I Purchased a newly gut rehabbed home in July 2024 which has brand new jeldwen windows and doors. 3 of the windows wont stay closed. Top sash keeps falling down and I am unable to lock these 3 windows. There appears to be a problem with the balance mechanism that its preventing the top sash from locking into place and the windows from Closing and latching . Repeated attempts to rectify this with Jeldwen have gone unresolved. They are demanding I provide an original receipt or the serial numbers off the windows. The windows are not stamped with a serial number as they claim and I didnt purchase the windows they were purchased by the contractor who rehabbed and sold me the house. He notified me that purchased the windows and doors from ******* and he doesnt have the receipt. The windows are all very clearly marked with the jeldwen logo as shown in the attached pictures. Jeldwen insisted I attend a tele diagnostic call today I left work early to do so and the jeldwen *** stated the Jeldwen windows sold at Menards are not stamped with serial numbers so I will not find a serial number on them. He then stated that he would recommend Jeldwen send a service technician to measure and identify the window model to order the parts needed to ***air the 3 windows. **** the warrantee case manager then called me and is still refusing by to send a service technician to the house to get this resolved. When I asked to speak with her manager she refused to do so. The windows are open and wont close or lock. This is a very serious safety issue. Please ***air or ***lace these windows.Business Response

I purchased a Special order fiberglass single front door with 1 sidelight from *********** The purchase date was Feb. 10, 2023 with an installed date of March 12, 2023. It is a Jeld-Wen product so after calling HD for this complaint, we were directed to call Jeld-wen Co. directly.The sidelight is full of moisture and is fogged from the inside. It has failed. We have placed a claim with ****- wen including pictures of the failed window last week but they are not going to replace or fix this side light. The total purchase for this product including install was $4,480.82 with an additional cost for the door k*** and deadbolt that was not included.This sidelight has only been installed in our house for 1 year and 5 months and it has condensation, moister and fogging issues already. We just wanted the sidelight fixed or replace. The company is not backing their product. We Extremely disappointed and frustrated.Business Response

6 windows are fading / hazing after only 11 years . Jeld Wen warranty representative ***** emails their assortment of warranties and I find one pertaining to my timeframe which states 15 year warranty with proof of purchase and I.D etching on glass. It also states the I.D may fade away after time . After all this time has passed , the only proof I have are these AAMA Certification Labels attached to all my windows stating Jeld Wen as the manufacturer ( MFR )Business Response

I have asked Jeld-Wen to process a warranty complaint. We have agreed on a price. However, Jeld-Wen just keeps delaying. They make me fill out forms, then never seem to be satisfied that the forms have been filled out. They don't seem to respond to emails in a timely manor.Business Response

I contacted Jeld Wen on 1 August about some problems with windows and was told that someone from Jeld Wen would contact me shortly with further instructions. Within 20 minutes of my call I heard from someone who identified themselves as ********************* with Jeld Wen. This person communicated by text and phone call. He proceeded to ask for information on the windows in question and quoted a price to address the issue. He also said that a local representative would contact me for payment and to schedule the work. This local representative he named then reached out and requested payment to pick up the required parts. After payment was made a series of delays ensued: work backlog, parts delays, etc. I eventually requested a refund from the person who presented themselves as working for Jeld Wen as the delays grew tiresome. I was told the refund would be granted but that refund is still pending after almost a week. Upon contacting the main Jeld Wen number I was told that Jeld Wen has no record of this transaction and that this is not how they operate. Jeld Wen needs to better explain their procedures for handling repair work, especially at initial contact. They also need to state who this person is that ended up with my contact information and how he knew that I needed support from Jeld Wen so quickly after I contacted them.Business Response

We purchased Jeld Wen Windows from our local *********** an authorized distributor of Jeld Wen products. The locks on six of the windows have failed indicating they are locked when they are not or not locking altogether. I called Jeld Wen **************** three times requesting ********************** locks as per the language of the Lifetime Warranty. These locks have been discontinued by Jeld Wen because of this ongoing fail issue and they have a revised version of the locks available. We have offered to replace the locks ourselves instead of having a service call by Jeld Wen. We requested Jeld Wen to mail the revised version of the locks to us. However, Jeld Wen will not mail the new locks to our secure mailing address, insisting that we provide our name, phone number, home address, photographs of each window, and other documentation. This means that we are announcing and placing into an unsecured data base that our home has unlocked, unsecured windows, and the address and appearance of those windows. I would be happy to provide the receipts, however each one is hundreds of items long as it was during a full home remodel. I have provided the window codes engraved on each window. Nowhere in the Warranty does it state that we must provide this vast trove of personal information to receive warranty protection unless we request a home service call from Jeld Wen. This information was not required during purchase. All I have asked of Jeld Wen it that they simply mail the replacement locks to our secure mailing address and we will do the rest of the work. They have admitted to me that they have provided replacement locks to mailing addresses for other customers, yet refuse in this instance. **********************'s demands are invasive and arbitrary and not a requirement within the language of the Warranty. When I explained this to them at customer service, their own ***************** did not know any of these specific details of the Warranty.Business Response

purchased windows from Jeld-Wen in 2012 and noted peeling paint on the exterior Clad coating within 9 years on a 20 year warranty. Filed a warranty claim with Jeld-Wen and they dismissed the claim based on their current warranty standards, not the historical warranty standards when the windows were purchased. When i brought this to their attention they continued to dismiss the claim via the same reason. Historical warranty for paint peeling on Clad windows is within 1 mile of salt water, current warranty standards is within 5 miles.Business Response

i signed contract 12 May, 2006, and the warranty is for 20 years. I Purchased custom vented garden door through *********** made by Jeld Wen (WILLMAR EXT DOOR SYSTEMS) The door arrived with numerous cosmetic issues, and hardware missing. not shipped properly.The door was not manufactured correctly, I reached out to Jeld-wen for warranty, and they responded by email that they will send technician to adjust the door. they sent technician who did not adjust anything or try to look find solution. technician advised "well take of you" at visit. I have email stated that they will get back to me early following week, did not respond for several weeks after ***** depot representative needed to reach out to them. They finally responded claiming the installation rather than warranty the door under manufacturing process quality and control was missed on this door. a simple warranty has turned into manufacturer versus installation. Jeld when needs to step up and replace door. Jeld wen has been combative - not taking responsibility for door from day 1. Instead they have went out of there way to not warranty or help in this matter.Business Response
