I am a AAA Carolinas member. On April 20th, I contacted AAA for service to tow a vehicle from ******, South Carolina to *************, South Carolina. I spoke with a representative around 3:00 p.m. and was told that a tow truck would be there in approximately 2 hours. Unfortunately, after many calls, I was finally told around 8:00 p.m. that no service was available and that I could organize a tow truck on my own. I was also told that I could recoup this money by filing a reimbursement claim with AAA.I organized the tow with a local service. They arrived within 20 minutes. I completed and submitted the reimbursement form on April 21. AAA states that it takes approximately 3 weeks to receive the reimbursement. I waited 4 weeks and still have not received the money. I have called multiple times to AAA customer ********************** and they connect me to a reimbursement department where I've been on hold on the phone for up to 30 minutes with no response. Lastly I use the feature to leave a message and request a call back a couple of days ago. I have not heard anything. I can not reach anyone that can help me. Hello,I have been a member of AAA since **** and i'm so disgusted. I Placed a call at 5:56pm on 6/11/23, I waited in a thunder and lightening storm with no shelter alone, into dark for a lockout and nobody ever showed or called. I contacted Customer ********************** at approx ****** to make them aware of my situation and they claim they made my call a priority. I ended having family return from vacation early to help me. All I had on me was my phone with low battery. Everything was locked in my car. I received a call TWELVE hours later shortly after 6am to unlock my car. What kind of nonsense is this? You left me stranded in a storm without shelter alone until family was able to arrive 1am. This is unacceptable. This company has become a scam, you are taking money from people for a service you can not provide. I had a terrible time with this auto shop. My car sat there for almost a month from 5/10/23 - 6/2/23 (partially due to miscommunications with insurance, partially due to the shop) before finally being finished. I had to pay out of pocket for 2 weeks worth of rental cars and my mom had to drive 500 miles to visit so I could use her car. The shops mechanics and manager refused to take any accountability for their part in the delays and couldnt get their story straight about what the issue was with delays. It wasnt until I threatened to take my car elsewhere (after 3 weeks of the car just sitting their shop on 5/30/23) and file a complaint that they seemed to move into gear.In addition, the mechanic laughed at me multiple times on the phone when I was audibly upset about the delays and did not take my frustrations seriously. I had to get my insurance agent to repeatedly call them so he could then pass information to me. I am beyond disappointed with my experience as someone who has been a AAA member since I was 17. I was offered no compensation beyond a measly $50 off on a $2,000+ repair, and no apology when I finally was able to pick up the car. The person handling my payment at the end barely looked at me and seemed like he was ******* me out. This shop and its employees are misogynistic and bullies, that need some serious investigation done on their business practices and ethics.Business Response

I received a AAA membership card with autorenewal. I cancelled it at the beginning 2021 during COVID as I've entered into a nursing home facility and do not drive. I called them again cancelling in 2022. Figuring it'd take the cancellation, you expect operators to actually do it. Now its June 3, 2023 and I called and went online and STILL can cancel this NOW roughly $300 ($94 each year issue THAT I DON'T USE.)I have friends and neighbors assist to find ANY cancellation feature online on the site I log into. You're taking advantage of the elderly. Your records will show I have no used your services in the past probably 8 years, but I consciously cancelled in in 2021 and I keep getting billed AFTER talking to AAA representatives by phone "whom you like to trust", hence why we had AAA. I called to have my car towed 1 mile from old house to new house. I was told that my car could only be towed to a mechanic. I spoke with several supervisors and was told the same thing. They didn't tell me that when I paid my money. The website says any destination. I had to pay $120 to get my car towed by another company. That is a breach and false advertising. I was given $12.38 when I asked for a refund. I would like my full membership and my $120 I incurred due to the breach.Business Response

