On April I went to club fitness to get a membership. I waited like 3-4 days to go back and give the gym a shot. Went it side and seem good but the very next day after that they close the sauna and showers. Due to someone starting a fire in the mens bathroom. I try cancelling my membership since then and after being told that it has to be in writing now i am being told i need to wait 30 days they will charge me for June and then cancelled. I been to this gym 1 once. And they want to charge me for a service that I am not receiving and that they didnt inform me of a 30 day cancellation period at all.Business Response

Thank you for your feedback, *********. We're sorry you found the cancellation policy confusing; our fees are stated in our promotional materials as well as in the agreement you signed when signing up for a membership. Please see attached agreement. We offer a month-to-month membership, no contracts with a 30-days' notice cancellation. We are sorry about the Men's sauna, unfortunately someone tampered with, and we are ordering a new one. Please reach out to management directly at the club if you need further assistance. Thank you.Initial Complaint

The complaint is. I attempted to cancel my contract with them 3 months ago and they couldn't do it at the gym. Gave me a # to call and it wasn't helpful at all. It didn't even allow me to cancel my contract. I attempted to call corporate but no one ever answers their phone at the corporate office or at the gym. I left several messages but no one ever responded. I complained about them charging me for months I never even went to the gym after I tried to cancel my contract.
It's like a scam how they made it impossible to end your contract. If they sign people up in the gym, why can't they cancel my contract there as well. The cancelling process they have is a scam because they never answer the phone or messages. The automotive system doesn't help you either.... It's literally impossible to end a contract with this gym. They keep charging me for months after I sent them emails requesting to get out of the contract... It's a scam and I tried everything to get out of it.
I had to pay my bank to block them from charging me each month...Business Response

Good morning Mr. *******. The cancellation process is stated on the first page, first paragraph of your agreement attached. You simply go to ********************* and register with your information: agreement number, first name, last name, email address and zip code. Once you register, you log in, on your membership agreement tab simply "click cancel" we have a 30 days' notice cancellation policy so there is always one more invoice from the date you process your cancellation. Thanks, and have a wonderful day.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: That's a scam how they gave me a # to go online and use it to opp out of my contract. It doesn't even work online when I attempted to use it. So I made several several calls to the gym and a corporate #. No one answers or returned any of my messages for the purpose of prolonged months of fees now due. If it's so easy to walk in and sign up. Why do they put you through a ringer to simply cancel?? I'm a truck driver and I don't have time for all of this crap. I'm on the road now having to attempt to get this straightened out. I been paid them for a month that I didn't even go into the gym and that was a payment for the next month after I asked them at the physical gym to remove me from the contract. It's a scam.... I will not entertain the fake process of the go online crap. Just remove me off the contract before I get a lawyer and expose your business.
Thank you.

I went through the whole process of going to the gym and got a member # they gave me for online cancelling my membership. It doesn't work and gives you the run around. I called so many people there HR, manager, corporate #, the gym itself, etc. I left so many messages and no response. I called and ask them to contact me days before I filed a complaint with the BBB. No response to voice messages or emails. They are a scam and I don't want to keep playing with them on the go online and do it. It never worked every time I tried it because it doesn't give the option to cancel on there.

I spoke to the manager this morning and refuse to refund me my money they continue to take out of my account. My membership has been cancelled since October 2023 with a last payment of to be taken out on November 2023. Cancelled again on December 11, 2023 They charged my account on December 28, 2023 and again on January 29, 2024. Can’t make this up but my account was cancelled back in October of 2023. Now the manager tells me it shows I was cancelled last month. Please stay away from scammers and companies like this who refuse to solve the customer issue but tells them to look up the corporate office number under google?? ??????? can’t make this up …and you’re the manager?? But do not know the corporate office number for the company that employs you and you’re in a leadership position. Very unpleasant and down right incompetent to say the least.
A collection agency called me today 04/30/2024 stating that I still owe money $256 to Club 4 Fitness Kenner called the billing department spoke with a Supervisor and she stated that is incorrect and my membership has been cancelled but it shows in their system that there’s still a membership open under my wife’s name. Can’t make this up!! Then I was told that they would contact Club 4 Fitness Kenner in writing to see if they can fix this issue. But this will take 3 to 4 business days and she would contact me once she received an answer. Called Club 4 Fitness Kenner spoke with General Manager ******* who was very rude and unprofessional which I was not surprised by at all concerning this entire scam from this business. He refused to give me the owner’s information and to have the owner get in contact with me. If my account is not closed ******** ****** ************ and the account under my wife’s name ( which should have never been opened in the first place) ******** **** ************ is not closed immediately and I do see any collection on my or her credit report I will sue you and this company Club 4 Fitness Kenner.Business Response

