      If you are a veteran, or anyone wanting to get a loan through Cardinal and you don't have 3-4 months to continue to submit the same documents over and over again. Look elsewhere. I now have two horrible experiences with Cardinal. The first was when my husband and I were refinancing our home. The initial quote they gave us was what made us want to use them. By the time we finally got to closing (approximately 4 months later!) the bottom line was far different and padded work so many fees they said they weren't charging. They dragged their feet for so long on the process. My current experience is as a realtor representing a disabled veteran. They are doing the same crazy games with him. Making him submit and resubmit the same documents over and over and then coming up with new ridiculous documents that he needs to submit. With the current slight drop in interest rates I was able to get him locked in with a good local lender that said they can get this deal done in 10 days! The craziest part is that Cardinal have had this file for almost 6 weeks as a the day before closing they found a problem with the purchase agreement. That should have been brought to the table 5 weeks ago. That wasn't the only problem though, they keep finding reasons to not give us a projected close date. Now, my disabled veteran is at risk of losing the perfect home that is already modified to meet his needs and they are at complete fault for this while debacle. BUYER BE ****!!!

      Horrible!! I ran into hardship last year and did a loss mitigation application May 2022 and thought I was put onto a forbearance. I called loss mitigation in December to let them know I was ready to resume payments and they told me I was never put into a forbearance. I had to redo my application which I did that in January and they still havent completed it and now Im fighting a foreclosure because no one there can do their job or even communicate properly!! I call every single week and every time they tell me something different. Two weeks ago I was told my application was complete and that the foreclosure would be suspended. Well this week I got notice of the foreclosure again and called them. The agent said my packet was never complete and that theyre missing information. The info they claim to be missing was submitted THREE times!! They also havent been accepting my payments because of them not completing my application!! I have now hired an attorney to resolve this and plan on completing switching lenders when this is over. My advice ri anyone would be to steer clear from this company!! Very unprofessional and they do not communicate at all!!

      I too want to give this company negative stars. Cardinal Financial has been more than terrible to deal with and my issue still has not been resolved after three weeks!Cardinal Financial placed a lien on my neighbor's property with my name attached to it and never notified me or my neighbor of this. He had to find out after he was in a loan process to build a house. His team was able to work quickly and efficiently and provide all of the needed documentation and detailed steps of what Cardinal Financial needs to do to fix their mistake.I have spent countless hours over the last three weeks attempting to receive any form of an update. Only after hours of pleading does someone finally "escalate the issue". Escalate means someone somewhere will look into it within 72 hours. 72 hours means they will not start the clock until the next day and then only after 72 hours will they be done. In which they will not contact me in any way to let me know what happened. So, I call back, retell my story, and continue to be told "they" are working on it.No one can contact "they". The entity that is working on my issue is unavailable for questions and cannot be contacted by even the people within their own company. When I do eventually receive an email stating they are working on it and to reply with any questions...nothing. To this very day I do not have an update nor a response to any of me emailed questions.I have received zero assistance and many hours of my life have been wasted. I also know that a response to this complaint from Cardinal is likely them asking me to call their **************** Line...which I have already spent countless hours on with no assistance.Literally one of the worst customer experiences I have received from any company in my time on this earth.

      I am beyond disappointed with ***************** NMLS *******, I was not sure how she found my information. She called me on February 17th and she started to question me about the mortgage loan that I was not aware of or applied for the loan. I told her that I recalled applying for the ***** that will help me buy a home with my fixed income and she said she had several other options all I could do is apply through Octane and it should be a simple and quick process and I had to repeatedly myself to make sure that *** aware that I was only looking to get a ***** over and over again. I spoke with a friend of mine and did a 3 way call with *** because my friend protected me to make sure that I am in good hands and *** made it clear that I should be qualified if I receive Government checks and should be approved. My gut kept telling me that something was not right and my friend alerted me it would not gonna work out but it did not hurt to try and see what happened so I went ahead and applied on the 18th. I received a response in the email from ***************** on the 21st related to the TransUnion issue and I had to get this solved. I have not heard anything back from ***************** so I sent her an email this morning on the 28th and she stated my credit was a very excellent score for a mortgage, however my income itself does not qualify and that I needed a co-borrower. I felt that she was wasting my time and I told her upfront in the email that I made it loud and clear that I was looking to apply for a *****, not the loan! She came up with an excuse to the next excuse. Now she hurt my credit score due to hard inquiry for nothing. After this I wonder what she will do with my sensitive information? Was playing around and tricking someone like me and got away with it? Again, I am very disappointed with ***************** for her actions, dishonest and unprofessionalism.

      Worst company to finance with. I tried to make two payments last month but they deny it on their end and marked my credit badly so dont get a mortgage with these bad bad people every one of them need to be fired

      The Cardinal Financial Company underwriter team that did my loan didnt even bother to do their job correctly. As I closed my loan they didnt check I had the correct insurance for my home according to the Alabama state laws. The underwriter team has admitted they did a mistake and assumed my homeowners insurance covered everything. I keep getting the run around and no one takes ownership and finds a resolution to fix the mistake they did. Money was paid for this people to do a job they didnt do and the company should fix the mistakes their employees are doing. Customers pay a lot of for closing cost, we also pay money for anything that delays the closing of a loan, so I think companies need to pay for the mistakes their employees make. I dont recommend this company at all, STAY AWAY FROM CARDINAL FINANCIAL.

      One thing I forgot to add, I spoken with a few people that worked on my loan and the answer was You still need to get the insurance. I spoken with the person in charge of the people within my region, his answer was You should escalate to corporate since I can solve this problem. Now the ***************************** they only communicate through email or voicemails and God knows how long it will take to fix this problem. At the end the consumer is the one suffering paying $2000.00 or $3000.00 more for a policy.

      Can I give this negative stars? The only word we've been able to find that describes this business is crooks. We started trying to buy our first house in ** in APRIL... come JULY we learned that they never did anything with our file and we only had 3 weeks until we had to be out of our apartment and would have been homeless. We gave them everything they would have needed but came back at 11:45 the ***** BEFORE OUR 3RD MISSED CLOSING asking for more documentation that was required to close. They NEVER sent our app to **** like they informed us they did. They were stringing us along for the money. We switched to a new company who got us closed in 2 weeks. Every morning I would wake up to a new disclosure from them raising the amount of money I needed at closing, one morning it went from $5k to $13k!!! Saying that it was the difference in the houses worth, when they just didn't give us the other option for **** to give us more money for the down payment. We were NEVER going to close with this company. We definitely lost money with this company but we gladly paid to rush our file to a different lender that weren't trying to steal from us. We read the reviews too late but almost every review we read the day we decided to switch was exactly on point for our situation as well. DO NOT USE CARDINAL FINANCIAL.
