On January 21, 2025, my husband was in an accident on I-75 near *****, **. He called ***, who stated the *** would take ***** hours. On January 22, *** informed him that, since he was in a safe location, the request was converted to an appointment-based tow, further delaying service. My husband stressed that the vehicle was in an unsafe location, but *** still reclassified it. They also instructed him to leave the key under the floor mat and the doors unlocked. On January 25, AAA finally scheduled a tow for the next morning. A different representative asked if we had contacted the *************** to inform them the vehicle wasnt abandoned. This was the first time we were told to do so. My husband immediately notified the sheriffs office. That evening, we learned the truck was missing. We contacted all local tow and impound lots, but none had it. When we called the sheriffs office again, they informed us the vehicle had been flagged for impound due to its unsafe ************ had assured us they would reimburse impound fees and any necessary repairs had the vehicle been towed to an impound lot. However, since the truck was stolen, they have provided no reimbursement or support. This truck held great sentimental value, as it was a gift from my late father before he passed. Its loss due to **** negligence has caused significant emotional and financial ************ is partially responsible for the loss of our vehicle due to:1.Unreasonable delays The tow was postponed for days.2.Failure to provide critical information We were not advised to contact law enforcement until too late.3.Unsafe instructions Leaving the truck unlocked and the key inside increased its vulnerability.4.Negligence AAA ignored our concerns about the unsafe location. We request that AAA take responsibility and provide appropriate compensation.Business Response

We spoke to Mrs. ***** on 2/8/25 regarding her missing truck. We apologized for the delay they had, as there was snow in ** and caused extreme delays outside of our control. We applied a credit to her membership, but advised we cannot reimburse or apply any funds to her stolen truck. We advised Mrs. ***** that *** and our Independent contractor never had the vehicle in our care, custody, or control and cannot take responsibility for the actions of unknown third parties who commit intervening criminal acts.Initial Complaint

1/10/2025 I called AAA to replace my battery as it was suspected dead after needing a jump to get out of my work parking lot. The tech they sent came to replace the battery, he broke my bracket that holds my battery in and there's still half a s**** left in a hole to install the bracket that I, now, need to deal with to put the bracket back in and I'll need to buy new bolts for it. After installation, my car had no power whatsoever and instead of trying to troubleshoot the technician continued to ask me about my personal life, my previous marriage, etc. After the technician left I noticed my signature is forged on the receipt I received, so I never signed the document that I've attached to this complaint. I submitted brief feedback to *** but received nothing more than a canned response about "sorry and please use AAA still". Throughout the weekend, I did my own diagnostic and the issue was your tech never cleaned the terminal nor did he tighten it correctly on the battery. Once those two things were done, my car starts fine. It's one thing to have an incompetent technician going around damaging vehicles and doing improper installations, but to have him also trying to navigate if someone is interested or available while he does that is ridiculous. I believe there should be a reduction in the bill due to the fact that my bracket is broken and I'll need to repair it, including ordering new parts to put it back in, your tech didn't do a proper installation or diagnostic due to his personal information distractions and my signature was forged on a warranty/ service document.Business Response

Mrs. ***** advised after having battery installed by ***, her bracket was broken, member advised she needs to bolts for that replacement in which she will fix herself. Member advised her signature was forged on her service document, but member only sent in her estimate for her bolts to be replaced. Mrs. ***** was appeased for the bolts needed in the amount of $23.34.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because AAA only reached out for documentation and there has been no resolution regarding the damages their technician is responsible for, their technicians inappropriate behavior isn't addressed or the fact that he installed the battery incorrectly.Business Response
Date: 01/27/2025
The complaint on the drivers behavior is being addressed, internally with management. We do not share that information with members once a decision is made. Ms. ***** provided us with an estimate for repair on the 2 clamps, we have submitted a check for those repairs to her, it is coming in the mail. She advised she would be doing the repairs on her own. We consider this matter closed.Initial Complaint

We have been a member of *** for a very long time. *** was also a very reliable source for roadside ******************* which is why we renewed the membership year after year. However my experience with *** this year has been deplorable to say the least. On 7/31/24 my vehicle would not start due to the battery. I called ********** sent a technician J ****** to check the battery. He changed the battery (but had trouble with installing it & was unable to secure the battery belt). The battery was working up until 12/22/24. The vehicle would not start again & indicated the battery was dead. I called *** again & this time they sent technician Rontei out. He tested the recharged the battery & the vehicle started then a few minutes later it died again. He tested the battery again & it said dead cell. (Screenshot attached). He tried to put in another battery but it didnt fit. He told me to he did not carry the battery I needed (47AGM-C) only the car care center carried those batteries. He recommended I go to the *** car care center in *************** as that was the only one in the area. I scheduled a tow for 12/23/24 to go to that car care center. On 12/23/24 *** sent ***** with ******* towing & while he loaded my vehicle I called the *** center in ************ to let them know we were coming. I spoke to Will who said *** does not carry that battery & the technician should have installed a *** battery. ***** suggested I call the *** center on flat river ******* ****** in *********. I called that location & spoke to **** *. He said they had battery & to bring it there. When we got there **** was very rude & dismissive. I tried to explain the ********** dismissed me saying a battery doesnt cause a car not to start. I left the vehicle & in less than an hour I received a message my vehicle was ready. I asked did he change the battery; he & no it didnt need it, the cable was just loose. I tried to inform him of the ********** dismissed me again. This is not acceptable.Business Response

Good Afternoon,
We are unsure of what occurred during the multiple visits with AAA Emergency Roadside assistance, but the root of the issue was the battery dying while driving. We politely tried to explain there was likely a larger issue going on aside from the battery being low on charge. It seems the pain point has more to do with the misinformation provided by roadside assistance as well as price point. We did test the battery, and the results came back as "charge and retest" so we did not warranty out the battery.

I am rejecting this response because: this locations staff are trying to make light of this situation. I have a witness who was with me and can verify the deplorable way they provided customer ********************** and completion of my concerns regarding this battery. If **** *. is the one responding to this complaint please have his manager contact me.Business Response

We spoke with the member on 01/02/2025 @ 3:45pm. Offered a continued apology for her poor experience and attempted to offer clarity regarding the battery warranty process. Member was frustrated with the service provided through *** ERS as the first battery installed on 07/31/2024 was apparently installed incorrectly. When *** came to warranty the battery on 12/22/2024, the roadside tech knowingly tried to install the incorrect battery size, only to reinstall her original battery and not tighten down the battery cable terminal ends. Member scheduled a tow to ****************, but store did not have the correct battery in stock. Member towed vehicle to ** ****** after speaking with **** *., who informed her that we had the correct battery option in stock and would work her in without an appointment. Member was unhappy with the service that **** *. provided and was upset that the battery was not replaced. Focused on providing a resolution vs. replaying past events. Member was adamant about not using AAA moving forward. Apologized again to member and provided her the link to the digital battery reimbursement form. Member was appreciative of the call and stated, "you can go ahead a close out the BBB complaint". Please close case. Thank you.Customer Answer