Good morning Mr ******, I hope you're well and having a great day. Please allow me to clarify by attaching a copy of your agreement which states our cancellation process and policy: 30 days' notice means you are responsible for the invoices within the last 30 days of your cancellation and can still use the club foor those last 30 days. I am attaching a copy of your notes including your cancellation request which was received on 12.11.23 therefore your last invoice was 12.28.23 and last date to use the facility 01.27.24. Please see a copy of your billing history attached. Your balance if for your last draft on 12.28.23 which was revoked by your banking institution and still owed for services rendered. I am rejecting this response because:
I have made several payments to ABC Club 4 Fitness as shown above from my USAA checking account. Further I cancelled my account since the end of September of 2023 and I understand the 30 days time frame which means payment should have been taken out on October 28 but instead this business advised something went wrong with processing cancellation in the system. That is not my issue so I cancelled a second time on December 11, 2023. They took money from my bank on December 28 and January 29 of 2023 as shown in the evidence above from my bank account statement. Therefore money should have only been withdrawn from my account on December 28, 2023 because of the 30 days but instead money was also withdrawn from my account on January 29, 2023. Like I said before I am a military retiree and I keep all of my financial records and have no reason to lie about $38 gym fees. But the disrespect very unprofessional and nonchalant attitude from this business and the owner is absurd. The owner stated in response to my google review he would investigate and respond back but never did. That was over 2 months ago instead have a collection agency calling me stating that I owe $256 to ABC Club 4 Fitness. I will forwarding all this to my attorney as evidence of the lies and how this business attempts to scam their customers especially one who dedicated 21 years of their life in service of this great country. This is much more than just about money it’s about principle and treatment of people.

Dear BBB,I am compelled to file this formal complaint against Club for Fitness and urgently request a complete refund of all charges levied on my account, totaling approximately $819.25, which were billed on the first of each month. This demand is rooted in grave professional misconduct and the profound personal consequences that followed. This case involves a personal trainer at Club for Fitness who initiated an inappropriate and unprofessional relationship with my wife, a club member. His actions directly contributed to the severe degradation of my family life, leading to the dissolution of my six-year marriage and the subsequent relocation of my wife and children out of state. The fallout from these events forced me to move and relinquish my home, destabilizing my life entirely.Furthermore, the clubs management handled the situation with gross negligence. After learning of the affair, I was inappropriately and summarily banned from the facility without any legitimate process or even the courtesy of a discussion. My attempts to seek understanding through email were met with baseless accusations of making threats, which I categorically deny. All relevant communications are attached for your review. The lack of remorse, coupled with no attempt at apology or reconciliation from the club's management, compels me to seek full reimbursement for the financial and emotional devastation this situation has imposed upon me. This refund is sought not only as compensation for the membership fees but also as minimal recognition of the extensive damages incurred.Should this complaint not be resolved to my satisfaction promptly, I am prepared to pursue further legal action for recovery of my expenses and for additional compensation for the emotional distress and the tangible losses I have suffered.I trust the Better Business Bureau will treat this matter with the gravity it deserves and facilitate a just resolution.Thank youInitial Complaint

I requested for a fitness trainer. I asked a good trainer who will be constant with out interruptions and i will be here for ever as i need trainer all the time. i was assured of a single trainer who is the best in the zym. To my surprise my first trainer is some one who worked at Walmart as store manager and have no experience who left the fitness center. I was assigned a second trainer , who also left after few weeks. I was assigned a third trainer , who also left after few weeks, i was then put on hold for few weeks and then assigned a 4th trainer who then left after few weeks. This time I was put on hold for over 30 days with out a trainer . i got frustrated and left and found my own trainer. I was contacted by sergiu after many days and offered a 5th trainer. He blamed me that I am refusing his offer and still charged me for that month . I refused to pay as i did not get service for the month being charged. He gave it to his collections who is reporting this to credit berau that will imapct my credit rating .
this is not fair that they have freedom to not assign a trainer for over a month but still can charge customer for that month and harras customer to pay or take service when ever it is provided
such a bad place to sign a contract friends
please please please support me, i should not be paying this as i did not get serviceBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Club 4 fitness did not assign me a trainer after my trainer *** left for more than 30 days. They put me on indefinite wait with out an update on when i can get a trainer .
After waiting for 30days , in order to avoid delay in my fitness goal, I choose to leave and found a trainer my self out side club 4 fitness .
After waiting for 30days , with no trainer, i cancelled my fitness program . After i cancelled my fitness program they contacted me that i still need to pay for the previous month even though a trainer was not available. They mentioned to me , a trainer will be assigned soon and i can use those sessions . Its not fair they can take as much time as they want to assign a trainer but customer must hold on to the program .
Also mean while they are charging me monthly membership fees for the zym and 80$ as second year initiation fee ( this was hidden fees ) while they are assigning a trainer .
they charged me for the month that they did not assign a trainer and its not fair that i should pay when they could not assign a trainer immediately and atleast when they could not update when a trainer can be assigned .
When a trainer left, they should hold on to charging me until a new trainer is asisgned .
They also need to clearly inform when a new trainer will be assigned .
they cant put me in a limbo and keep on indefinite wait and keep charging me monthly trainer fees, zym fees , hidden fees and have me accumulate sessions . Its not a fair business practice

