1 starWe reserved a car in Spain months in advance. We had the
confirmation e-mails. We received no communication at all other than the
confirmation e-mail. However, when we arrived there was no car for us
and National Car Rental had cancelled the reservation on the back-end
(again: without any sort of notification). We were completely stranded
and completely lucked out because ONE car company had ONE car available.
Otherwise, we would have had to wait 10 hours for a train. We also had
to pay way more for the same-day rental at this other company.Review fromLatoya J

1 starThis is the worst airport car rental pace ever. Do. Do not rent from here. I recently reserved a car as I always do, then suddenly I get advised I have to pay a 300 dollar deposit. I've rented from national at Jacksonville Airport many times and don't have to pay a deposit on the emerald aisle. The workers for not helpfulat all. Very rude especially the female worker. I will never stoop this low again and rent from them.Review fromChaim C

1 starI am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the unacceptable behavior of one of your manager. During a recent rental experience, I was treated very nastily by the manager at your facility, and I feel that it is important to bring this to your attention. On Monday May 8 , I visited your rental facility located at *********************** ARPT(***). When I arrived, I was met by the manager who proceeded to speak to me in a rude and dismissive manner. Despite my attempts to explain my rental needs, the manager was hostile and uncooperative, and I was made to feel very uncomfortable and disrespected. So what happened, I was in the car by exit, when the worker at the booth told me something is up with my reservation he needs to call the manager He asked me kindly to back out so other cars can pass, so I did, then the manager came yelling at me, Get out of the car now !!!! So I asked him kindly can I know the reason,? But he refused talking to me and said again, Get out of the car now !!!! You cant rent by ** and you cant rent by enterprise and *****, I stepped out of the car asking him again if I can have a explanation but he refused again walking away,I am extremely disappointed by the way that I was treated by this manager, and I believe that this behavior is completely unacceptable. As a customer of ********************** Car Rental, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism, and I feel that this was not the case during my recent experience.Review fromHafiz B

1 starThey sent me a notice of citation on 24th of April, I responded and requested more information. their responses were delayed and then they finally got back to me asking to contact ******** citation department which I tried but nobody bothered answering the phone number I was given. I have been trying for last 2 weeks straight everyday but not even once they bothered to answer a phone call. A person reached out to me on May 8th via email asking to make a payment to their site, via interac or issue them a cheque because payment has not been made yet.I checked with my bank who informed me that payment was already taken from my card on 28th of April, TWICE!!! yes, they took that amount twice on 28th of April and yet asking to make another payment. Is this a fraud, incompetence or a typical laziness on their part to not to go and actually investigate and resolve the issue.what could have been resolved by effective communication is now a total mess and they are still not answering phone calls made to the number provided Ridiculous!!!I am definitely taking this matter to my organization and suggesting them to remove National and Enterprise from our list of approved vendors!!!Review fromNakia J

1 starRented a car from the Piedmont Triad International Airport location in **********, **. I had the rental from Mar 29- April 17 2023. There was a problem with the car that I tried to resolve 2x before I left for my trip but was unsuccessful. When I returned I went in to speak with someone at the counter to resolve my issue but in doing so I forgot to get my hat out of the back window. I called for over 24 hours and could never reach a person. The next day I went to the airport to speak with someone. I was informed that they do not have phones at the counter. They why does the automated phone advised you to press this option to speak with someone at the location or lost and found if that is not truly an option? My hat was brand new with tags on it. No one seemed to know what happened to my hat. the car needed an oil change so I do not think it went back out the same day. My info was taken and I was told someone would contact me. Even customer service at the toll free number said this would be referred to a regional manager. How does a brand new wide brimmed beach hat in black just goes missing and no one knows or seen anything.......It has now been a week and my hat has not been found.I received an email that they are still looking. It is safe to imply that it was stolen by someone who works there. No one offered to compensate me or say anything to resolve this matter. The customer service and follow through is horribleReview fromMichael S

1 starI rented a car from the National Rental car Tampa location Mar 27th . Incident number- ********. My vehicle was towed and transfered back to the Tampa location. Recieved a call from an employee there about retunring my matieirals and was told they would call me back. I never recieved a call back and have been calling Emerald Service Desk for over a month now trying to get my stuff back. Everytime the customer service rep says they would make a note for the location to call me. I still have not recieved a call back to resolve this matter. I have called the emerald and escalation desk a total of at least 10 times and still hvae not gotten this resolved.Review fromRaymond B

1 starI set an appointment online to retrieve my lost and found item on 4/6/23 at theHartsfield ******* airport location. I drove 1.5 hours and arrived at 4:00 pm and the agent at the kiosk is telling me that everyone with access to the lost and found gone for the day. They left at 3 pm. I am highly upset. Completely ridiculously and unprofessional. This is just not acceptable for company operating at the busiest Airport in the world.Missed part of my work day and still do not have my work cell phone and I have very important calls to make to my contractors.Review fromHau P

1 starI have been a member for 20 years and have used National Car Rental for the fast, convenient, and good quality of service. The last rental experience was the most terrible experience in the last 20 years at the ***********, ** airport location. In fact, the issue is still not resolved after a week of calling and leaving voicemails to the branch location and talking to representatives at corporate. The issue is that they did not properly closed out my return and assume I have still have the car and charged me an extra day. In additional they charged for an upgrade but I got the vehicle from the Aisle. I have called the branch location 18 times and no one have picked up nor return my calls as I left multiple messages. Also the rate of what they charged is way higher than what was originally quoted. If I want this service, I would have rented from a 3rd rated company. I plan to dispute the charges with my credit card company since there has been no progress after 4 weeks. The 6 representatives I have talked to from the corporate call centers have said they escalated the issue but they cannot resolve the issues without the branch. They have escalated 6 times to the branch with no progress. They stated the local manager called me but I have no evidence of the call. Worst service from the ***********, ** airport location.Review fromRobert M

1 starOMG, $264.11 for damage on a window switch that stopped working.I was In **** for a funeral, rented a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica for 11 days. It smelled like the interior had been washed down with an old, dirty, soured mop. It was so bad we had to keep a window partially open to allow fresh air in (late October in ****, rainy and cold). After approximately five days, the drivers side window was stuck in the down position, the switch just stopped working. I was instructed by National C.S. To take it to the closest Car rental (Enterprise), and they would swap it out. After what seemed to be an hour I finally left with an old, beater ******* a small car. This car had a tire leak that had to be attended to daily. Now, finally back in ******** and I get an invoice from National for $264.11 (after a sizable discount) for the damage I had done to their car. That alone was sufficient for me to never do business with them again however, upon a detailed examination of the bill, they charged $136 for an OeM part that I easily found much cheaper. They also charged $30 for 5 minutes of labor, another $70 for other-additional cost, and a fu##ing $50 Admin fee!WHAT A SCAM!! How underhanded and arrogant can a company be?
