This companys food has made my family sick on more than one occasion. My child has missed time at school and my husband and I have missed time at work due to the food. To be specific, the food causes food poisoning symptoms that take two days to resolve. Other symptoms include fever, chills and extreme fatigue.Initial Complaint

My husband and I recently purchased a large amount of meant from your company at an event in ****************. The event was hosted by the local radio station ****. We have tried 2 different meats at this point. The first was too tough to eat and the second made ** ill. We spent around $500 and are beyond disappointed by the product. We went to the truck where they sell their boxes a few weeks ago. It was $206 and not at all worth it. We made the strips tonight and it was the toughest strip I've ever had. The meat is also very gristly and fatty. It's supposed to premium and natural and there is no way that's true. They shouldn't be able to lie like that.Initial Complaint

I purchased over $200 worth of meat from Essential Foods Direct this afternoon. Upon unpacking my purchase at home I found it was not the amount of meat I was told I was purchasing. When opening the packaging I found the meat to be discolored and have a foul smell to it. I called the number you have listed for the company but there was no answer I left a message but am doubtful I will get a call back. I saw an add for this vendor on Instagram. There was a promotion stating that it was 50% off if we showed the add. I worked with the guy at the truck to decide what I want. I gave him my card and he ran it but never showed me the card reader and didnt have me sign. I checked my receipt later on and saw I was charged full price and not 50%. On top of that when I went home I weighed out the products and they didnt weigh what they were supposed to. The steaks in the photo are supposed to be 5oz each yet they ALL weighed less than 4 and that is with the packaging on it still! I weighed these with a calibrated good scale. So I ended up paying twice as much as I saw supposed to along with getting less product than I was supposed to. Ultimately I would either like a full refund or at least get a refund for adjust for the 50% discount I was supposed to receive.Initial Complaint

This company is outright misrepresenting themselves and their product. Their meat is filled with brine solution and who knows what. Their "Fillet Mignons". Are sirloin steaks cut to look like Fillet minions There is no marbling is nothing but hard unable fat.The meat taste and has the consistency of refrozen meat. In a world where food has double the prices this company is taking advantage of people with road shows because they know that they'll never see the light of day with these people. I encourage everyone reading these reviews to check in with your Credit card providers and see if you qualify for a refund based on the outright fraud this company is doing.
The more people report this fraud the more likely this company will be deal with accordingly and for banks to get some many fraud reports that they will loose their payment providers.

02/11/23 went to an advertised sale for meat, spent $250.12 on meat. The meat has a very dirty smell when cooked and made my family sick. On February 13th of 2023 I purchased $497.39 in meat from the Essential Foods truck in Anaheim.
On February 14th I made 4 bistro steaks, when thawed they were grey which worried me a bit but I assumed it was just the freezing process they use.
Upon cooking the steaks they remained grey, began to curl and just didn’t look right but I continued on.
After cooking the steaks and trying them we questioned if the meat was real or if it was beyond meat. It tasted horrible, the texture was very strange, it almost disingrated in your mouth and not in a good way. When examining the meat further it almost looked like it could peel apart.
I immediately contacted Essential foods the very next morning via multiple phone numbers which weren’t being answered, left voicemails, sent 7 emails and have continued trying with no avail or response from the company.
I contacted my credit card company to get the claim moving faster as well and they haven’t received a response yet either.
I want a refund of the money spent and am willing to return all the meat that wasn’t used. I will never serve this to my family again. I am very disappointed in this companies wrongful ways to market and complete unwillingness to respond.
I can only assume it is because of the amount of complaints they receive from people wanting refunds.

Better Beef ask as " Essentials Foods" is a scam. They advertised that their meat is premium and I paid $400.67 on Jan 23, 2023 for bad quality meat and it smells rotten. I looked at the official webpage and they provide no way to contact them. This is the most disgusting meat I have ever tried and its not safe to feed my family.
I am requesting a full refund and I need satisfactory response from the company. Please don't ask me to provide a receipt in order to get my refund. You didn't provide any receipt your customers. Attached is proof that my card was charged $400.67 on 1/23/23.Initial Complaint

My wife went in on January 28th. She bought $400.46 with of chicken, pork, and beef. In the course of 5 days we tried the chicken breast, pork chops, and fillets. The chicken was full of fat and gristle. The pork chops weren’t even a half inch this and full of fat and small bones. And the fillets were inedible. So full of tendons and gristle. I couldn’t chew a single bite. Their return policy is a scam. They expect you to keep the boxes laying around. And you’re supposed to try the meat the same day? They don’t respond to emails or ******** messages. And it appears that all they do for a response here is copy and paste their return scam policy. I want 100% refund. I will gladly drop off this trash meat wherever they want it. However it all belongs in the trash. I will do whatever i need to do until i get my refund.
