      I purchased a pool pump from this company in April 2022.The pump was installed in May 2022. In June 2023 the pump completely stopped working. Pentair only offers a year warranty on their products. Which I find ridiculous for a product that cost over $1,000. The product had shown signs that it was breaking down well before it stopped working In June 2023. However, it took some time for it to completely stop working. Additionally it took a few more weeks to diagnose the problem. We had a pool technician come out two times to diagnose the problem. The initial diagnosis was a faulty Pentair SuperFlo HMI Drive Cover. We were advised to replace the Drive cover in order to get the pool pump running. We purchased the Pentair SuperFlo HMI Drive Cover, after waiting a week for delivery we waited another week for a technician to come out and install the part. Once the part was installed the problem was not fixed. Per the technician's suggestion we hired an electrician to come out and check our electrical panel. The electrician came out and stated the electrical panel was fine. The final diagnosis was a defective pool pump. Not only have we spent $1,199.56 on a defective product that was sold to us on behalf of Pentair. We have also spent almost $1,000 in diagnosis,repairs and parts. Only to still have a green pool. This pump was only used one season (3-4 months) and stopped working. Our pool is turned off during the winter.We reached out to pentair and went through the steps of filling a warranty claim. In addition we submitted all documents pertaining to diagnosis, and purchase receipts. However they refuse to warranty their defective pump. We are going on month 3 with a green pool due to their defective product. We would like Pentair to remedy the situation by honoring the warranty on their product.

      Build pool and finalized October 2021. From day 1 nothing But problems with Pentair System. Intellichlor would Always have Error. Called several times for Pentair to send Technician out to Replace the system 2 times for it to finally work. Since Day 1, we had Issues with pump with power disconnects and we have to physically go to the box and push the button ON to restart pool pump. It was once every 2-3 months to begin with, then once a month, then once every 2 weeks and now once Every week.Went on vacation and Same Problem occur, we were Not home to physically turn On the Pump and our pool turned Green in 3 days and we had to Pay $300 for someone to come to take care of the pool.Called Pentair customer service spoke to ****** who spoke to me with a Bad Attitude and screamed at me that I dont understand. Would Not take Responsibility and told Me that I have to Pay for technician for diagnosis. I spent over $80k for this pool and equipment so as a Customer and I am still Under Warranty, I am Not suppose to Pay out of my pocket.In addition, the pool company that installed the system and equipment is an Authorized Dealer for Pentair so it Represents Pentair and Pentair should be Reaching out and Find a Solution, Not the Customer.

      Seems like Instead of making improvements its making things worse.

      I purchased a VST intelliflo Pentair pool pump 55 days ago (as of today), after using an Amazon special for 3 years before it stopped priming. I was leaving town and doing a last minute check on the house for the dog sitter. I found the pool pump LCD control panel (drive motor) didnt start that morning. I had no time to check it as I was leaving to the airport. I verified house breakers werent tripped. Upon my return the pool maintained pretty well, because it was being used extensively (luckily). I called Pentair on the day I returned and was able to verify voltage/grounding were present at the pump. They determined it was the drive motor and would send me a replacement via **** I never received an email confirmation of any type, but it was still around 46 days (warranty states 60 days). We are now at a week later and I cant keep the pool clean anymore. Its deep green, with mosquitos. **************** says the part hasnt shipped on two occasions, but they cant tell me if the part is in stock. I finally speak to a supervisor *****, who says the part is in stock, but the orders go out in the order they came in (as if *** cant send 100 parts out if you have 100 pieces and 100 people expecting them currently?). They wont give me any sort of email confirmation that I have a ticket in and theyre accepting responsibility, because they are the warranty department and only deal with warranty ticketsMy Amazon pump cost ****** and lasted 3 years. I decided to go back to the original pentair because theyre known as one of the best. ******* and I got 40 days before failure. Failures can happen, but if this is not common, I wouldve expected a much more urgent response to it. I was told I cant get an email because Im the homeowner, so I need to call back in a couple of days for an update as to a shipping status?! My ticket number with them is TS03135473.Im requesting they extend my warranty for a year, or give me an entire new unit to try my luck again.

