Swappa! I have been scammed! This "seller" has hacked my husband's email account which I used for paying via Paypal. He provided a shipping label to Paypal with a tracking number of a package that had already been delivered to our address earlier this week. We just spoke to Paypal and they are aware of this scam. This is the SECOND TIME within a week that we've been scammed on your website. My husband purchased a laptop from another seller on your site who created a shipping label and never sent the item. Instead of punishing the crook that scammed us, you restricted my husband's account from making further purchases, which is the reason why I had to buy it. "Swappa has fantastic support and we're quick to answer questions!" Are you serious? You are protecting the criminals and punishing the victims? Your business should be restricted, just like you restricted my husband's account. I have already filed a complaint against you with Paypal and reported this criminal to law enforcement.

Swappa has sellers that are making misleading listings, shipping unusable phones to buyers, when you go to get a refund the buyer is allowed to charge you (the consumer that just got ripped off) all the charges plus a 15% restock fee kickback of profit for the whole thing.
Use ****, anything else, Swappa condones it so they can make profit. They literally don't respect their costumers.

I have been with swappa for years. Have bought a few phones, some with issue and some without. Frustrating when issues arise, but they were resolved. Currently though- it is no longer a site for "people" to sell their phones. You used to be able to get various packages- ie cords, instructions, cases included, depending on what the seller was offering. Now, its a bunch of companies collecting, refurbishing and selling for profit, very few individuals left. So buyer beware.

The phone I purchased was as described and arrived sooner than expected. All around good experience with great communication foil both the seller and Swappa administrative.

The only place to buy or sell quality used mobile devices. Swappa does all of the vetting of buyers, sellers and devices. You can be assured of a smooth transaction and getting exactly what you pay for. From the seller perspective, you get access to serious buyers and payment is fast and secure. In the 10+ years and many devices I've bought and sold, Swappa has always been top notch!

I've used Swappa several times over the years to buy and sell Android phones. I just had another positive experience with a sale. Swappa is an all-round better experience than ***** ******* *********** ******** ***********, etc. I've never had a problem, and I've always had good experiences dealing with the site.

This is my 3rd phone bought, and each one has been excellent. The staff is alert, responds to my questions, and helps with sales! I have also sold a few phones on this site, and I think they are fairer than eBay! Mostly!

As a long-time Swappa user, I have valued the platform for its secure transactions. However, my recent experience with the moderation team raised serious concerns about fairness and bias against buyers.
I asked a factual, respectful question about a seller’s shipping timeline, using the term “last minute” to describe the end of Swappa’s two-business-day shipping window. The term was accurate and policy-based. Despite this, the moderation team called it “uncalled for,” based solely on the seller’s reaction—not any actual violation of Swappa rules.
When I explained my intent and referred to Swappa’s published policy, I was told to stop discussing it. I did not use profanity, personal attacks, or inappropriate language. My comment was neutral and policy-aware, yet I was penalized based on how it was emotionally interpreted.
This reflects a deeper issue: Swappa’s moderation appears more concerned with protecting sellers from discomfort than enforcing rules evenly. Buyers are expected to follow policy strictly and also anticipate how their neutral language might be perceived. Meanwhile, sellers face little scrutiny when reporting valid concerns as offensive, even when no rules are broken.
Swappa needs to recognize a basic truth—buyers fund the platform. Every transaction generates revenue because buyers are willing to spend their money here. Without buyer trust, the marketplace cannot function. Undermining legitimate buyer concerns in favor of shielding sellers is both shortsighted and unfair.
Moderation should be based on clear policy, not emotional interpretation. If Swappa wants to maintain credibility, it must treat buyers and sellers equally. My experience proves that is not currently the case. Transparency, consistency, and equal accountability should apply to everyone on the platform—without exception.

This company seems to not be as good as it once was...
I recently wanted to sell my and my wife's phones as we got a good deal while switching on new phones. I did a lot of research to try to find the best company to sell with. Swappa was a recommendation in many of the articles I read as well as from a few friends.
I made an account and began working through the process of taking pictures and filling in info for the listing for both phones in mint condition. No sooner than I submit for review than I find it's denied for the verification photo on one phone and the IMEI on the other. I write the listing number larger, take more photos, and correct the IMEI number on the phone I had made a mistake on (the phone I was selling was an insurance replacement and I had put in the number from the box in the first phone). Again with the denial for the listing.
They then make me take pictures with the IMEI on the phone screen and the listing number. I do this and submit it via their special portal. I go to bed expecting the issues to be resolved and my listings to be active the next morning.
Instead, I wake up to find my account inactive with directions to "check my email to finish the registration process." There is nothing in my email.
I send 3 separate notes to the help to try to understand what I need to do and get nothing back.
All I have from the company is a lot of confusion, 5 hours of my life wasted and the customer service team ghosting me.
I hope this review can serve to either help other prospective customers, help swappa grow and change, or perhaps they will actually get back to me eventually and help me understand if there was something I had done wrong that I don't know.

This user created an account on Swappa and listed a Samsung Galaxy S23 and a Galaxy S23 Ultra for sale. The account was flagged by our automated systems (and our moderation team) and suspended due to possible connections to other previously banned accounts. This decision was not made lightly or without careful consideration. We understand this is frustrating, and if you wish to appeal this decision, you can do so here: ******************************
