Energy is a predatory company. We have to have electricity in American to have a family and children. You have to have hot water and lights. They have not updated poles and lines in years and every time the wind blows my power is out for 2 hours. Why are WiFi lines so important they are put underground and my WiFi is flawless but the company that supplies the power is stone aged lines on poles that have tremendous error all the time. It my bills reflect that they increase prices “for winter rates” and they have special rates for summer but the INCREASE EVERY calendar year and the rates from last summer are lower than this summer and increase continuously. Service doesn’t get better and prices keep going up for no reason other than to gain profit from a resource you have to have to live. It’s sick and depressing. I feel that services that are nessasary for survival should not be poached out to private companies that care about profits more that its customers. Utility services are monopolistic in today’s society and the quality of failing. What are the people supposed to do about it. Utility services should do better.

1st off, worst company i have EVER dealt with. Any other electric company, please, get into wichita ks, i would pay triple the rates just to stop paying evergy.
Power goes out, every year. Hours, sometimes, days without power. Our food, almost trash. Simply due to evergy ignoring several entire blocks without power. 6 hours and they still have noone actually working on our power, it is "awaiting assignment".
Over 6 hours, and nothing. Phk evergy.

I am completely up on my bill. My bill that was just due on 5/1 was 59 dollars. A few days later I get a big bill of almost 400 dollars saying it’s due 5/30 and that I need to pay almost 200 something to not have it disconnected! What? And not only that I had a credit balance of 175 dollars. I have all of my screenshots. But this to me is a complete scam because how??? I need them to fix this asap. Because something like this I will take to court.

Do not open an account with Evergy if you are a homeowner and do not live at the address. They will only send a bill to the address that service is at and will not call to let you know there is a bill with a balance. They just send the bill to collections without even a phone call to destroy your credit.

Angie assisted me with a complex situation. She had amazing customer service; never lost her patience and helped me alleviate some of the stress during these hard times. If all customer service representatives were like Evergys the world would function better.
      Again, Thank You.

Absolutely HATE Evergy! What a dishonest, greedy bunch of crooks. Own a house that renters live in off-and-on but I keep the electric in my name. The house was empty for a long while. Found a gas leak months into it being empty so decided to go ahead and have the electric disconnected since I didn't know when the leak would be, or even if it would be feasible, to fix. 6 months later some friends are going to stay in the house for awhile so got the leak fixed and called Evergy to have the electric turned back on.
Just got the first bill and the reconnect fee was an astronomical $85.50. Customer service rep told me it's a "same-party" fee they charge using the base rate x the number of months it was off. What a bunch of XXXXXXX!!!!
I SO wish Evergy wasn't a monopoly in my area. I think there needs to be competition among utilities so they can't price gouge and rip off customers who are helpless since they have no other choices.

So Evergy considers November 29th to be a holiday. Even though I submitted a request for service and to get it started a week earlier. Also CPAP or OXYGEN EQUIPMENT is not considered an emergency situation so we are left without electricity until Monday. Wow!

All looking for is an ‘I’m sorry’ & POSSIBLY change in business practices-it is biased against elderly, handicapped, illiterate & poor.

When elderly are not tech savvy, when poor, elderly, handicapped and illiterate may not have a cell phone or internet to use to resolve a power disconnect, it is an unfair business practice.

When service is disconnected because an elderly person doesn’t realize Evergy changed payment due dates that they have had for over 30 years so they continue to use their old due date not realizing it changed, they simply subtract prior month payment from new bill thinking it crossed in mail, then Evergy disconnects their power - even tho Evergy received payment in amount of $337 (monthly bill paying that much every single month), but because that customer made a math error of around $22 short, Evergy disconnects them. Never bill for $22 shortage so elderly customer can understand, be alerted they didn’t pay enough. Evergy sends a text message Saturday saying power out due to wildlife issue. The elderly calls on a Sunday as their power is still out and elderly is told it is out due to non payment. The Evergy person on a Sunday can’t take payment or tell you if payment of $337 received for September. Directs you to a website which elderly do not generally use websites. So elderlies SIL has cell phone with internet to go on website and it shows NO past due, it shows current due and a future due date of 10/9 and it’s 10/6 today, shows two different ‘current balances’ not reflecting the other ‘current balance’ is with late fee, but it shows no disconnected notice, no past due amounts, all looks current and current due. So the elderly pays future balance due power comes on. Evergy cancelled power for $22 from a 30 plus years customer, always pays these high bills, pays late fees due to date due changes they didn’t realize, never complains, and WEBSITE is flawed as they look current on bill. Due date 9th, turned off on 4th - not 30 days even.

I transferred services, and some how they didn’t receive the stop service and now I’m responsible for billing at my old address. Then when calling they are super rude and said sorry you’re not smart enough to select the right option to stop service. Do better

I have been given the run around by Evergy for over two months when it comes to getting a tree branch removed that is within 5ft of a line that is going poll to poll in my backyard. I am trying to have the tree removed from my yard and every tree company I have spoken too has said that Evergy needs to remove this branch over the line before they can do anything else. The first report that was given back in July was brushed off by a "crew member" as a "non-threat". I only discovered this because I called 3 weeks later for an update and found out that they put this in the file and no one was going to call to update me on this. This led my to file my next request, reclarifying that I am having the tree removed and it again, as said my the tree companies and evergy's website, they are responsible for removing. This request went another 3 weeks without any update. I was unable to obtain of any supervisor or manager for any department in evergy and was told that "all the information is internal" so she was unable to give me any information. This is a company that I have always paid bills on time and in this situation is lying and being decieving in their practices.
