      They would not let me change my due date even though I have been a customer for 15 YEARS!My wife originally had the account in her name but we share the bills and most where in my name. She passed in December and in April decided to switch the account into my name instead of just having access to the account. When they switched me they did not inform me that I would be locked into the same due date. Being distraught I was not thinking about due dates. I was just thinking about switching it over. If their representative had just asked me if I wanted to change the date because it would lock in for 12 months. WAS NOT INFORMED OF THAT FACT!So comes down this this. I had server for 15 years and they won't let me change my due date.HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not only does it lock you out of changing the due date they have NO EMPATHY and can't even override it!!!!!If I had the ability to change services I would do that right now in a heart beat!

      My normal street light bill is$8.78. The august bill was $20.91. I have not installed another street light. I paid it because I thought it was a rate increase. The next month was the same. A neighbor told me his bill did not increase. I called Duke many times and was told I had a second street light installed which is not true. I can not get them to even review the issue. Please help me with them. I have called 7 times and been promised a call back from a super visor but none calls. My address is *******************************************************************. HELP!

      I received a chargeback process of $455.57 on my June 17 ****. I called Duke Energy and explained there was fraudulent activity with the card via Speedpay and the charges placed on my account don't reflect any **** I've received within the past year. The representative I spoke with provided me a case number said to call back in two weeks. I called back in two weeks this representative had NO notes of my previous conversation. I had to start over with explaining the situation; he created a ticket provided me a case number. This was the beginning of July. The **** has not been corrected and had now been the amount of ******. I called again on July 26 was told a credit could be seen on their end and I will have a corrected **** for August. To my surprise....there has NOT been any correction to the ****. Here I am now in August and there has yet to be any credit back to my account. I've been told numerous time when the next **** comes out you will see this amount has been corrected. My **** is now $813.22 and considered to be delinquent. This is a never ending circle and I'm completely dissatisfied with the information I've been provided.

      I have waited 8 weeks for a deposit to be returned to me and I have called twice and spoke to 2 different individuals that assured me I would receive it... making another call today before taking legal action.

      Most terrible customer service I have ever encountered. Was trying tonstart service for a new home I koved to. Because of their inept service they had the address listed wrong that the previous customer just went along with it to avoid I guess the hassle of working with them to correct the address. When you call Duke energy to establish a new account they send you a link. Needless to say the link won't work if you enter the correct address. I had to call customer service and boy what a nightmare! The rude unprofessional "customer service representative" literally s**lded me when I tried to see if there was anyway she could find the address on her records by other info. The wild animal/ customer disservice rep technically scolded me repeatedly "you are not listening to me I am saying....". If there is a way I could avoid them I would. Other co use customer service surveys and record calls to put a leash on such employees. Terrible terrible .. no zero stars unfortunately.

      I Had no issues with Duke Energy up until I moved out. I called and stopped service from a different phone *************** unable to locate the call. Ive spoken with my apt complex and Duke energy who continues to refer me to the other for charges that I should not be responsible for since Ive moved out. I was charged from the 07/01 - 07/22 and had not been there for a month, AND called and terminated services as of 07/10 although my lease was up a couple of days after this date. Ive expressed concern and attempted to seek help from both & NEITHER wants to assist. When asking for written documentation of whats needed from the other, vs. only telling me verbally so each can see Im being truthful in all my statements, I have not been given anything NOR will they provide me with a manager when giving them calls!! This is unprofessional and unacceptable.