When signing up for personal training, I informed the personal training manager that I work a 9-5 job and would need a trainer that could accommodate me after work, at around 6pm. I was told this wouldn’t be a problem and was put with a trainer for Tuesday/Thursday at 6pm. About 2 months into the personal training sessions, my trainer began canceling almost every session and making it difficult to re-schedule. For $512/month, I expected to not have so many issues with a set schedule. Multiple times, my trainer would send me a text to cancel an hour before our session was supposed to start. At this point, I would already be on my way to the gym and would arrive to see the text that my session was canceled.
These cancellations happened almost weekly, with a total of 7 documented cancellations over 2 months. There were other times my trainer would cancel a future session with me in person.
I went to the personal training manager to complain about the constant cancellations. As a result of speaking with her, he confronted me about going to his boss, telling me he “does not get paid” when he isn’t training and will not “wait for me to get off of work to do our Tuesday/Thursday 6pm sessions” on days that were not convenient to him.
At this point, I did not want to come back to this gym. I was put in contact with the GM, who was extremely difficult to deal with. For 3 months, he did not respond to my email about the situation and wanting to be released from personal training. After 3 months, I got a call from billing saying I would be sent to collections for failure of payment for my personal training.
I had a lawyer get involved in the situation and the manager refused to speak to my lawyer, telling me I couldn’t have anyone represent me. It took over 4 months to get a resolution to this situation, resulting in having to pay a buyout fee for the training. I still feel they should have dropped the whole thing given how they violated the contract.Business Response

Upon reviewing the complaint, I remember this situation. We did offer to switch trainers for this member. As I recall, she was not interested in trying out a new trainer. She was in contact with both the Personal Training Manager and the Regional Training Manager to attempt to come to a resolution for this issue. Due to the member entering into a personal training contract, we offered her a different trainer and even offered to transfer her sessions to a different facility. I will request that our Regional Training Manager reach back out. I am uploading a copy of the personal training agreement here as well.Initial Complaint

On November 10, 2023, I went in to the gym to pay my balance and cancel my gym membership. The employee walked me through the process there and canceled my membership. Club4 has now sent to collections claiming that I owe them for the months of December 2023 on. How could I owe them for a membership that was canceled? I wrote their support team and they told me that it is not their problem because they sent it to collections. I am no lawyer but I don’t see how a business can claim to not be responsible for making up fraudulent charges. I would like the charges to be dropped, and some sort of restitution be paid for the harassment I have faced morning and night with phone calls about this fraudulent charge.Business Response

AS is standard for the fitness industry, we require a 30 day notice to cancel. **** put in his cancellation in November, thus was responsible for the final payment in December. When we attempted to collect the final payment, the draft was rejected. This left the account active, as the final payment had not been satisfied. After the debt reached a certain point, it was handed off to collections. We attempted to contact this member countless times. I will upload the notes from our billing company where you can see the final payment was not collected, as well as notes showing numerous attempts to contact the member. I am also uploading the signed contract where we have our 30 day notice to cancel policy that is signed by the member.Customer Answer

I see that the contract says 30 days written notice, but the employee at the gym told me that I was closed out when I was there. I also received the phone calls but assumed it was a scam since I was getting calls early in the morning and multiple times a day, on top of the previously mentioned fact that I was under the impression that I was closed out with Club4.Initial Complaint

