My name is **************** and Top Tier seems to be a scam: Around August of this year, a Top Tier (TT) salesman knocked on my door offering a free estimate. Next a rep to came out, sit down with my wife and I and went over how much installation would cost. The next day an installer came out to install the control panel. At my request, the panel was plugged into the wall outlet and SIMPLY sat on a counter, not one s**** was used to install the panel. Later there was a hiccup with our home owner's insurance so TT could not do anything (like pull permits, ect.) without the insurance. So I took this hiccup as a sign and canceled the whole thing. ** continued to text me over the following months, trying to get me to change my mind about the project. On 10/31/23 I finally got a call from "*****" from cancellations, stating that if I cancel I would be charge some "...liquidation fee, up to $3,000". He immediately followed up with how much TT could save me if I changed my mind about the project. However, he was unable to tell me EXACTLY the liquidation fees consisted of seeing as how no one ever came out to survey our home. Not one s**** or measuring tape was used on our home. I've read reviews and complaints about TT and there's a theme, scamming. I will not be bullied or lied to. If we ever decide to go solar, TT would NOT be considered.

The reason we followed up after your cancellation is because we began the work for your project and wanted the opportunity to see it through to help you reap the benefits of solar energy. Furthermore, any fees brought up would have been from cancelling your project well after we've begun work on your project and outside the cancellation window. As such, we strongly refute your claims that our company is a "scam," and take offense to such allegations. While we are sorry that you did not want to continue your experience with **, we have thousands of customers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, ******** and **** who have been very satisfied with our services. Top Tier (TT) installed my panels in April, but they have never been turned on. Dominion told me that TT installed their panels without prior approval, and that I was not given required documents, that my system is too large and I have to switch to an offset only plan. ** finally told me that they had permission to turn on my panels around the end of August. I said, "Great, so when are you coming to turn them on?" but they sent me a DIY ********* video on how to do it myself. I told them, "No. I want YOU to come out and turn them on and I need you to teach me how to use the control panel in the hallway." They never came to turn them on.Around 8/26/23, I discovered that my roof is leaking, dripping in my living room! I need to have my roof REPLACED, and that is an EMERGENCY. I told Top Tier that I need the panels removed so I can replace my roof and I need to know how much it will cost to have them mounted on the ground because putting the panels back on my new roof would void part of the roof warranty. . I have sent emails, text messages, voicemails. But the only response I have been given is that it will cost about $2,000 to have them removed, but they won't tell me how much it will cost to mount them on the ground. I will have to refinance my mortgage to get the money to replace my roof and I can't do that unless I know how much all of this is going to cost. I have a tarp on my roof, I am at risk for mold developing and increased water damage because Top Tier won't give me the information I need to get my roof fixed. It's almost Halloween, almost 2 entire months with my roof not being fixed... because of they won't respond. I'm talking to a lawyer to find out my options. We're sorry to receive your review and for the libelous things that you may have heard regarding your system. We assure you, none of that is true. Your system could be turned on, however, as you stated, you will not turn it on. Our systems are extremely easy to activate - it's a two step process that involves the flipping of a switch - which is why all of our customers activate their own systems. Furthermore, the last contact with us that we have on file was on September 8, at which time we quoted the cost of panel removal and reinstall. Additionally, on 9/8 when you called, you only informed us that you were getting your roof replaced and asked for a quote of the panel removal. You did not ask us to replace the roof. Unfortunately, we did find that you called our ******************* twice in October and not the Solar department. We are more than happy to remove your system to get your roof replaced and install the system as a ground mount.Review fromBruce C

Top Tier has been a great company to go solar with. I have been handling the project on behalf of my father. They were smooth with the installation. I honestly only had to be attentive of calls to get things done. They will take care of the entire process for you.