      I built a new pool, completed in March 2022. With the pool I purchased all Pentair Equipment including Intelliflo 1-3hp VS pump w/breaker, Filter Clean and Clear 520, Intellicenter Automation, 4, and Prowler 930W pool cleaner. This complaint is regarding the Prowler 930W pool cleaner, which retails for anywhere from 1500.00-2000.00. For the first 7 months the pool cleaner worked fabulous. At the beginning of November 2022, the cleaner started skipping jobs or not completing jobs. By the end of November 2022, the cleaner would not do a job at all. The error in the application is "The robot is not connected to a power supply". However, the robot is getting power because the blue light comes on momentarily. I have followed all of the recommended troubleshooting steps, including checking the impeller for blockage. I tried submitting an inquiry online to Pentair early in 2023, but I never received a response. My pool service company told me that this is a problem that has been reported and it is a faulty motor. I took the robot to a local pool store that is listed as a Pentair warranty shop - but they said they have no way to test it other than visually and they don't have parts for this model 930W. They told me to contact Pentair. I called Pentair, and after waiting for nearly an hour, I spoke to a representative who took my information and gave me a reference number TS03107705 and said I needed to speak to the cleaner department. They transferred me, and I waited for another 45 minutes before the hold music stopped and there was silence on the other end. After about two minutes of this, the call terminated. I am livid. The next day, I try calling again. On hold for 43 minutes and asked to be transferred to the cleaner department. Another 45 minutes waiting for the same thing to happen again with the silent dead air and call termination. I am really frustrated. I also tried reaching out to Maytronics, which is the manufacturer of the motor for this unit - however they do not recognize the serial number of the robot because it is not a Dolphin product, it is only powered by Dolphin. I paid a lot of money for this robot, and it should not have failed with **** months. I want it repaired.

      Called May 18 to have pool cleaner repaired under warranty. Took until July 6th to receive my pool cleaner back and it is still not operating. During this process I called the warranty department several times spoke with ***** who stated she would call me back to discuss why it is taking so long and a tracking number for my part. She never called back. After I received my pool cleaner in July 6th it still wasnt repaired I called Pentair warranty and was told to leave message for ******** who as has not called me back and probably wont. I am extremely frustrated and annoyed with how customers service does not care! I want my pool cleaner repaired! ************ they sent me to doesnt care either gave me the incorrect power supply.

      My old Pentair motor had stopped working properly so I contacted Pentair in February of 2023. They attempted to troubleshoot the issue over the phone and ended up sending me a list of their authorized inspectors/installers to come out. I chose the company closest to my home: Realist Resolutions (******************* *************). ***'s initial diagnosis was my pump's screen had went out. He attempted to replace the screen but my pump was obsolete and needed replacement as a whole. On February 28, 2023 *** removed and replaced the pump with a brand new Pentair pump which was $2500. *** was having a hard time installing the pump as though he wasn't completely sure what he was doing. Aside from *** seeming to be struggling with the job, he made me uncomfortable by attempting to kiss me on the cheek. After *** installed the pump he had asked about the pool heater and if it was plumbed properly and I told him it was. He asked me to show him which I did and he started banging on it which as a result started to release gas fumes. I told him he needed to leave as he was going to kill us and he made a smart remark along the lines of "well I could do anything to her and nobody ever find her." Fast forward to April 25, I called Pentair again as the pump still wasn't working and spoke with *****. I explained the entire situation to ***** and she told me not to worry I would no longer be dealing with *** but with Pentair directly as the warranty would be through them. May 1, 2023 ***** began a work order (WO-01527556) and had ***** from At Your ***************** come out to inspect the pump. ***** stated it was an installation problem. Since then I have been going back and forth with Pentair's legal team as they say I am responsible as it was installed incorrectly, however, the incorrect installation was done by one of THEIR installers. I could understand them not honoring the warranty if I installed the unit myself, but I did not. My case # is TS02841432.