Account Number: *******
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my experience with Club4Fitness and their handling of my membership, particularly regarding trainer services, and subsequent debt collection efforts. On October 2nd, 2023, I reluctantly enrolled in a fitness program at Club4Fitness after what felt like a forced interaction to sign up. Immediately after joining, I regretted my decision and realized that I only required a basic membership, not the additional trainer services. Exactly one month later, on November 2023, I reached out to the PTCS team via email to either freeze or cancel my membership due to personal circumstances. My son fell ill and required hospitalization, and on top of that, we were moving away from the area, making it impossible for me to continue utilizing the gym. Instead of receiving proper assistance, I was met with evasion and unhelpful responses from the PTCS team, culminating in them referring me to collections. Despite being assured that my account would be canceled, I found myself still being pursued for outstanding balances whenever I attempted to rectify the situation directly at the gym. Despite my repeated explanations and attempts to resolve the matter, I continued to receive escalating demands for payment, which has now resulted in a debt collection notice for an exorbitant sum of $2,816. This treatment is utterly unfair and unacceptable. Not only was I misled into signing up for services I did not need or want, but my attempts to cancel within a reasonable timeframe were met with disregard and negligence on the part of Club4Fitness. The lack of transparency and professionalism throughout this ordeal is deeply disappointing and has caused me significant stress and frustration. I am willing to pay the outstanding balance for November, totaling $256, as a gesture of goodwill. However, I vehemently refuse to accept responsibility for the inflated sum demanded by Club4Fitness.Business Response

Good morning, Attached you may find ******* ******* signed agreement and the notes of the email exchanges in which we explained the freeze process and that her account had a balance, and she would need to pay that balance in order to process a freeze. Personal Training customer service and collections emailed her on several occasions letting her know that she needed to get her balance resolved in order to be able to have a freeze placed on her account. It looks like she repeatedly ignored the fact that her payment was past due, hence we could not proceed with a freeze. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

As of February 16, 2024 I have a letter from an attorney saying that I owe Club4Fitness $156.02 and that I am in collections. I do not owe them anything, at all and I NEVER SIGNED a contract with this fitness facility, I did month-to-month, and I paid the first month and NEVER USED ANY OF THE CLUB SERVICES.
I am VERY upset that this establishment is attempting to collect fees that I NEVER USED! I NEVER AGREED TO A CONTRACT and I believe it is illegal. I am going to attempt to clear my credit negative report of this incident, and thus far, Club4Fitness is not willing to help me, they are telling me to contact the attorney on the letter sent.
This is not legal, I am needing legal advice as well.Business Response

When anyone joins Club4 Fitness, the first signature on our agreement is the 30 day cancelation notice. They are informed that they are required to put in a 30 day notice to cancel through the MyIclubonline portal. They are informed their membership will stay active until this is done. **** did not follow this process as it was outlined verbally and sent in his digital agreement to his email. I am rejecting this response because: I do not own this debt. I was NEVER told by ANYONE that I was signing ANY contractual agreement. My lack of attendance and lack of payment is my notice of cancellation on a month-to-month basis. I have paid the fees and first month of use already, this is all I ever agreed to. Please remove this fraudulent debt to my credit report.
I will contact legal council on my behalf if this is not resolved.Regards,

i have uploaded a copy of this member's agreement with this member's signature. You will note the cancelation and month to month policy sections that are initialed by the member. Unless a 30 day notice is put in by the member, and all due payments are satisfied by said member, the membership stays active. Non use is not a qualifier for cancelation. The member was made aware of this policy upon joining and signed an agreement stating so. We are completely straightforward about this policy and it is the first signature on the agreement.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Nowhere does it state that charges will still be charged in a legal and binding contractual agreement. I initialed a MONTH-TO-MONTH only agreement. I am NOT contractually obligated to pay for services not used.
Club4Fitness has no right to sue me for charges I never used. I will not pay anything further to Club4Fitness. This attempt to put these fraudulent charges on my credit report is against THE FAIR CONSUMER REPORTING ACT. Further, I am contacting my attorney to press charges against Club4Fitness through a combined signature gathering of its present and former members to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Club4Fitness for unfair business practices and unlawful credit reporting acts.
This is a final attempt to clear my name and credit of these wrongful charges before you are notified by the law firm of my choosing to move forward with pressing charges. Club4Fitness cannot, and should not be allowed to perform these fraudulent practices against consumers ever again.

You can reject it all you want. Those were the terms you signed up for and were even sent a digital agreement when you joined. Our membership is month to month until canceled with a 30 day notice. Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
