I don't even want to leave a one star!!! I recommend not using them under any circumstances. They installed a new boiler in my 4 plex in Cathedral Hill in Dec 2023 to the tune of 18,000. I live in my building. They sent the "yabbo" team to deal with me. The initial representative explaining things to me was wonderful as was the "closer" the next day. The rest of that experience was an absolute cluster*****. They ruined my ceilings, my 100 wood floors which were in immaculate condiition and can you you even believe this? They failed to turn the onswitch on to give heat to my building. Obviously the next day I called as my 3 other tenants were freezing as was I and their response was..."we can book an appointment next week" OMG Praise the lord I went ballastic on them. They came out right away and the "yabbo" representative accused me of turning off the boiler. I bet he was like 25 maybe? I assured him I did not not anything I touched and there was never any follow up from McQuillan. Further they do not file the appropriate permit for my new boiler and I had to pay my private plumber Corey ******* *** * **** **** ******* **** ****** ** ***** ** ******* *** ** **** ***** **** *** ** *** ******* ************ ** **** ** ** *********** * ********* ******* ******** *** ***** ** ** ******* ******** *** **** * ********* **** ** ***** ****** ******* ** ** ******** ********** ** ***** ****** *** * ****** **** **** **** ** ******** *** *** **** ***** ******* ******** ** * ****** * ***** **** *** *** ***** ** ** *** **** ****** *** *** * *** ** ** ******** *** ** *** ******** **********McQuillan Home Services, LLC

2 starsHad a shower faucet replaced - cost $2267.88. Seems like a really high cost and we DID NOT get a senior citizen discount rate.
It was fixed in a very timely manner and we really appreciated that.

I contacted McQuillan Home Services to replace a fluorescent light fixture above the kitchen counter. The fixture itself retails for about $35, and I’ve had one replaced in the past for about $150, so I was expecting a charge of perhaps $250 or so this time. When the technician arrived I was surprised to learn that it had to be replaced with an LED fixture and a new LED bulb. I was advised also that it would not match the other fluorescent light above the counter and so that one should be replaced also. I was presented with a service quote of $941 for replacing both. The explanation was technical and confusing; I was given to understand that there was no option, so I signed it. Only afterwards did I learn that simply replacing the fluorescent fixture was indeed an option and that the technician had access to that fixture.
Afterwards I contacted the McQuillan’s Electrical Services Manager to inquire about why the fluorescence fixture wasn’t offered and why the excessive charge. He replied simply that I had authorized the work on the service agreement. I described why I signed it and why I am dissatisfied, and I requested that he adjust the charge to reflect the work I had originally asked for. That request was eventually was denied.
I understand the business practice of “selling up” once inside the home, but this entire process felt dishonest and predatory. We were confused and intimidated, and the technician was dishonest with us. I have learned since that a typical charge for the service I had requested is about $200. I was charged almost $1,000 for something I didn't need, didn't want and don't even like, and I was dismissed when I objected simply because I signed the agreement.McQuillan Home Services, LLC

Mr. ******* We presented you with 3 options for service. Options were to charge the dispatch fee of $69 and leave without providing service, an option to retro fit the fixture to LED or to install/replace a customer supplied flat panel LED light and demo the old lights. You chose the latter option and signed our estimate for service ******** wrote a great review of your service dated 02/26/25. We thank you. All feedback is appreciated and reviewed in our ********** mentioned during our email correspondence that we neglected to apply a senior discount to your invoice, for this we issued a refund of $47.05 on 03/10/25. A check will be mailed to you on 03/25/25 with our next check run.Review fromSteve G

1 starWoke up to a cold house on Friday morning November 23rd. I checked all the obvious things with my furnace decided I needed a service call so I called McQuillan Brothers they sent out two technicians one was in training the person in training was looking in my furnace I hurt him mention something to the other guy about a low fire pressure sensor. The other technician stepped in was looking in the furnace and then got a camera out 2 minutes later he said oh bad news your heat exchangers cracked .furnaces is only 13 years old no other option but to replace it to the tune of almost $8,000 McQuillan tagged my furnace and shut the gas off no heat for the weekend. I called White Bear Heating and Cooling on Saturday for a second opinion they are an authorized Amana dealer he said if the heat exchanger is cracked it may be covered under a lifetime warranty I would have to pay for labor not the part. So they came out on Monday morning ran a bunch of tests and he looked at the heat exchanger with his own camera and said he saw nothing defective with it he replaced the low fire pressure sensor for $280 and my furnace is working fine. Companies like to scare you with this heat exchanger and carbon monoxide issues have CO2 detectors on every floor in my house. Moral of the story always try to get a second opinion be ready in the winter buy some space heaters just to have around just in case it's Five Below and somebody wants to replace your furnace give yourself some time for a second opinionReview fromChristine M

Echoing the other person that this company is UNETHICAL and DISHONEST. I had a tech come out for an AC tune up. He told me that not only did I need a new AC system for $9,000 but that my boiler had a gas leak that needed to be repaired for $2,000. I knew immediately that this was a scam and asked him to leave. I called the gas company who came out immediately and confirmed there was NOT a gas leak and I had another honest, reputable company come out and look at the AC who confirmed that my AC system was in fine working order.

I made an appointment with this company today 9/19/2024. A guy named Lucas came over on time. The purpose of the appointment was for McQuillan to give me an estimate for changing my 50-gallon gas water heater. I asked them to quote me the price for the cheapest water heater which I had seen sold in Menards for $ 500 and in Home Depot for $ 600. The guy came over, charged me $ 69.00 for his visit and his estimate for changing the water heater was$ 13,999 which I found outrageous and asked him to leave the house.McQuillan Home Services, LLC

1 starThey are not an honest or ethical company. Sadly, they overcharged me $4K for a small leak in my pipe.
They started by charging $1100 to find the leak. They put 3 unnecessary holes in my wall and could only point it out from several feet away. Then, they said its a level 3 leak and very complex requiring 4 hours of work with 2 guys for $2800. The next day 2 guys showed up and joked how easy a job it was and it took them 30 minutes to complete the job. Part of the $2800 was $570 for 2 elbows and a 1 foot section of pipe.
They will use their iPad to hide the itemizations and upcharge you everywhere possible. Be aware of them manipulating and over charging you.Review fromDiane F

1 starBe aware of over pricing. They do not tell you what an item will cost. The plumber has a iPad and shows you the price without itemizing. It was over 3,000 dollars to buy and have two toilets and a kitchen faucet installed. I asked for quotes not using the most expensive, but the reasonable priced items. I felt like they are taking advantage of gullible people. I did not hire them as it was overpriced. I then used another company and had my needs met for way less. I am completely satisfied with the work and price I paid using the other company.Review fromBen B

5 starsMy electricity goes out multiple times a year whenever there is a storm. McQuillans installed a backup generator for me. Been 3 months since it was installed and it kicked on last night when the power went out. Saved all the food in the ice chest because the power wasn't back on for a day.Review fromMatt J