      I purchased a Pentair pool heater in May 2021. I live in ************* so only use it two months out of the year. I used the item for two seasons (4 months total). This year, when opening up our pool I turned the unit on. After about 2 hours of operation it started to "backfire" (best way to describe the problem). I immediately contacted a professional pool heater specialist who came out and diagnosed the problem. It turns out it is due to a **** connection (from the factory as the connection cannot/is not accessible during set up or operation). The unit cost about $1,600. I contacted Pentair to tell them about the problem and ask for a replacement. I understand that the product is out of warranty (which was only 60 days) but the problem was due to a manufacturing/assembly error and did not show any signs until it was too late. There is no way the problem could have been realized within 60 days. As the problem slowly caused a bunch of other parts to warp making it impossible to only replace one part. The company also has a previous recall on record for the same issue (my unit isn't part of the recall but its oddly suspicious that I'm having the same issue as the recall). I am seeking a replacement unit. For how expensive the unit is I expected to get more then 4 months of use from it. If the damage/problem was caused due to improper storage, use or installation then it would be on me but I should not loose out on $1,600 because of a manufacturing defect. Thank you!

      I am rejecting this response because: the response states that Pentair sent me a new heater and that I confirmed I received it and that's its working. This is not true. I just got back from vacation and there is no heater to be found and I did not call them and state I received it. I am willing to provide phone records if needed. My address is on the receipt I attached originally. If they do send me a new one it will resolve the issue.

      Our apologies as we looked into the wrong case number. Looking into the consumer's case the unit was manufactured after the recall date,  and the unit would need to be serviced and repaired. This unit was also purchased online May 2021, and only carries a 1 year parts only warranty. Pentair can replace the gas valve but cannot replace the whole unit. Again, our apologies on pulling the wrong case but this is not something we can replace.

      My pool heater stopped working, I called Pentair. I called a 4 times, I always get through the customer service but they tell me that have to transfer me to the pool heater department, I have sat on hold for as long as an hour and and registered and now I am on my 3trd call back, currently waiting on hold for an hour and 10 minutes. They say they will send me an email to contact the service company never received that either I have sent emails through their contact site, I have called corporate and no one answers just leave a message . I honestly think the process is designed to get you frustrated and to give up My case number is TS02958527.

      I built a new home and pool in 2019. I purchased all Pentair products...two pumps, filter, heater, and control box. 3 years later (and still in warranty) our heater died. Pentair claimed that poor water chemistry and ventilation was to blame for the heater dying, not a faulty heater. The heater is directly vented to the outdoors and in a pool house with an additional electric ceiling vent that runs 24/7. I sucked it up and spent $4000 on a new heater again professionally installed. 1 year later the new heater has failed as well. Pool chemistry is and has been perfect. When it works, the product is great, but a heater shouldn't fail within the first year. Getting the runaround on a warranty claim again. I do not get the feeling this company stands behind their products or values their customers.

      Purchased the Pentair Rocean Reservoir Countertop water filter in October 2022. I spent $230 on this unit to purify water for my baby's formula. I discovered in March that it needed a new filter. The company has since discontinued the product with NO knowledge of contacting people who have purchased it in the last 6 months. I bought it directly from their store online at pentair.com I reached out to their **************** and described the issue. They sent me an Amazon link to purchase a filter, which has been out of stock for months and says " we don't know when this product will be available." So now I have this expensive water filter machine that I can't use, I can't buy filters for, and have no idea for. I emailed asking for a full refund and have not heard back.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      I have been in contact with support@pentair and they are note responding. I replied to them requesting a filter, they gave me an Amazon Link which informed them I was already aware of and has been out of stock for months. I asked they reply with an alternative and I did not hear a response. I wrote again to follow up and nothing. I filed the complaint with BBB, as well as continued to email their correct support email requesting a full refund for a product that I can not use and has been discontinued in less than a year of ownership. 

      I've attached the most recent email from May 14 to the support team and have still not received a reply.

      Hello, 

      We do apologize for your frustrations here. I have gone ahead and emailed rocean with your complaint and information. Again, this is not our department as we are Pool and Spa for Pentair. There is nothing we can do from Pool and Spa. Again I apologize, and I do hope your concern gets resolved.

      Regardless of reaching the incorrect department, please inform the Better Business Bureau and myself of the appropriate contact to rectify this issue. 

      You provided a support email which I have been emailing. You work for Pentair as a company despite it being the pool/spa sector. Who within your organization can be responsible for selling a countertop water purifier that has now been discontinued in less than a year and does not sell the necessary parts to continue use?