My family has used *** of the Carolinas for decades. My elderly parents have used *** of the Carolinas for over 30 years. They have called for assistance less that a half-dozen times. Today, they called for emergency roadside assistance at 12noon, as they were traveling from ********* ** to ******** ** and their Siena minivan would not shift and was stuck in park. The *** rep sent a tow truck within an hour. The driver arrived and said he needed to get a different truck and he DIDN'T COME BACK. my father called again and was told theyd be there within an hour. He spoke to the *** rep repeatedly. At 2:30om, realizing they were 3 hours from home, called me to drive towards them. My mother has a medical condition and was starting to get confused and irritated. When I arrived at 6:30pm, they were still waiting on a truck to arrive. I myself called *** at 7:30pm and was told the very same thing. No trick ever came. Finally, at 8:45PM I reached someone who said they were unable to get a tow truck. MY ELDERLY PARENTS SAT IN THEIR VEHICLE in a small, remote town (********,**) for OVER NINE HOURS waiting for help that was never going to come. It was getting dark, and they needed to get home to get medications. This is unacceptable from ***, and infuriating as my parents have been faithful customers for a very long time. The whole premise of *** is emergency roadside assistance and the peace of mind that my siblings and I HAD is shattered. The virtual updates telling my father someone was on their way gave false hope. We under up leaving the minivan in its location, unattended and driving the three hours home. We are still driving and will arrive close to 2:30AM. I hope whoever gets the pleasure of reading this with *** considers how their parents would feel if they were left on the side of the road for over 9 hours. Weve already made arrangements with a repairs shop 4 miles from the vehicle now who HAS A TOW TRUCK but we didnt know because *** handled it. UNSAT.Business Response

I place a call to AAA on May23,2023 7am no one showed up again.They dont service a lot of areas in the South Carolina rural area or poor areas . We pay for a service in our membership for all areas in *****************. I cant even get service will I reside.I had to contact an outside company by the name of ****************.They did the unlock service and a jumpstart as well.They came within 1.5 hour.They did an excellent that I pay AAA a yearly fee.I was on the phone with a representative from AAA and they wasnt able to service my area This is the third time that this happenedBusiness Response

Date : 5/21/2023 I requested roadside service to AAA around 6pm on 5/21/2023.The service came on 2am on 5/22/2023.Tow truck driver's car **** was working so he asked me if he could use my car **** that was attached in my car.He lifted my car with my car **** and took out the tire but he couldn't put the spare tire in because the car wasn't lifted high enough. He put one small wood lock under the break disk without tire in and took the **** ****** tried another way to lift the car but he couldn't figure it ****** asked me if he could use his truck to lift the car since the truck had towing machine.I told him to use it and he lift my car with the truck and put the spare tire in.Next day I was trying to drive my car to the tire store. My car wasn't moving because the spare tire is not spinning.I called AAA and reported damage so someone can come out and see what's wrong.They said someone will contact me within 3 days.I didn't get any phone call from AAA or the provider.AAA called me after 5 days and said someone will contact me again.I didn't received any calls after that.AAA emailed me 6th day and offered voucher for the next membership for the long waiting issue.I spent over $300 for Uber since I couldn't use my car.I spent a lot of time and labor to contact AAA and tried to get resolve the issue.AAA emailed me back that they assign the case to different department (6th day).It is still not resolved and my car is just seating like that for a week.Business Response

we called for road side assistande at 8:30 pm, we called back at 10:00pm and was told to call back in 30 min if nobody called. At 10:30pm we called back and was told it would be noon tomorrow before they could get to it! MY WIFE WAS STRANDED!!!! I went and picked her up and we had to leave the car. We were lucky it was not vandelized, or should I say AAA is lucky. This is a complete breech of contract. We have been members over 30years. If AAA can not provide the service they advertise and charge for then they should be shut down. This whole thing cost me a day off work and a night with no sleep. This is not the first time, on another occasion my wife had to call a locksmith because AAA could not respond. They reimbersed but just the same they failed to deliver. I called AAA yesterday for Road side assistance and I was told that the VEHICLE I was in was not covered by AAA. The policy actually covers any vehicle I am in when I need road side assistance. A AAA tow truck was in the same **** Club parking lot, ********, **, and the driver/operator offered to give our battery the jump it required. The driver spoke with AAA CS from my phone and HE gave her his needed info. He returned the phone to me and she told me at that time that I wasnt covered for the help I needed. I was 65 miles from home and I am furious with AAA for hiring incompetent people. They have no problem taking my money. I resolved the problem by paying the driver $45. cash to help me. Paying for a service I do not receive, I consider a theft. Id like an apology from AAA and my money refunded.Business Response
