      Duke Energy made a mistake on our bill , several of them . The Company is charging us over ****** in full before 12-15-2022. We have never had ANY UNPAID BILLS with this Company , not one single bill . They have been adding on 2 power bills to our bill each month since covid 19 hit ******* . Every month I have to call Duke Energy to verify how much we owe for 1 months service because of them adding 2 bills at once . We pay our bill late because my mother who is disabled does not get paid until the 3rd of each ****************************** posts our payment in full on the 7th of each month. This company has been adding 2 monthly bills every since my mom took over our bill our as in my *************** I am disabled as well but am not able to file for my disability due to interfering circumstances. The Duke energy bill is in my ex-husband's name & we have tried to switch it over to my moms name but Duke Energy wants ****** to do that . Just for a name change ! I called Duke energy on 12-12-2022 & spoke with a supervisor who was beyond rude & wanted to argue every little thing I tried to say . I myself wasn't nice because I am tired of big expensive companies taking advantage of the little poor people like us , who actually do business HONESTLY ! I am angry because I told one agent at Duke energy about 2 months ago that with them adding 2 bills together , that one day Duke energy would make a mistake & try to make us pay more than what we really owe & that's exactly what happened. We pulled our checkbook register & have paid in full each month. However , Duke energy is arguing we paid nothing for November ! It is on the new bill where we paid Novembers bill ! But they insist it was a partial payment in which it wasnt. We could use some help ! It's either pay in full ****** before 12-15-2022 or go without ******************************* I guess we go without food , but not power ? What would you do ?

      Never had issues until they changed from Equal Payment Plan to Quarterly Budget. I've been billed $77 each month since last December which was great however they never adjusted my bill quarterly as they were supposed to. Now 12 months later I get a bill for $197 which is my new Quarterly Budget bill. Why wouldn't they adjust each quarter as they were supposed to! I've sent 3 secure emails and have yet to get a reply. Today I called & ******** was friendly however she was as confused as me so she transferred me to this rude person. She had no personality & very short with me. Her name was similar to Fontasia or something along those lines. She made it sound like this was my fault & that I owed $600 due the the low budget bills the past year. I told her that y'all are the ones that created this "budget" billing plan, not me! I said so much for budgeting when y'all send a bill $130 more per month out of the blue. Horrible customer service and a horrible "plan" for those of us that do have to budget!!!

      I have been paying my bill as budget billing for the past year. Suddenly on October 28, I received a text message saying that an adjustment is needed to my Budget Billing Plan to better reflect my actual usage. I was told that my BBP (Budget Billing Plan) amount will change from $113 to $325, effective immediately. I replied that I did no longer want to be on their BBP. Next, I received a message from Duke saying that I now owe a balance of $1070.17. I was told there was a system error in my monthly BBP. No one has been able to tell me why I am now having to pay this $1070.17 other than they were not charging me for my usage. Now I am left having to pay this amount on top of my regular bill. Needless to say, I am not a satisfied customer. Unfortunately, I can not go somewhere else for my electricity. I am seeing that I am not the only one with Duke Energy that has been screwed!

      one word... MONOPOLY! i had a so called budget billing with Duke that averages out my useage on a monthy basis. i was late on my payment which kicked the budget billing off and canceled it and now i got a charge for an additional $1,200.00 that they say i owe now., I cannot afford this and have no option here and will be disconnected. It is inbelieveable the way this company rips people off juse because we have no other optiion for electric.NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!

      How are you going to make customers pay for YOUR SYSTEM'S ERROR??? My bill has went up 3 times the amount I paid in October, from $68 to $266!!! Is the *** that incompetent or is he/she just a greedy scammer, scamming the public. In the midst of soaring inflation and on a verge of a recession this company just had to find a way to s**** more customers out of more money. Every time I try to save a ***** I have to reach back into my account and take it out because of greedy companies like Duke Energy. But as long as your families are well fed....

      Some of the worst customer service you will ever find. After accidentally sending them a payment that was meant for another company, they have been completing been giving me the runaround about getting the money back. They want to deduct future payments from it, which would take over 6 months to use the credit. I have spoken with five different people and gotten completely different information. I see why all the reviews on here are bad because they are absolutely awful. I am now out over $500 that was supposed to be used to pay another bill. So sad this is how they treat people.

      I was enrolled in Duke's Power Management program without my consent. I come home to find **** has come to my house and installed a Power Management box on my AC unit. I called **** and asked them how I was enrolled in this program. They told me I have been enrolled for two years. I have never given consent to enroll in this program. **** has now removed me from the program and told me they would remove the box within 10 days. I asked **** how I got enrolled in this program without my consent and the could not give me an answer. This program offers $32 dollars annually in savings to allow them to cut power to your house during peak seasons. Doesn't seem like a good deal to me!!

      You came out and replaced a meter in March. My bill has never been above $140 a month. in April through August of 2022, my bill went from $140 a month to $550 a month.. I had a local Duke Energy guy come back out and replace my meter and the bill went back to normal. I have called multiple times and talked to multiple supervisors to try to get a refund for the extra $1200 that I had to pay to keep the power on. They ALL told me me that they would not refund my my money. They have records of all my calls and never got anything in return

      My last bill was $170 i been caught up with my electric bill and i have proof of everything so the new months bill was $700 I live in a mobile home not a mansion I dont understand why they charging that!! i need help solving this it cause distress with me and my wife .. please hep!!
