  Another Onyx Odyssey dissatisfied customer. This company scammed my friend and I out of *******. We were scheduled to go to ******* in 2024. We were excited and paid for the trip for over 7 months when we realized it was a scammed. The communication was okay until about 3 month after booking the trip. After that time it was short phrases or no response at all. It wasnt until around the 7 months my friend notice that the was no advertising emails and the website had been dismantled. We quickly called or bank and stopped all payments. It is a shame that hard working people have to loose money this way. We need to all get together and find a way to hold these people accountable. I hope they get caught soon so no one else will have to experience this horrible ordeal. DONT DO IT !!!!! ITS A SCAM !!!!

  My friend and I had a trip scheduled for Morrocco in 03/2024. In December we could not obtain any communication regarding the trip. My friend later called me and stated the website had been shutdown and she hasnt received emails since Sept 2023. The investigating the company began and we realized IT WAS ALL A SCAM. We called our credit card companies and blocked/closed accounts so no more money would be issued. This should not be allow. I am so upset because we lost $4350. They should try getting a job instead of scamming people out of their hard working money. This company should no longer be allow to change names and open up any other businesses. I wish there was something that could be done to help us get all or some of our money back. This is sad.

  If I could give them 0 stars I would. This company scammed me and my roommate out of $4300 each. I should have been suspicious when they changed their name 3 times in the year since I made the booking. They sent an email saying they were out of business on November 27, 2023. By the time the email was sent, they had shut their entire business down and removed themselves from web. This was my first time booking with this company and this experience was disappointing to say the least. I can't believe that someone could be such a con artist and do this people who just want to live their travel dreams, it's really unfortunate.

  I initially had good feelings about this agency, but they soon showed they are not trustworthy. Shortly after they rebranded, I received an email from ********** about a private invite only experience to **** from Oct 29-Nov 7th. When I began asking about the itinerary, the date kept changing. I even tried asking about this trip on the ******** page and they would delete my posts. Her own assistant didn't even know about this trip. I sent them several emails and they never responded. People work way too hard to have their money thrown down the drain. Do not use this company! There are more professional and reputable travel companies geared towards women of color.

  If negative stars were a thing I would place them here. Onyx Odessey, Melanin voyage, Noire or Pre'Knechia **************** and in any business venture that she is involved in. She and her business ventures are flawed and will rob you of your hard earned money. Myself and 24 other people took their ****** experience and, the trip was scheduled for ******, Santorini and Mykonos. We paid in full for the trip, luggage of any kind was not covered, we were unable to upgrade the flights, Mykonos did not happen during our trip as well as not receiving our travel boxes that were supposed to be included in the package. Then, 10 ladies from the group participated in the flying photo dress shoot to which we paid the sum of about $500 only to find out that Pre had not paid the invoice and we are currently having to pay the vendor $350.00 just to receive our photos. She told the group publicly that we were wrong for reaching out to him and that if we want our money back to dispute the charge with our banks. Also she sent an outright NASTY message to our group that was unprofessional and she owned the fact that we paid her and that she has not paid him. Not to mention she overcharged us for the experience. Please DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!!!

  PreKnechia ************************* is a scammer!!!! The business is no longer located in **************. We cant find her whereabouts.She wont respond to emails, she blocks you on social media and takes your money!! Do not book with onyx odyssey!!!

  Please do not book with Onxy Odyssey, Melanin Voyage, Noire or Pre ******. These are the names that we know she has used. Pre is very unprofessional and unorganized. Your experience will be very unorganized. Pre lacks basic communication skills. She takes money real fast but isn't so fast to respond to your inquiries. My friends and I just got back from the most unorganized and worst trip ever. I wouldn't want my enemy to do business with this company. Our host was sweet or appeared to be sweet but had no knowledge on what was going on daily. She dressed inappropriate to be entering another cultures sacred places. What was suppose to ******* was not that. We lack the basic amenities such as indoor plumbing. Not mention we paid $4,000 for this. We are now as group trying to figure out how to recoup some of the money from this experience. She should not be able to scam the public. Please look elsewhere to plan travel because working with her will become your worst nightmare.

  2nd time trying to post this review. Don't recommend unless you're fine with getting your trip details 13days B4. Changed their name 3x previous name Melanin Voyage.***** May 2023 Review Very stressful trip! The owner Pre is not professional, and it the trip was all booked last minute.I paid for this trip for a little over 1 yr for Air/Land to *****. I had to repeatedly ask for my flight info. We never received a confirmation#, just a flight#. Claimed we couldn't get that info due to a group booking. Didn't get flight boarding pass until we showed up to ticket counter Lost 1day of travel due to last minute change in flight and airport that we were arriving to. The places I booked were all 1day off an had to be canceled, as many places needed to be booked 30days in advance.We were supposed to have ALL info of our trip 30-21days before.When I questioned if this was a scam, she claim I could get a refund if I didnt feel comfortable. However I talked about this trip for a year so, I stuck it out and I had ***************** She also stopped replying to my messages on WhatsApp when I kept asking for my flight boarding pass.The Coordinator ******* was very approachable and nice. However, she knew Nothing and had to ask about everything as well. Why have a coordinator and not use her. Hotel was fine, it was a Moxy in both ************** Tour guides were booked last min and were Not native to ***** they knew basic info about the temples, and seemed confused.Didn't get swag bag until 1day before heading back home. Will try to ************* you with extra excursions when tickets are much cheaper to buy yourself. Private transportation where cabs. No private transportation company used except going to/from airport.Pre doesn't know how to talk to people. Tired to scold the group as if it was our fault the tour guide didn't know what she was doing when we wanted to shop.I made great friends on the trip, but won't book another group trip again after this.

  This company is a SCAM!! I lost 5k from a booked trip to ***** that I paid on over 1.5 years. Only for the trip to be canceled 19 days before travel and my only option is to move payment to a trip next year or file a claim with travel insurance company. I have no information on the insurance company and the company is not responding to any communication. I researched travel groups for black women. I came across a group called Melanin Voyage. I messaged them and they promptly responded with information. I took advantage of the $150 downpayment promotion and set up a 10 month payment plan. Initially, I was able to access an account to see the my travel details and such. I told my sister about my travel plans and she too got on board and set up plans to travel. The monthly payments were debited from my account for 10 months. Oddly (hindsight) around the time of the last payment the company changed their name to Onyx Odyssey. There was some explanation given about legal issues related to branding. However, along with the name change their system platform changed too and now I had no access to viewing my account. The team was still somewhat responsive to my question but now it took a lot longer and the response was more vague. The closer we came to the date of the trip the less communication received. And at 45 days before travel details of our flights had not been provided. Then at 30 days before travel no communication or response to emails/ messages. The only communication was a request for and additional $450 for a Flying Dress Photo shoot. No itinerary, no flight details and no response ti my specific questions related to packing. Now no one in the company is responding to email nor providing a way to communicate via phone. This company is taking peoples money and sending them to file a claim with travel insurance to get reimbursed!
