      Dobbs Tire & Auto Center : **** ****** ***** ******* ** ***** Amount paid to business: $1,827.49
The business did not try and resolve the issue.

Dobbs provided work done to my vehicle, leading to a front caliber to failure and leak brake fluid over my aftermarket wheel. The brake fluid ate away at the paint and clear coat on my wheel. Dobbs offered to cover the labor for installing a new front passenger Brembo caliper if I paid for it. I was quoted $800.00 for a new Brembo caliper, but declined as this was not my doing, and they are at fault for ruining a set of wheels so it is on them. Dobbs Tire & Auto Center replaced the caliper with a refurbished/remanufactured instead of a brand new one, per the quote I was given and a verbal agreement in lieu of my damaged wheel.

      To Whom It May Concern:

      On
07/29/2022 Ms ***** brought her 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 in for a check
alignment and vibration while braking. Her rotors were warped and her vehicle
was out of alignment. To make adjustments on this vehicle you sometimes have to
replace the upper control are with camber/caster adjustments. In this case we
did. Ms ***** agreed upon the price and brought it back the next day to give
time fore the parts to arrive on site. On 07/30/2022 her car was finished and
she picked it up and complained to the RSM that the price was to high so he
took the $119.99 alignment off the ticket. The next day Ms ***** called and
stated that her RF caliper was leaking so I called the dealership and put one
on order and was told by them the caliper would arrive the next day. On 08/01/2022
I called the dealership and they said it had not arrived yet. When I called Ms
***** and told her it was going to be one more day she stated that "that
was unacceptable and I needed to get her car fixed that day, no matter
what." I called around and found a refurbished Brembo caliper in red which
is what we took off the RF wheel. I called Ms ***** to come pick up her vehicle
and it wouldn't cost her and more even though it was a failure in her
caliper.  This ended my involvement in this matter

I am rejecting this response because:

As stated on page 2 of the invoice, Dobbs Tire & Center located on ****** ***** ******* **, "cleaned and lubed caliper slides" and "inspected brakes lines, hoses, and fluid" therefore being the last ones to touch my brakes, brake system, or calipers. I was updated throughout the entire process, up until a refurbished/remanufactured caliper was in question. I was unaware of my original caliper being refurbished/remanufactured nor was that brought to my attention until I called the next day asking why I was quoted $800.00 for a new Brembo caliper if they went ahead and replaced it on their dime with a much cheaper remanufactured part. Their response fails to touch base on my nonnegotiable requests of how they plan on taking care of ruining my set of aftermarket wheels.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *****

      To whom it may concern;

We have already went above and beyond to help Mrs. ***** out.  Nothing we did or could have done to cause that r/f caliper to
leak.  It is a hydraulic issue.  We originally had a Brembo caliper
ordered from the dealer and was a day out and that wasn’t good enough for Mrs.
Bauer.  So we were able to find a remanufactured Brembo caliper in which
she already had on the r/f of her vehicle.  Mrs. ***** informed us to do
what we could do to fix her vehicle and get it back to her.  So we
installed the caliper at no charge part and labor as a customer satisfaction to
get her vehicle back to her.  We decline and are not liable for any
further replacement of parts or wheels for Mrs. ***** at no charge.  The
wheels on Mrs. Bauer’s vehicle were severally nicked up and what looked like
excessive curb damage prior to us working on the vehicle.  We handled the
unfortunate situation and got Mrs. ***** her vehicle back in a timely manner
and at no charge to her.

I am rejecting this response because:
This is a poor excuse as a company. As a customer, one shouldn’t have to bring their car back to a business to be serviced a total of 8 times in order to complete a job that should take one day. I never once stated I was satisfied with the work done for the sole purpose of having to bring it back because things were not completed correctly the first time. As a company, Dobbs is 100% liable for my caliper failing as they were the last ones to physically remove it from the rotor before putting a new rotor on. As a customer, I’m not replacing something that worked prior to bringing to Dobbs. So yes, you broke it and you replaced it. Again, this fails to state how you plan to compensate me for ruining a set of wheels as a caliper failed less than 24 hours after being worked on by Dobbs.
