btw) with their boxes and advertising saying unlimited photos and only pay for videos longer than 15 seconds. They have now changed everything and you have to pay monthly FOR life to even use these products. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

    I paid almost $500 for several digital picture frames that advertised free unlimited storage. The unlimited storage has now been switched off, essentially bricking my digital picture frames. They are being held hostage unless I start paying a ****** subscription fee. Bait and switch. Unethical business practices.

    Do NOT buy their digital picture frames!As others have said, this company is scamming everyone who already purchased frames by saying they have unlimited storage and now being told we have to pay an annual fee of $24 or else the storage gets limited to 500MB (0.5GB). What a bait-and-switch scam!

    I purchased 5 Nixplay Digital Photo Frames for myself an relatives based on their advertising that it included free unlimited photo storage and ****** Photos integration with no additional fees. This was a key selling point for me and many others who bought their frames believing these features were part of the product.However, as of March 2025, ******* has unilaterally changed their service, now requiring customers to pay a subscription ($20+/year) to retain features that were originally included. These features were advertised as part of the product at the time of purchase, yet they have now been locked behind a paywall.This is a classic bait-and-switch tacticcustomers purchased a product under one set of terms, only for Nixplay to change them after the fact. Imagine buying a TV and later being told you have to pay a yearly fee just to use the **** ports!When I contacted Nixplays customer support, they provided vague, dismissive responses, claiming the change was to enhance services. This does nothing to address the fact that existing customers are being forced to pay for features they already had.This is deceptive, unethical, and unacceptable. Companies should not be allowed to retroactively strip away features that were part of a product purchase and then demand additional payments to regain them.I strongly urge potential buyers to avoid Nixplay until they honor the terms they originally sold their products under. Customers should not have to pay to access features they were already promised.If you feel misled by Nixplays recent changes, consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or the ************************ (***).

    This was their same canned response ******* sends to all complaints submitted to their support email. I have already replied with the following:Dear Nixplay Support,I am disappointed that my previous messages have only been met with generic responses that fail to address my specific request. I am not asking for an explanation of your new pricing structureI am requesting a direct resolution regarding the fact that Nixplay is retroactively altering the functionality of products I purchased under different ******** be clear: When I purchased my Nixplay frames, they were advertised with a functional free-tier experience that allowed me to upload, store and share photos without requiring an additional subscription. Your recent policy change effectively removes that functionality unless I now agree to pay a subscription, which is a fundamental change to the value of the product after purchase. This is bait-and-switch, and your reference to generic Terms of Service updates does not absolve Nixplay from the obligation to deliver what was originally promised.I am requesting one of the following resolutions:1. A full refund for my purchased frames, as they no longer function as advertised at the time of sale.2. A grandfathered exception that allows previously purchased frames to continue operating under the original terms without requiring a new subscription.I expect a clear and direct response addressing the specific resolution options abovenot another copy-pasted reply linking to your plan comparison page. Please confirm how you intend to resolve this issue.****
